My name is Canela, and I'm a lovable French Mastiff with a big heart and an even bigger love for cuddles (even though I'm a big girl at ~120 lbs!). I was rescued from DAS in January 2020, and my current family believes Iâ&#194&#128&#194&#153m about 7â&#194&#128&#194&#1478 years oldâ&#194&#128&#194&#148but donâ&#194&#128&#194&#153t let that fool you. Iâ&#194&#128&#194&#153m young at heart and still full of life! I adore being around people and thrive on companionship. Whether itâ&#194&#128&#194&#153s going for a walk, lounging around the house, or joining on car rides (my favorite!), Iâ&#194&#128&#194&#153m just happiest when Iâ&#194&#128&#194&#153m with my family. I'm not a fan of hot summer days, thoughâ&#194&#128&#194&#148give me a cool floor and a fan, and I'm golden. Iâ&#194&#128&#194&#153m potty trained and am trusted with free roam of the house. I know a few basic commandsâ&#194&#128&#194&#148okay, mostly just â&#194&#128&#194&#156sit,â&#194&#128&#194&#157 but I do it well! Iâ&#194&#128&#194&#153m spayed, so no puppies in my future, and I get along great with kids, seniors, other dogs, and even cats. Iâ&#194&#128&#194&#153m just that friendly. Some of my favorite things include: Soft jerky treats (beef, please!) PetSmart visits Riding in the car Dining at dog-friendly restaurants Cuddling on the couch Sadly, my dad is no longer able to care for me due to his health issues, and with a heavy heart, heâ&#194&#128&#194&#153s looking for a loving new home where Iâ&#194&#128&#194&#153ll be just as spoiled and cherished. She can be a little shy at first, but beneath that is a loyal, loving girl who just wants to feel safe and understood.With patience and a gentle touch, Brazil is learning to trust again and show her true, affectionate nature. She’s searching for a calm, caring home where she can finally relax, be herself, and know she’s truly loved- could that be you?FOSTER REASON: I am being treated for heartworms and awaiting a dental procedure, so I will need a calm home to relax in due to being under exercise restriction while undergoing treatment. This means I will need to be a couch potato and go for leash walks only! My foster family should be comfortable bringing me to the SPCA of Texas periodically for vet visits. Come meet me from 12 PM to 6 PM, open every day. No application or appointment required - walk-ins welcome. My husband and I have come to the difficult realization that we just aren't able to give him the time, attention, and care that he truly deserves. We are both very busy with work, and it has become overwhelming trying to meet all of his needs while balancing everything else. He is such a loving boy who absolutely loves attention, affection, and being around people. He deserves a family that can give him the time, love, and companionship he needs every single day, and right now we know we can't provide that for him. As heartbreaking as this decision is, we truly believe that surrendering him for adoption is the best choice for his well-being. Our biggest hope is that he finds a loving home where he can thrive and receive all the attention and care he deserves.
