Story
Ranger is vocal and loves to tell you about his day and then tell you again! He loves to be pet and looks at a gate as a challenge, not a barrier. He can be stubborn and defiant, so a strong Alpha owner is needed or he will take control. He is a powerful puller on leash, so a harness is best. He likes car rides and is crate trained. He is looking for a forever home that has some experience with the food motivated lab and stubborn mastiff. Due to his size and strength, older children are best. He has a great smile, and will show all his teeth when he is happy or nervous. He is up to date with his vaccines, flea and tick treated, microchipped, Heartworm negative and is neutered. His adoption fee is $500. You must be 21 years old to adopt and provide vet and personal references. An application to adopt him can be found on our website www.oxfordcountyanimalrescue.com. Click on Adopt, then Dogs for Adoption and scroll to the bottom of the page. All applications are reviewed, and if we feel you might be a good fit for him, you will be contacted to arrange a home visit as well as for permission to speak with your vet. Repeated phone calls and emails with not advance your application. We are a volunteer, foster based rescue and there is no opportunity to meet him before an application has been approved. We thankyou for respecting these guidelines.

Re-introducing Noelle! Noelle Fostered in London, On Vaccinated & Spayed & Microchipped Adoption Fee: $500 Mastiff Mix (our best guess) Hi, I’m Noelle! I’m about 4 years old, and I’m a Mastiff mix who started life as a stray—but thankfully, I was rescued. I’ve been waiting over a year for my perfect forever home, and I think it’s finally my time to tell the world about myself since I've been introduced last. I love going for walks and car rides, but most of all, I adore my people. I’m happiest right by your side (or on your lap, if you’ll let me!). I’m gentle, affectionate, and wonderful with kids I’ve had more stress in my life than a girl like me deserves, so sometimes I can be a bit reactive. The good news is I’ve made amazing progress with my foster family and my friends at Holy Sit Training. I usually walk really well—especially if you bring treats (hint hint!) I am officially Heartworm negative!! which now allows me to get my zoomies out and make you laugh Every now and then, things like certain dogs, motorcycles, or other wheeled vehicles can make me anxious. When that happens, I might jump around or try to chase, so I’ll need someone strong and confident to help guide me—I’m about 80 lbs, after all! I’m very food-motivated and eager to please, which makes training fun and rewarding. I do have a high prey drive (skunks beware) , and while I’m curious about the resident cat in my foster home, she’s not too interested in being my friend… although we’ve been caught almost snuggling once. I’d love a home with a fenced yard (at least 4 feet—I can leap like a ballerina!). Most importantly, I’m looking for someone patient and experienced who can continue helping me grow with structure and training. In return, you’ll get the most loving, loyal cuddle bug you’ve ever met. I just know my perfect person is out there—could it be you? -Noelle BSDRO Foster Dog XOXO

Story
Hello! My name is London!I`m a fun and loving girl! I am snuggly and affectionate. I love treats and toys, which makes training a blast! I sometimes get excited and like to grab sleeves with my mouth. I thought that was fun but apparently humans don`t enjoy it as much as I do. No worries though, I`m super smart and doing well with training - I`m learning about other fun things to do instead. If you love cuddling, playing and snoring, I am definitely the girl for you!MY IDEAL HOME INVOLVES…CHILDREN: Teenagers may be ok. No young kids given my mouthing can sometimes be hard.OTHER DOGS: I don`t seem to enjoy the company of other dogs and I`m looking to be the only dog.CATS: Potentially, with cat experienced and confident around dogs.FIRST-TIME DOG OWNERS: I would do best with someone who has dog experience.FENCED-IN YARD: Required.HOUSING ENVIRONMENT: Any with yard.SOMEONE HOME MOST OF THE DAY: Not necessarily.SOME OTHER THINGS TO KNOW ABOUT ME…ACTIVITY LEVEL: Medium.HOUSE-TRAINED: Yes.If you think I could be a good match for your home, click the “Adopt Me” button to apply!FOSTER ME! I’m excited to be selected as part of the Paisley Project and I’m looking for a foster home! If your home environment matches what I’m looking for based on the information above, please consider applying to foster me by copying and pasting the following link to fill out the questionnaire: https://guelphhumane.ca/wp-admin/admin-ajax.php?action=frm_forms_preview&form=7y88o.The Paisley Project aims to match selected, long-stay animals at GHS with fosters that can provide a home that gradually introduces them to the everyday experiences of life as a pet. Story
Hello! My name is Belle!I`m a sweet girl but can be timid with new people and skittish of new or unexpected things. In my time at GHS, I`ve been learning that people are safe and kind. I am looking forward to joining a home that continues to show me how gentle humans are. I really am a sensitive but gentle giant. As I come out of my shell, you will see me run around and play with toys just like a puppy. Age is just a number, right? I am curious about other dogs and seem to enjoy meeting calm dogs, but no thank you to puppy rambunctiousness! I`m just looking for a calm home where I can spend my retirement years.ADOPTION CRITERIA:MY IDEAL HOME INVOLVES…CHILDREN: I`m looking for a calm, adult-only home given my sensitive nature.OTHER DOGS: Yes, with a calm, respectful dog.CATS: Yes, with cats confident or experienced living with a dog.FIRST-TIME DOG OWNERS: I would do best with someone who has previous dog experience.FENCED-IN YARD: Not necessary.HOUSING ENVIRONMENT: No busy or large apartment buildings given I get skittish of sudden noises/movements.SOMEONE HOME MOST OF THE DAY: Not necessarily.SOME OTHER THINGS TO KNOW ABOUT ME…ACTIVITY LEVEL: Low-medium.HOUSE-TRAINED: Yes.If you think I could be a good match for your home, click the “Adopt Me” button to apply!

Story
Oscar is a handsome three-year-old Mastiff cross with a big body and an even bigger heart. This lovable giant has quickly become a staff favorite thanks to his sweet nature, eagerness to please, and calm presence in his kennel. Despite his size, Oscar is a gentle soul who enjoys spending time with people and thrives on connection and positive interaction. Oscar is a medium-energy dog with short bursts of playful enthusiasm —especially when toys are involved! He absolutely loves playtime and is easy to redirect, making him a great candidate for continued training. He’s a smart boy who responds well to guidance and is already showing that he has the potential to become a well-mannered, balanced companion with the right structure in place. Due to his size, strength, and current lack of manners, Oscar is looking for a home with large-breed experience and a confident, physically capable handler. He doesn’t quite realize how big he is, so ongoing positive reinforcement training will be key to helping him learn boundaries and polite behaviors. Enrolling him in training classes is strongly recommended and will set him up for success. Oscar does show some reactivity toward other dogs, particularly males that react to him. However, his behavior is manageable with the right approach. He would benefit from a home committed to maintaining safe distances, using high-value rewards to build positive associations, and consistently working on obedience while keeping him under threshold. With patience, structure, and continued guidance, Oscar has great potential to make progress in this area. Because of his size and strength, a home without young children is recommended. Oscar will also need daily physical exercise and mental enrichment to keep him happy and fulfilled. The good news is that he settles well in his kennel and may do very well with crate training in his future home. Oscar is a sweet, intelligent dog who is ready to thrive with the right match. With consistency, training, and lots of love, he has all the makings of a loyal, well-balanced companion. Please complete an adoption application: https://www.hamilton.ca/home-neighbourhood/animals-pets/adopt-or-foster-pet/adoptions Animal adoptions and viewing are by appointment only. This allows our Adoption Staff to spend quality time with each potential home to ensure the most successful matches are made between the animals and their new families. *Please note: we only adopt within Ontario
