Story
Meet Honey. This gentle senior girl was found wandering the streets, alone and in pain. Her joints ached, her hips were stiff, and her body told the story of being left outside for far too long. But her story is changing — thanks to the love and expertise of her foster mom, a vet tech who’s made it her mission to help Honey heal. And she is healing. Honey is now on a regimen that helps her thrive: daily Metacam, Cartrophen injections, and joint supplements. Like many seniors, she’ll need to stay on this care plan — but it’s a small price to pay for the comfort and love she so deeply deserves. What’s sweeter than Honey? Absolutely nothing. We all hope to grow old with dignity and peace. But imagine finally reaching your golden years, only to be discarded like you no longer mattered. That’s what happened to Honey. Did she do anything wrong? Never. She was simply born kind, gentle, and full of love — and that’s still exactly who she is. She sleeps next to her foster sister’s crib at night, quietly keeping watch. She wears silly hats and dish towel “blankets” because it makes the baby laugh. She’s even stolen the heart of her foster brother, who now lays beside her in quiet companionship. She brings peace and warmth to every room she enters. She’s perfect. Now it’s time for her forever. Honey deserves a family who will cherish her through her senior years. Someone who sees the beauty in her graying muzzle, who understands her past, and who is ready to give her the soft landing she never had. If your home — and your heart — has room for a little sweetness, Honey is ready. Apply today and let her golden years shine.

Story
Meet Priscilla, queen of the dog park! Priscilla is such a cutie and just the sweetest girl. She has a curious spirit, a love for treats and has already shown herself to be an affectionate and eager-to-please dog! She always gets excited to see our volunteers and will greet them with her whole body wagging, eager for some attention and maybe a tasty snack or two. On walks, Priscilla is excited to explore and does well when walked at her pace. While she’s confident enough to explore quieter areas, she can get a little spooked by busy or high-traffic zones, but she settles down quickly once she’s in a calmer environment. She’s a quick learner, and she comes right to you when called, especially if there’s a treat involved. Priscilla really enjoys spending time outside, whether walking, playing or simply people-watching. She just enjoys being in the moment! When it’s time to head back, she’s easy to return back home and will happily go back inside for a good petting session. Priscilla is a friendly and sweet-natured dog who thrives on companionship. She will need a patient family that can continue to build her confidence and help her adjust to her new routine at her own pace. She will soon blossom into the loving, loyal companion she’s meant to be. Come say hi to Priscilla today!

Story
HK is a big, goofy 100-pound sweetheart who truly believes he’s a lap dog! This gentle giant has a heart as big as his paws and is always ready to make you smile with his silly antics and affectionate personality. HK loves spending time with his people — he’ll lean right in for cuddles and happily soak up all the love you have to offer. HK’s favorite things? Treats, exploring new places, and being your #1 sidekick. He enjoys going for walks and exploring the world, though due to his size and strength, he’ll need someone comfortable handling a large dog. HK is currently working on his leash manners and learning to stay calm when he spots other dogs. With ongoing positive reinforcement training, he’s making great progress and showing that he’s eager to learn! If you’re looking for a loyal, loving best friend who’ll fill your life with laughter (and maybe take up a bit of space on the couch), HK is your guy!

Story
Ranger is vocal and loves to tell you about his day and then tell you again! He loves to be pet and looks at a gate as a challenge, not a barrier. He can be stubborn and defiant, so a strong Alpha owner is needed or he will take control. He is a powerful puller on leash, so a harness is best. He likes car rides and is crate trained. He is looking for a forever home that has some experience with the food motivated lab and stubborn mastiff. Due to his size and strength, older children are best. He has a great smile, and will show all his teeth when he is happy or nervous. He is up to date with his vaccines, flea and tick treated, microchipped, Heartworm negative and is neutered. His adoption fee is $500. You must be 21 years old to adopt and provide vet and personal references. An application to adopt him can be found on our website www.oxfordcountyanimalrescue.com. Click on Adopt, then Dogs for Adoption and scroll to the bottom of the page. All applications are reviewed, and if we feel you might be a good fit for him, you will be contacted to arrange a home visit as well as for permission to speak with your vet. Repeated phone calls and emails with not advance your application. We are a volunteer, foster based rescue and there is no opportunity to meet him before an application has been approved. We thankyou for respecting these guidelines.

Story
Easy-going & Affectionate HIs Foster Mom says he is ‘Delightful! A well-adjusted dog and happy to go along with whatever you’re doing.” An absolute cuddle-bug who just wants to be near his people. He will lean in against you for affection and paw at you for moreBIO: - Lab/Mastiff Mix, 2.5 years old, Male - Large (80 lb), Medium-energy- From Ginoogaming, transported by Northern Connection Dog Rescue- Remi is house-trained, microchipped and has his core vaccinations (he will be neutered soon)ABOUT REMI: - Good on a leash, he will show interest in other dogs with a wagging tail- Great in the car — hops right in, settles down and relaxes- There have been no signs of separation anxiety while in foster care- Overall he is chill and can show some shyness, especially at first, but he’ll open up fast and be putting his head on your lap for a nap before you know it- Very attentive and eager to connect — likely very trainable, you just need to find the right treats because he is not food-motivated and at dinner time he is more of a grazerREMI’S IDEAL HOME:- Besides being by your side, one of his favourite things is getting outside for a walk and some sniff time. His future family should be ready to enjoy daily walks with him.- Remi is a strong boy physically, but on walks he is mostly loose leash and shows little prey drive, he shows interest in meeting other dogs and may pull for that but is easily re-directed with a verbal reminder- A shared-wall situation may be okay, Remi is more of a gentle communicator than a barker- Remi has lived with cats before, if his potential adopter has a cat we will arrange a meet and greet- He has lived with children in the past and may be fine with children again. Older dog-savvy children that understand that slow and calm is best would be idealIf you’re looking for a loyal companion with a soft heart and calm presence, this sweet boy may be your perfect match! For more information about Remi visit our website at: https://etobicokehumanesociety.com/dog/adopt-remi/
