Max is an energetic, special boy! Max loves people but when he gets excited he can be quite mouthy and when he doesn’t get his way can be pushy. These are typical puppy behaviours but unfortunately he didn’t get the necessary training and guidance as he grew older and larger. Our Trainer will work with the successful adopters to ensure a successful transition. Potential adopters should expect to attend up to 6 (complimentary) training classes with his Trainer. ABOUT MAX: - Cane Corso Mix, Large-sized, High-energy - 6 year-old, Male, 75 lbs - Max came to EHS as an unclaimed stray - Max loves to go on hikes and runs and to play with his toys and interactive games - Max is neutered, house-trained, microchipped and has core vaccinations MAX’S IDEAL HOME: - A family that lives in a quiet neighbourhood - Rural area preferred - Previous dog experience required - Active but patient and calm family that is willing to give him plenty of exercise - Experience handling large breed dogs and committed to continuing his training - No other pets, no children and few visitors in the home Are you the special adopter for this special boy? Ranger is vocal and loves to tell you about his day and then tell you again! He loves to be pet and looks at a gate as a challenge, not a barrier. He can be stubborn and defiant, so a strong Alpha owner is needed or he will take control. He is a powerful puller on leash, so a harness is best. He likes car rides and is crate trained. He is looking for a forever home that has some experience with the food motivated lab and stubborn mastiff. Due to his size and strength, older children are best. He has a great smile, and will show all his teeth when he is happy or nervous. He is up to date with his vaccines, flea and tick treated, microchipped, Heartworm negative and is neutered. His adoption fee is $500. You must be 21 years old to adopt and provide vet and personal references. An application to adopt him can be found on our website www.oxfordcountyanimalrescue.com. Click on Adopt, then Dogs for Adoption and scroll to the bottom of the page. All applications are reviewed, and if we feel you might be a good fit for him, you will be contacted to arrange a home visit as well as for permission to speak with your vet. Repeated phone calls and emails with not advance your application. We are a volunteer, foster based rescue and there is no opportunity to meet him before an application has been approved. In fact he is already and waiting at the door for you! He is an intelligent dog who is capable of learning extremely quickly. He already knows the commands sit, down, stay, come, and speak! Kodiak’s greatest strength is his loyalty; Up or down, good or bad, happy or sad it will be Kodiak and you against the world. What makes Kodiak special is that he has so much love to give. The exact reasons you are looking for a dog are the same reason Kodiak desperately wants his forever human. He will need a very active adult-only family to drain his energy in order to keep him happy. Kodiak is looking for an experienced and confident owner to continue working on his reactivity to dogs and new people. He will need a strong leader to slowly introduce him to new people using the methods he has been taught while at Dog Tales. Kodiak is not friendly with strangers, children or other animals. Therefore he will need to live in a house with a fully fenced backyard. Once he is comfortable with a person he will become very attached and a great listener. Kodiak is looking for his chance with someone special. Upon adoption, Dog Tales can provide training for Kodiak and you in order to set you up for success.
