Story
Rojo knows there are some adorable puppies and kittens available, but he wants to remind everyone he is also looking for a home. He’s a grown dog. No puppy nonsense. He uses the outside to potty like a big boy. He sleeps all night like the grown man of about five years that he is. He loves walks, jogs, playing with toys, being goofy and funny, and being loved by people! He gets along well with other dogs, kids, and even cats. Want to watch the entire football game without having to run a puppy out 7 times? Rojo said he wants to watch the game! He can wait to potty. Find out more about this great guy! He’s a neutered male mastiff mix, around 65 lbs, and a stunning red color. Call or text The Pet Connection at 913-671-7387 for more info. He's available through City of Raytown Animal Services in Raytown, Missouri.

Story
Enid is about four years old and, without reading ahead, go ahead and guess what specific breeds she is. There are five! Drumroll, please... Enid is bull mastiff, Neapolitan mastiff, German shepherd, cane corso, and labrador retriever! All of those in 70 pounds of cuteness. Enid loves laying in the grass, playing fetch (but not so much bringing the item back to you), chewing on sticks, sleeping on her back, getting belly rubs, riding in cars, and hanging out with her people. She is also a fan of playing in water from the hose or in a kiddie pool. However, don't ask Enid to step outside to potty in the rain unless you're willing to go out with her! She is super smart and already knows sit, shake, down, place, kennel, come, look at me, through the legs, and wait (for food). Squeaky toys will motivate her; toys, not as much. Go figure! Because Enid is such a smarty pants, keeping her mind busy helps to keep her out of mischief. While she can't do crossword puzzles, she is really good at snuffle mats, lick mats, and peanut butter stuffed Kongs! If you're looking for a super snuggly, Velcro pooch, Enid is not that. She's fairly independent but will seek out pets and attention. She also likes to sleep in her human's bed sometimes, if she's not napping in her own dog bed. Do you think Enid might be the peas to your carrots? The jelly to your peanut butter? Call or text The Pet Connection at 913-671-7387 for more info! She's in the KC metro, but transport might be available to the right home.

Story
Bitsie, an 8-year-old mastiff mix who needed a new home after her owner passed away. She had been living in very poor conditions and arrived obese, with severe foot infections, patchy hair, and other health issues. Although our building was full, ABF helped by arranging veterinary care, providing supplies, and eventually placing her in temporary foster care. Over several months, Bitsie underwent extensive testing and treatment for a persistent bacterial and staph infection in her feet, as well as a UTI and hyperthyroidism. After multiple medication adjustments and specialist visits, her condition gradually improved. As of October, her infection has drastically decreased, her pain has subsided, she is now thriving on a maintenance regimen. She's transformed into a healthier, happier dog. Bitsie continues her Thyro tabs for her hyperthyroidism and Ketoconazole and Sporimune to maintain the care of her feet. Bitsie for the first time is like a puppy. She is enjoying life. She has always given sloppy kisses, but even more now that she feels good. Bitsie runs around the yard, tossing her toys up in the air, chasing balls and rolling in the grass. She also loves car rides and thinks she is a lapdog. I know she has had a long journey to get where she is today and may have to continue some medications, but we are still going to hold out hope that someday she can have her own family. She is very strong, active, smart and wants to please you. Bitsie needs a family that can train her and love her for the rest of her life.

Story
🐾 Meet Lil Bit — A Big Personality with an Even Bigger Heart! ❤️ Don't let the name fool you! Lil Bit is a handsome, 3-year-old, approximately 60-pound Boxer/Mastiff mix who's full of love, energy, and personality. 💕 A Sweet, Loyal Companion Lil Bit is exceptionally affectionate and forms strong bonds with his people. He loves following his favorite humans around, responds well to familiar household cues, and has done very well with children. He's playful, curious, and always ready for some fun, but once he's burned off that energy, he's more than happy to settle in for snuggles! 🐶 An Enthusiastic Social Butterfly Lil Bit enjoys playing with other dogs and has had positive interactions with canine friends. He can be a little overenthusiastic, but he's shown that he respects corrections from other dogs. He also gets very excited when he sees unfamiliar people or dogs, especially on leash or behind a barrier. His reactions can look intense, so he'll benefit from calm, managed introductions and continued leash training. His experience with cats is still unknown. 🎾 Room to Run, Love to Give Lil Bit is an active boy who needs regular exercise, playtime, and mental stimulation. A securely fenced yard would be ideal, giving him room to burn off energy while his family works separately on leash manners. He's familiar with household routines and hasn't shown destructive behavior during his recent foster stay. Although he has crate experience, he may bark when left alone in a new environment and will need patience as he adjusts. He also prefers gentle handling around his face and during grooming. 🏡 Could Lil Bit Be Your Big Love? Lil Bit would thrive with an active, patient family willing to provide exercise, consistent routines, and positive reinforcement. Underneath all that enthusiasm is a wonderfully sweet, loyal, affectionate dog who just wants to be part of someone's life. Give Lil Bit a chance, and you might discover he's exactly the big-hearted companion you've been looking for! 🐾💙 ----------------------------------------- Interested in adopting?
