Story
Smoke is a gentle giant who’s ready to fill your home with love, loyalty, and plenty of big-dog snuggles. He’s friendly and outgoing with people, and while he can be a little selective with doggy friends, with the right match he could potentially enjoy a canine companion. At 7 years old and a whopping 150 pounds, Smoke is a true mastiff-sized presence — big in stature and even bigger in heart. He has a nicely balanced energy level. He enjoys playtime (especially a good game of tug!) but is just as happy soaking up attention and relaxing with his people. Smoke is housetrained according to his previous family and already knows a variety of basic commands. He’s smart, eager to please, and would love a home that keeps engaging his mind and continuing his training. He would do best in a home ready for a large, strong dog who wants both playtime and lots of affection — someone excited to share life with him! Smoke is ready to find his forever family and start his next chapter as a cherished member of the household. Come meet this big, lovable boy and see if he’s the perfect match for you!Smoke is neutered, microchipped, up to date on his vaccinations, and ready for his forever home!

Story
Blair is a shy, gentle girl. She is a new arrival who was picked up as a stray. She was scared and skinny, and hopefully her time at the shelter will improve that. She will thrive in a home that is calm and patient, where she can blossom at her own pace. We are just getting to know her, and we`ll add details as we learn about her personality. But why wait for that when you can come meet her today?Did you know that black dogs are often overlooked in the shelter? They are oftentimes the dogs who stay in shelter care the longest and are chosen last. Break the stigma and adopt a black dog today. Remember, black dogs are the best dogs. Their hair doesn`t show up on black clothing and their coats don`t appear as dirty as they may be. Will you be the lucky owner of a black shelter dog? Blair is spayed, microchipped, and current on vaccines.

Story
Approx. DOB: 1/23/17                 Approx Weight: 65 Lbs Adoption Fee: $175 includes a 2 week trial to ensure everyone's happiness! Hank was initially surrendered to Furry Kids' due to the health of his owner. He was recently surrendered by his adoptive family because they are transferring overseas with the military. He is in a Furry Kids' foster home and his foster family had this to say about him: 'He really is the sweetest dog. I’m thinking he is English Mastiff and German Shepherd mix. Hank is both loving and playful. He plays with our big dog and enjoys her company. He loves all human cuddles and pets and would love to sit with you on the couch all night after a hard day. He does like to try to get his humans to play with him like a dog and will bark playfully to get you to play. He is crate trained and housebroken.' Hank should not be placed in a home with small dogs under 20pds. He doesn't like to be growled at or bossed around by the ones smaller.  Hank does have allergies. He recently received an allergy shot. Hank has been neutered, vaccinated, heartworm tested negative, wormed and microchipped.  If you are interested in adopting me, please complete the adoption application located at www.furrykidsrefuge.org/adoptadog and a dedicated volunteer will get back to you as soon as possible.
