Hello! My name is Jake!I came into the Guelph Humane Society in June very scared and under-socialized. My GHS friends and foster parents have been working very hard to help me learn that the world isn`t so scary. Once I warm up, you will see I have the best wiggle-bum. And I enjoy neck scratches and bum scratches. I`m still working on my confidence as little things can scare me, such as noises and movements. When I feel comfortable though, I can be quite silly and playful. I`m looking for an experienced home that is patient and can dedicate time to helping me continue to come out of my shell!MY IDEAL HOME INVOLVES…CHILDREN: Teenagers may be ok, no young children given my sensitive nature.OTHER DOGS: No, unfortunately I don`t have much experience with dogs and am not very comfortable with them.CATS: Potentially, with a cat confident around dogs.FIRST-TIME DOG OWNERS: No, I am looking for a family that has lots of dog experience.FENCED-IN YARD: Required.HOUSING ENVIRONMENT: No apartment buildings due to my fearful nature.SOMEONE HOME MOST OF THE DAY: Not necessarily.SOME OTHER THINGS TO KNOW ABOUT ME…ACTIVITY LEVEL: Medium.HOUSE-TRAINED: Yes!If you think I could be a good match for your home, click the `adopt me` button to apply!

My progress has been slow and I`m looking for an adopter who has the time and interest in continuing to help me progress. I am playful and love running around when I get the zoomies. I`m getting more comfortable going for leash walks. I take a bit of time warming up to new people but once I do I`m very snuggly. MY IDEAL HOME INVOLVES…CHILDREN: Teenagers may be ok but no young children.OTHER DOGS: No, I am not very skilled at meeting new dogs.CATS: Potentially, with a cat confident around dogs.FIRST-TIME DOG OWNERS: No, I am looking for a family that has lots of dog experience.FENCED-IN YARD: Required.HOUSING ENVIRONMENT: No apartment buildings due to my fearful nature.SOMEONE HOME MOST OF THE DAY: Not necessarily.SOME OTHER THINGS TO KNOW ABOUT ME…ACTIVITY LEVEL: Medium.HOUSE-TRAINED: With a consistent routine and frequent outings, I will catch on nicely! If you think I could be a good match for your home, click the `adopt me` button to apply!FOSTER ME! MORE PHOTOS/VIDEOS: https://www.facebook.com/TLCRR https://www.instagram.com/taffyslegacycaninerescue https://www.taffyslegacy.com/koopa Koopa is currently being fostered in a detached home with 2 canine foster siblings. Koopa is house and crate trained. Koopa is a BIG BOY, and often doesn't quite understand that he is stronger than others, but he is doing very well with his training and loves to please his people. Koopa is very happy go lucky and playful with his canine friends, however he can make poor choices when adrenalized and does best with calm proper introductions. Koopa has had an incident with one other dog who was jumping up where he overcorrected, resulting in that dog needing stitches. With his friends, Koopa is fun and playful, and does well with supervised play with other well-balanced dogs. He doesn't always understand his size, and does play rough, so he would be best suited playing with other large breed confident dogs, as he can intimate more nervous or reserved dogs with his big size and big play style. He has shown some prey drive for smaller dogs, and would do best sticking to his bigger companions. We have not cat tested, but at this time with his size and prey drive we are looking for a home without cats. Koopa is a big loveable goofball and loves all people. He does well meeting new people and is a patio favourite hanging out with his foster mom and her girlfriends in public social settings. He has had one incident of grabbing a staff members coat and playing tug of war which caused it to rip - due to this he is looking for a home without kids or with older kids. Koopa is very food motivated and loves training, and has been going to a group training class weekly since his intake. He is doing very well, knows his markers, and continues to work on training daily with the kennel staff! Koopa is playful at the kennel, however he is a lower energy boy and has some hip/elbow issues that prevent him from participating in longer walks. He is looking for a lower energy home that can continue conditioning calmness and give him lots of puzzle toys and satisfy his mental energy. He is currently taking a glucosamine supplement. His perfect home would have power breed experience. Fun facts about Koopa: -This big guy is happy to be with and please his person! He loves to chew on wood and play in the sprinkler. He is hesitant to get into the bath tub but once he is in there, he is happy to get the attention and be scrubbed with soap and water! Koopa loves going for car rides but I have recently noticed that jumping into the back of the Jeep has been a struggle some days. I tend to get him to get his front paws up and lift his back end to help out. -Koopa likes to take shoes out of the closet and bring them to me but will never chew on or destroy. Likes to play with circle shaped foods before he eats. Needs work: Koopa is a big puppy in a full adult sized body! He can be easily overstimulated and always wants to be part of the fun! He would benefit from conditioning calmness and place exercises, as well as working on his crate training and leash skills. High prey drive in adrenalized situations. Koopa's foster mom works hard to manage his environment, facilitate proper introductions with trusted dogs and supervise play with his canine friends. Koopa is also working on puppy nipping - and uses marker language to get the point across that the behavior is unacceptable. Here is what Koopa's foster mom has to say about him: "Koopa is an absolute joy to have around. His goofy, owner pleasing personality makes him great to train and build an outstanding relationship with. He loves to be around people in new and familiar environments and receive all the attention. This big guy doesn't require a lot of exercise to tire him out and is very well at settling down in his crate or on his dog bed for some rest and relaxation. He loves to chew on his wood log or indulge in his licky mat when his Foster Mom makes him one. If I had more room and didn't already have two dogs, Koopa would be my first #fosterfail. He is truly a big treat!" ADOPTION PROCESS: taffyslegacy.com/adoption-process

