Story
Ranger is vocal and loves to tell you about his day and then tell you again! He loves to be pet and looks at a gate as a challenge, not a barrier. He can be stubborn and defiant, so a strong Alpha owner is needed or he will take control. He is a powerful puller on leash, so a harness is best. He likes car rides and is crate trained. He is looking for a forever home that has some experience with the food motivated lab and stubborn mastiff. Due to his size and strength, older children are best. He has a great smile, and will show all his teeth when he is happy or nervous. He is up to date with his vaccines, flea and tick treated, microchipped, Heartworm negative and is neutered. His adoption fee is $500. You must be 21 years old to adopt and provide vet and personal references. An application to adopt him can be found on our website www.oxfordcountyanimalrescue.com. Click on Adopt, then Dogs for Adoption and scroll to the bottom of the page. All applications are reviewed, and if we feel you might be a good fit for him, you will be contacted to arrange a home visit as well as for permission to speak with your vet. Repeated phone calls and emails with not advance your application. We are a volunteer, foster based rescue and there is no opportunity to meet him before an application has been approved. A full-body lean or her head resting gently in your lap.BIO: - St. Bernard/Mastiff Mix, 5.5 Years, Female (spayed)- Extra-large (95 lb) High-energy - Daisy was found as a stray and was at an over-crowded municipal shelter before coming to EHS- Daisy is house-trained, microchipped and has her core vaccinationsABOUT DAISY- Daisy`s 3 favourite things are sniffing-walks, enjoying a treat filled kong and getting pats from you - Daisy walks mostly loose-leash, but can pull when she sees a small critter and she can be strong. She shows interest in other dogs she sees on a walk but is not reactive, only letting out the occasional bark or just stopping to observe- A friendly and social girl she loves hanging with people and greets everyone she meets with happy tail wagsDAISY`S IDEAL HOME:- Daisy would thrive with a family that can provide regular walks, playtime, and plenty of affection- We are recommending Daisy for an adult-only home with dog-experienced owners (preferably experienced with Bully or Mastiff breeds)- Daisy needs to have what she is communicating listened to and understood- She would do well in a quieter area, she is not well-suited for a busy downtown area, she can be sound sensitive to loud traffic or noises- Daisy can sometimes be vocal, she would do better in a non-shared wall situation- We are not recommending her for a home with other petsDaisy is proof that the biggest dogs often have the most sensitive hearts If you have any questions about Daisy, contact her Adoption Coordinator at: dog.adoption.coordinator3@etobicokehumanesociety.com
