Story
Meet Tango — a 4–5-month-old Mastiff/Lab cross puppy with giant paws, a growing personality, and enough charm to bulldoze his way straight into your heart. Tango arrived at the shelter as a “stray,” which honestly feels hard to believe because this sweet boy clearly thinks people are pretty wonderful. Like many puppies, he can be a little shy when meeting new people at first but give him about five minutes and suddenly you’ve got a wiggly best friend following you around like you’ve known each other forever. He’s playful, social, goofy, and currently at that fantastic puppy stage where every single thing in the world is exciting. A leaf blowing across the yard? Incredible. A squeaky toy? Life-changing. Your shoelaces? His greatest enemy. Tango also arrived with Demodex Mange, which he has been treated for and is recovering from nicely. Demodex mange is a common skin condition in puppies caused by microscopic mites that naturally live on dogs’ skin. Young puppies can sometimes develop it when their immune systems are still maturing, leading to hair loss, irritated skin, and scabbing. The good news is that it is treatable, and Tango is already healing well — his scabs are improving, his skin is recovering, and now that he’s starting to feel better, his happy puppy personality is really shining through. This handsome boy already knows “sit,” and he’s eager to learn more. Continued obedience training and crate training will be very important as he grows, especially because Tango is expected to become a large dog. Right now, he may just be an oversized puppy with floppy enthusiasm, but one day he’ll be an oversized adult dog with floppy enthusiasm — so starting his training early will help him become the very best version of himself. As a Mastiff/Lab mix, Tango will need plenty of daily exercise, mental enrichment, and positive guidance to keep both his body and his big puppy brain happy. Puzzle toys, walks, training games, and family adventures will all help this growing boy thrive. Overall, Tango is exactly what many people dream of in a family dog: affectionate, playful, social, and full of potential. He just needs a home willing to put in the time, patience, and training needed to help a young puppy grow into a confident, well-balanced companion. Please complete an adoption application: https://www.hamilton.ca/home-neighbourhood/animals-pets/adopt-or-foster-pet/adoptions Tracker has a future appointment to be neutered once he is fully recovered. His adopters must be willing to return him to a Hamilton clinic for this surgery, which is included in the adoption fee. Animal adoptions and viewing are by appointment only. This allows our Adoption Staff to spend quality time with each potential home to ensure the most successful matches are made between the animals and their new families. *Please note: we only adopt within Ontario

Story
Ranger is vocal and loves to tell you about his day and then tell you again! He loves to be pet and looks at a gate as a challenge, not a barrier. He can be stubborn and defiant, so a strong Alpha owner is needed or he will take control. He is a powerful puller on leash, so a harness is best. He likes car rides and is crate trained. He is looking for a forever home that has some experience with the food motivated lab and stubborn mastiff. Due to his size and strength, older children are best. He has a great smile, and will show all his teeth when he is happy or nervous. He is up to date with his vaccines, flea and tick treated, microchipped, Heartworm negative and is neutered. His adoption fee is $500. You must be 21 years old to adopt and provide vet and personal references. An application to adopt him can be found on our website www.oxfordcountyanimalrescue.com. Click on Adopt, then Dogs for Adoption and scroll to the bottom of the page. All applications are reviewed, and if we feel you might be a good fit for him, you will be contacted to arrange a home visit as well as for permission to speak with your vet. Repeated phone calls and emails with not advance your application. We are a volunteer, foster based rescue and there is no opportunity to meet him before an application has been approved. We thankyou for respecting these guidelines.

Blaze is a sweet, gentle pup with a calm nature and a heart full of potential. Rescued alongside his two brothers after being found wandering a lonely remote highway in northern Manitoba, he is now looking for a patient and loving family to help him continue building his confidence. Blaze can be shy when meeting new people, but with kindness, encouragement, and ideally a friendly, well-balanced dog companion, he blossoms more each day. He is wonderful with other dogs, gentle with cats, and is doing well learning to walk on leash. Like any pup, he is still working on his crate and house-training skills, but he is eager to learn and has shown nothing but a sweet, gentle temperament. Bentley is a sweet, gentle pup with a calm nature and so much potential. Rescued alongside his two brothers after being found wandering a remote highway in northern Manitoba, he is now searching for a patient, loving family to help him continue building confidence. While shy when meeting new people, Bentley is making steady progress and would benefit from having a friendly, well-balanced dog companion to show him the ropes. He is wonderful with other dogs, fantastic with cats, and is doing well learning to walk on a leash. Bentley being the largest of the brothers can be a bit pushy around food with them so continued management and guidance around mealtimes will be important, especially in a multi-dog home. Like any young pup, he is still working on his crate and house-training skills, but he is eager to learn and has shown nothing but a sweet, gentle temperament. Could Bentley be the perfect addition to your family? Story
Meet Honey. This gentle senior girl was found wandering the streets, alone and in pain. Her joints ached, her hips were stiff, and her body told the story of being left outside for far too long. But her story is changing — thanks to the love and expertise of her foster mom, a vet tech who’s made it her mission to help Honey heal. And she is healing. Honey is now on a regimen that helps her thrive: daily Metacam, Cartrophen injections, and joint supplements. Like many seniors, she’ll need to stay on this care plan — but it’s a small price to pay for the comfort and love she so deeply deserves. What’s sweeter than Honey? Absolutely nothing. We all hope to grow old with dignity and peace. But imagine finally reaching your golden years, only to be discarded like you no longer mattered. That’s what happened to Honey. Did she do anything wrong? Never. She was simply born kind, gentle, and full of love — and that’s still exactly who she is. She sleeps next to her foster sister’s crib at night, quietly keeping watch. She wears silly hats and dish towel “blankets” because it makes the baby laugh. She’s even stolen the heart of her foster brother, who now lays beside her in quiet companionship. She brings peace and warmth to every room she enters. She’s perfect. Now it’s time for her forever. Honey deserves a family who will cherish her through her senior years. Someone who sees the beauty in her graying muzzle, who understands her past, and who is ready to give her the soft landing she never had. If your home — and your heart — has room for a little sweetness, Honey is ready. Apply today and let her golden years shine.