Story
King Tutt / Male / 2 years / 66 lbs / Mastiff Mix / Good with Dogs / No Cats Please / Good with Children / From Tennessee / Fostered in Toronto ** Follow King Tutt’s journey on Instagram @tk_fetchfosters Meet King Tutt! This beautiful brindle boy came to us from Tennessee where he, his brother and dad were left without a home. Despite his difficult past, King Tutt is full of charm and is sure to win over everyone he meets. King Tutt’s foster’s describe him as loyal, loving and playful. He loves to make new friends, whether human or canine. Being with his people is important to him, whether it is out on an adventure, playing at home, or lounging on the couch. King Tutt can be a silly guy, who enjoys exploring, playing with toys, swimming, and running in the yard. He will make a great addition to an active family. King Tutt is a social butterfly, who loves to meet new people, and soak up attention from those he already knows. He has shown no hesitation, and will greet people with excitement, ready for scritches and cuddles. King Tutt has met older children and done well. He sees them as more humans to give him love and attention and will soak it all up. He can get excited and jump, so interactions should be monitored. Although he has not met young children, given his demeanor we think he would do well with respectful, dog-savvy children. King Tutt is very adaptable and is happy to be where his people are. Given this he would do well in any living environment, so long as he has access to greenspace. A home with a yard would be amazing, as he loves to run and play, but if given sufficient exercise he will be good. He really does love to explore and play outdoors, so an active family that shares his love of nature would be perfect. Playing with other dogs is one of King Tutt’s favourite activities. He currently lives with another dog and enjoys his company. King Tutt would do well solo as well, he would just need opportunities to socialize and play with other dogs. King Tutt has not met cats yet, so we are looking for a cat-free home at this time. King Tutt is a busy guy, who needs both physical and mental activities each day. He is gradually learning his leash manners, and enjoys the time outside to sniff. He has shown no signs of reactivity, or fear with other people/dogs, or city sounds. He can pull when he gets excited, so his new family should be prepared to continue working with him with his leash manners. At home King Tutt is learning his house manners with ease. He is house-trained, crate-trained and working on his commands. He has not been given free reign of the house if he is alone yet, as he is curious and may counter surf. King Tutt is not overly food motivated, but he loves to make his humans proud, so training is lots of fun! Prior to coming into care, King Tutt tested positive for Ehrlichia which is a tick-borne infection and is not contagious. A CBC was performed to see if there is an active infection. King Tutt 's CBC came back indicating that there is no active infection however it is recommended that Ehrlichia positive dogs get an annual blood test to monitor and that pre-op blood work including a CBC test and platelet count be performed before any surgeries or dental extractions. King Tutt also has mild enamel hypoplasia which is thinning of the enamel on his teeth. Homecare will help with brushing but he may require professional dental cleaning in the future. He should avoid hard chews, toys, and treats as his teeth will be more prone to breaking during play. If you’re interested in adopting King Tutt, please apply at https://www.fetchandreleash.ca/adoption-info#adoption-form King Tutt’s adoption fee is $850. Ranger is the tallest of the males in his litter of 10. He is vocal and loves to tell you about his day and then tell you again! He loves to be pet and looks at a gate as a challenge, not a barrier. He is a typical busy puppy, who loves to play, run, and wrestle. He will be a large dog, as both mom and dad are over 75 pounds. He is looking for a forever home that has some experience with the food motivated lab and stubborn mastiff. It is recommended that he attend a puppy socialization class to become comfortable with friends who are not his siblings. He will be visiting the vet this week for his vaccines, flea and tick treatment, microchip, and wellness screening. He will come with a voucher for his neuter at 6 months of age at our vet in Woodstock. His adoption fee is $500. You must be 21 years old to adopt and provide vet and personal references. An application to adopt him can be found on our website www.oxfordcountyanimalrescue.com. Click on Adopt, then Dogs for Adoption and scroll to the bottom of the page. All applications are reviewed, and if we feel you might be a good fit for him, you will be contacted to arrange a home visit as well as for permission to speak with your vet. Repeated phone calls and emails with not advance your application. We are a volunteer, foster based rescue and there is no opportunity to meet him before an application has been approved. We thankyou for respecting these guidelines.

