Story
I am 53 lbs, and I am looking for my forever home. Adoption Donation: $450 Shy is a beautiful girl with a stunning brindle coat and a gentle, sensitive soul. True to her name, she can be a little shy at first and may need a minute to warm up to new people. But once she feels safe, her sweet personality shines through. Shy loves affection and will happily lean into you for pets once she trusts you. She has such a tender heart and just wants to be close to someone who cares about her. She came to us when her owner sadly became homeless, and the change has been scary for her. Shy is simply looking for a safe, loving home again — a place where she can relax, feel secure, and be someone’s beloved companion. With a little patience and kindness, Shy will reward you with quiet loyalty and lots of love. All dogs are microchipped, neutered, current on all vaccines, heartworm tested (if age appropriate), and up-to-date on preventatives at the time of adoption. All household members and any dogs from the household need to be present to be able to adopt. A photo ID will be required at the time of adoption. Appointments are recommended. All applications are considered general. Specific animals are NOT put on hold for adoption. When you visit, our adoption counselors will be able to make suggestions based on the type of pet you are looking for and help you find the best fit for your family. Animal House Shelter cannot guarantee the breeds of the adoptable animals. The animals are posted on the website as the breed or breed mix based on their physical characteristics they most resemble. We also cannot guarantee the ages of our adoptable animals or how large puppies will be when fully grown. We look forward to seeing you soon! Story
Looking for a gentle giant to complete your family? Say hello to Duke, an adorable two-year-old Mastiff mix who's ready to fill your home with love and joy! This big-hearted boy has so much affection to give and is eagerly waiting for his forever family to come along. Inside the home, Duke is already a model citizen in many ways. He's fully house broken, comfortable in his crate, and absolutely adores being around his humans. Like many young dogs his size, he's still growing into his massive paws and personality. Duke would benefit from some continued reinforcement of his basic manners - he's quite strong on leash and gets so excited during playtime that he sometimes jumps up or gets a bit mouthy when his enthusiasm takes over. Duke would thrive with a family who has previous large breed experience and is willing to invest some time into his continued training. Due to his size and exuberance, we're looking for a home without children under 10 years old. He's not trying to be rambunctious - he just doesn't always realize how big he is! When meeting new dogs, Duke can be a bit unsure of himself initially and can be slightly reactive. The good news is that after a quick, proper introduction, he does wonderfully with other canines, especially female dogs. He does get excited around toys and food, so clear boundaries are important. Surprisingly, this big boy LOVES cats and would happily share his space with a dog-savvy feline friend! If Duke sounds like the perfect addition to your family, please contact us today. This lovable boy can't wait to meet you and show you just how much love he has to give! Story
We are looking for a loving new home for our Mastiff girl. This has been an incredibly difficult decision for our family, we want to find someone who can give her the time and attention she truly needs. She is spayed, very sweet, and has the gentle personality Mastiffs are known for. She is great with kids and other dogs and has even lived peacefully around chickens. She has not been around cats, so we’re unsure how she would do with them. She absolutely loves being around people and forms strong bonds with her family. Because of this, she does struggle with separation anxiety when left alone for long periods of time. She would do best in a home where someone is around most of the day or with someone experienced with helping dogs work through anxiety. She is afraid of fireworks and thunderstorms, so she appreciates being indoors and close to her people during that time. She is a wonderful dog with a huge heart and deserves a home that fits her needs better than our busy schedule.

Story
Meet Sam! Sam is a very handsome pup, estimated at about 3 years old. He’s thought to be a Mastiff Mix, but, rather small for the breed. Sadly, Sam found himself at an overcrowded noisy animal control facility down south. He deserves a forever home and family of his own, and we want to help him get there!! This precious pup absolutely loves people and is good with older kids who are respectful of dogs. We expect he is good with lower energy dogs. Dogs who are too active might scare him and cause him to react. Sam absolutely loves belly rubs, and treats too! He's a little rough around the edges in terms of training but clearly is eager to learn. Sam is in overall good physical shape however he does have some vision issues causing him to sometimes miss things coming his way….this is why we expect he’d be scared by higher energy dogs, and high-activity youngsters. Sam is neutered, up to date on vaccinations, microchipped, heartworm negative and on preventative. We would still like to get Sam to an eye specialist for a comprehensive examination of his eyes/vision. If you’d like to add Sam to your family, please contact BAARKDogRescue@gmail.com or 847-852-0895.

Story
Lilo is a big, sweet-hearted Mastiff who is ready to bring love and loyalty to her forever family! This gentle giant has a calm demeanor and is as friendly as they come. Lilo has been tested with other dogs and did wonderfully, and when walking past cats, she didn’t react at all – so she’s great with both other animals and people. While Lilo may be a little shy at first, her love for human interaction and treats quickly help her open up. She’s a big fan of cuddles and enjoys spending quality time with her people. With some patience, she’ll become your ultimate snuggle buddy and a loyal companion for life. Lilo is looking for a home where she can feel safe, loved, and spoiled with attention. She’s a calm, affectionate dog who would thrive in a household where she’s given the time to adjust and get comfortable. Lilo loves human companionship, and she’ll quickly show you how much she appreciates your kindness – especially if there are some tasty treats involved! If you’re ready to welcome this sweet, giant girl into your heart, Lilo can’t wait to meet you and start her new chapter with you! 🐶💕 All of our dogs are dewormed, spayed/neutered, microchipped, up to date on age appropriate vaccines, and heartworm tested if they are old enough.
