Story
Ranger is vocal and loves to tell you about his day and then tell you again! He loves to be pet and looks at a gate as a challenge, not a barrier. He can be stubborn and defiant, so a strong Alpha owner is needed or he will take control. He is a powerful puller on leash, so a harness is best. He likes car rides and is crate trained. He is looking for a forever home that has some experience with the food motivated lab and stubborn mastiff. Due to his size and strength, older children are best. He has a great smile, and will show all his teeth when he is happy or nervous. He is up to date with his vaccines, flea and tick treated, microchipped, Heartworm negative and is neutered. His adoption fee is $500. You must be 21 years old to adopt and provide vet and personal references. An application to adopt him can be found on our website www.oxfordcountyanimalrescue.com. Click on Adopt, then Dogs for Adoption and scroll to the bottom of the page. All applications are reviewed, and if we feel you might be a good fit for him, you will be contacted to arrange a home visit as well as for permission to speak with your vet. Repeated phone calls and emails with not advance your application. We are a volunteer, foster based rescue and there is no opportunity to meet him before an application has been approved. We thankyou for respecting these guidelines.

Story
Meet Tango — a 4–5-month-old Mastiff/Lab cross puppy with giant paws, a growing personality, and enough charm to bulldoze his way straight into your heart. Tango arrived at the shelter as a “stray,” which honestly feels hard to believe because this sweet boy clearly thinks people are pretty wonderful. Like many puppies, he can be a little shy when meeting new people at first but give him about five minutes and suddenly you’ve got a wiggly best friend following you around like you’ve known each other forever. He’s playful, social, goofy, and currently at that fantastic puppy stage where every single thing in the world is exciting. A leaf blowing across the yard? Incredible. A squeaky toy? Life-changing. Your shoelaces? His greatest enemy. Tango also arrived with Demodex Mange, which he has been treated for and is recovering from nicely. Demodex mange is a common skin condition in puppies caused by microscopic mites that naturally live on dogs’ skin. Young puppies can sometimes develop it when their immune systems are still maturing, leading to hair loss, irritated skin, and scabbing. The good news is that it is treatable, and Tango is already healing well — his scabs are improving, his skin is recovering, and now that he’s starting to feel better, his happy puppy personality is really shining through. This handsome boy already knows “sit,” and he’s eager to learn more. Continued obedience training and crate training will be very important as he grows, especially because Tango is expected to become a large dog. Right now, he may just be an oversized puppy with floppy enthusiasm, but one day he’ll be an oversized adult dog with floppy enthusiasm — so starting his training early will help him become the very best version of himself. As a Mastiff/Lab mix, Tango will need plenty of daily exercise, mental enrichment, and positive guidance to keep both his body and his big puppy brain happy. Puzzle toys, walks, training games, and family adventures will all help this growing boy thrive. Overall, Tango is exactly what many people dream of in a family dog: affectionate, playful, social, and full of potential. He just needs a home willing to put in the time, patience, and training needed to help a young puppy grow into a confident, well-balanced companion. Please complete an adoption application: https://www.hamilton.ca/home-neighbourhood/animals-pets/adopt-or-foster-pet/adoptions Tracker has a future appointment to be neutered once he is fully recovered. His adopters must be willing to return him to a Hamilton clinic for this surgery, which is included in the adoption fee. Animal adoptions and viewing are by appointment only. This allows our Adoption Staff to spend quality time with each potential home to ensure the most successful matches are made between the animals and their new families. *Please note: we only adopt within Ontario

Story
India Rottweiler/Boxer/Dogo Argentino mix (short coat) Large Adult Female   This gorgeous brindle gal is India a 4 year old, 100 pound mixed breed dog who will be up to date on her veterinary care and spayed prior to adoption.  Her current family is not able to provide her with the time or care she deserves.   India is housetrained and crate trained, although, a crate has not been used in the past year or so.  She is used to living in an apartment and is said to be quiet and comfortable being left alone while her family works full-time hours.  She may whine initially when left in a new environment.  She enjoys daily walks for exercise and to do her business.   India is a Mastiff mix, and as such, will most likely become very attached to her family members but may initially be a bit wary of new people and animals.  She warms up to women more quickly than men.  India is currently living with 2 toddlers and is good with them.   India has very limited experience with other dogs and has not lived with another dog.  She has a Husky friend she likes to interact with on leash.  She may react to other dogs when on leash walks who are as far away as on the other side of the street and needs a strong and confident owner to help her work through this behaviour using positive reinforcement based methods.  She has also never lived with a cat.   Her family is able to bathe and brush her and she has been professionally groomed.  Her regular groomer says she is good for grooms.  At the veterinarian, she is muzzled for invasive handling.  Muzzles can be a great tool to help dog handlers feel safe.   If you are looking for a loyal, large breed dog to snuggle with on the couch and believe you can provide India with the care she deserves, please fill out the Adoption Application on our website.     June 18, 2026, 6:49 pm

Story
Easy-going & Affectionate HIs Foster Mom says he is ‘Delightful! A well-adjusted dog and happy to go along with whatever you’re doing.” An absolute cuddle-bug who just wants to be near his people. He will lean in against you for affection and paw at you for moreBIO: - Lab/Mastiff Mix, 2.5 years old, Male - Large (80 lb), Medium-energy- From Ginoogaming, transported by Northern Connection Dog Rescue- Remi is house-trained, microchipped and has his core vaccinations ABOUT REMI: - Good on a leash, he will show interest in other dogs with a wagging tail- Great in the car — hops right in, settles down and relaxes- There have been no signs of separation anxiety while in foster care- Overall he is chill and can show some shyness, especially at first, but he’ll open up fast and be putting his head on your lap for a nap before you know it- Very attentive and eager to connect — likely very trainable, you just need to find the right treats because he is not food-motivated and at dinner time he is more of a grazerREMI’S IDEAL HOME:- Besides being by your side, one of his favourite things is getting outside for a walk and some sniff time. His future family should be ready to enjoy daily walks with him.- Remi is a strong boy physically, but on walks he is mostly loose leash and he shows interest in meeting other dogs and may pull for that but is easily re-directed with a verbal reminder- A shared-wall situation may be okay, Remi is more of a gentle communicator than a barker- Remi has lived with cats before, if his potential adopter has a cat we will arrange a meet and greet- He has lived with children in the past and may be fine with children again. Older dog-savvy children that understand that slow and calm is best would be idealIf you’re looking for a loyal companion with a soft heart and calm presence, this sweet boy may be your perfect match! For more information about Remi visit our website at: https://etobicokehumanesociety.com/dog/adopt-remi/