Story
🐾Miss Cedar is available for foster, foster to adopt and adoption.❤️ Cedar has been with us since April 2021. She is literally one of our OG's at F.A.B.R. Cedar has been living with me for almost 4 years. This dog has taught me so much! She did get to be in a foster home for a couple of months. Due to the management plan set in place not being followed as requested, she did not do as well as she could have. Cedar deserves her own home and family. This dog has completely done a 180 from the dig she was 4 years ago. She's a beautiful soul full of love and loyalty. She is honestly such an amazing dog and it's baffling to us she is still with us. Not that we mind at all!!! Cedar does not currently live in a kennel. She freely roams our rescue room where 4 males are kenneled individually. She has her own bed, toys and has free run of the entire space. The boys love interacting with her, she does like to be goofy and put on a show for them lol. Name: Cedar Age: 6 years old Breed: Mastiff Mix Energy: Low to medium Weight: 100 lbs Spay/Neuter: Yes Dogs: Needs proper intro, does better with males. Females are a NO! Cats: Yes, dog savvy cats only. Kids: Yes but we feel an adult home only is recommended Crate Trained: Yes House Trained: Yes Any Aggression (food or other): Comes from an abusive past, therefore needs a quieter household with a strong leader who she can trust and feel safe with. She does great with woman, men she is extremely selective and needs more time and patience to bond with them. Would do best in a female only home but can live with an adult male she connects with. And if there's 2 adults in the home, both people have to be fully involved in her care. Here's a message from our girl! "Hello everyone, I am so excited to introduce myself. My name is Cedar and I am a fun girl who loves to play! I had a bit of a rough start to life as my previous life had some abuse on my previous pet parent and me. Which makes me nervous is negative situations but I’ve become really good at staying calm when my rescue mom is by my side because I know she will keep me safe. I've had a blast playing with my step brothers Jax and Kane. They can sure tire me out! Those dudes don't stop playing. While I could live with another brother my size, if I am being 100% honest I would absolutely love to be the only animal in the house so that I can take all the love and pets for myself. I do get jealous of other dogs and can be reactive. I have been with my rescue mom for awhile now and as much as I am living a good life with them, I am ready to find my forever family. I am looking for a family who has experience and see's the value in consistent training and working their dog. While my leash skills are good, I was under socialized in my early years, but don't worry I am a really quick learner and I get so much joy from it! And my foster mom is great at socializing me! I know some basic commands and would love to learn more! Oh! It would be wonderful if my forever family liked to get out on adventures because I love taking in all the new smells and fresh air!" Cedar is very smart so takes to training very well, which is great as this has continued to help her progress with building confidence. Because she can be timid or shy, she would do amazing in a home with a confident owner. Also she needs an experienced dog handler to lead her. She cannot be in a hectic home or a home with people who are not gentle with her. Due to her abuse in her pass, a home with hand raising and yelling will cause Cedar to be reactive. In a quiet loving fun home, shes a charcater who makes you laugh and is great a cuddling. A home with limited guest is best suited for her.
