Meet Sydney! 🌼 This beautiful 1-year-old, 11-pound long-haired dachshund mix has had such an inspiring transformation since arriving at the rescue. When she first came in, Sydney was timid and unsure, keeping to herself and watching the world from a distance. But with time, gentle care, and patient encouragement… she blossomed. Now? Sydney is a total lovebug! 💖 She seeks out attention, enjoys being snuggled, and happily greets the people she trusts. Her confidence grows more every day, and she’s showing us just how sweet and affectionate she truly is. Sydney absolutely adores other dogs and will thrive in a home with a friendly, confident canine companion to show her the ropes. She’s especially fond of our boy Muggle — they make quite the cute pair! If you’re looking for a gentle, sweet girl who’s ready to keep growing in a loving home, Sydney might just be the perfect match.

Meet Tex – Your Loyal Little Lookout! 🐾 Tex is an approximately 2-year-old Dachshund/Chihuahua mix (or at least that’s our best guess), and he’s the perfect blend of small size and big heart. This sweet boy came to us from a rural shelter where he was very shut down and scared. Since arriving in his foster home, Tex has truly blossomed into a much more relaxed and confident pup. Now that he knows he’s safe, Tex enjoys the comforts of home life: lounging around, following his humans, and hanging out with the other dogs in the house. He’s also curious about the cats, though if they dart off too quickly, he might give a bark or two to let them know he noticed. Tex is an excellent little alert dog who takes his job seriously. If something unusual is happening around the property or if a sneaky squirrel dares to raid the bird feeder, Tex will sound the alarm. He’s got a great nose for mischief and will keep your porch squirrel-free. Tex would thrive in a calm, low-activity home where he can build a strong bond with his adopter. Once he knows he’s safe and loved, he’ll likely become your loyal little shadow. Tex is neutered, microchipped, and up to date on all vaccines and preventions. Please note: Tex is only eligible for local adoption in the San Antonio area at this time. It took him several months to fully warm up in his foster home, and we are hoping to find an adopter nearby. If any issues arise, we want to ensure we can easily bring him back into our care. If you are in the San Antonio area and looking for a sweet and loyal companion, Tex might just be the perfect fit. Born around November 8, 2024, this sweet Dachshund mix weighs just 14 pounds—the perfect size for cuddles and companionship. Cindy Lou came to us with her sister Wendy after their previous owner had to move and couldn’t take them along. Thankfully, a kind-hearted Petsmart employee stepped in and asked for help, and now Cindy Lou is ready to find a forever home of her own! Cindy Lou is a toy-loving, dog-friendly girl who absolutely loves attention. Whether it's playtime or cuddle time, she’s happiest when she’s around people and other pups. With her loving personality and bright spirit, she’ll make a wonderful addition to any home. Her adoption fee is $300, and you can apply to meet this little love at www.adoggie4you.org. Give Cindy Lou the second chance she deserves—you’ll gain a loyal friend for life. This dog is currently in Texas; however, it can be transported to Washington, Portland (Oregon), Minneapolis, Milwaukee, Chicago, Des Moines, Omaha, Cincinnati, Lexington KY or all along the East Coast.
