FOSTER OR FOREVER HOME NEEDED Meet Freddie! Freddie is a 1-year-old, 13 lb Chiweenie looking for a special home where he can be the center of someone’s world. This handsome little guy is incredibly smart, affectionate, and full of personality. Once he trusts you, he’ll become your most loyal companion and happiest little shadow. Freddie is house-trained, crate-trained, and has wonderful manners in the home. In fact, every evening he’ll happily tuck himself into his crate when it’s time for bed! He’s a quick learner and is very food motivated, already knowing commands like sit, stay, come, shake, and paw, with more training already underway. He loves having a job to do and will thrive with adopters who enjoy continuing his training. When he’s not learning new tricks, Freddie loves snuggling under blankets, playing fetch with his favorite squeaky toys, chewing on antlers, and heading out for long walks or hikes. He’s always happy to tag along on adventures with his people and would love a family that includes him in their daily activities. While he may need a little encouragement getting into the car, once he’s in, he’s ready to enjoy the ride. Freddie is looking for an adult-only home with no cats or young children. While he can coexist with other dogs after slow, careful introductions, he has shown that he prefers being the only dog in the home where he doesn’t have to share his people. He can be territorial of his home and family, so he’ll need patient adopters who understand that he likes to take his time getting to know new people and visitors. Freddie is UTD on vaccinations, microchipped, and neutered. His adoption fee is $500.

FOSTER OR FOREVER HOME NEEDED Meet Georgie! Georgie is a 4-year-old, 11 lb Chiweenie who came to us as a stray from an overcrowded shelter. Georgie is a loving little companion who enjoys being close to his people. Whether he’s snuggled up in your arms, heading out for a neighborhood walk, or joining you on an adventure, he’s happiest when he’s by your side. Georgie has done well with other dogs and would love a home with a friendly canine companion to help keep him socialized and provide a playmate. He could also do well as an only dog, provided his adopters are committed to continuing his socialization and giving him plenty of opportunities to get out and experience the world. Like many little dogs, he can occasionally show a bit of “boss man” energy, but it’s all part of his fun personality. Because Georgie can be a little sensitive to busy surroundings, he’d thrive in a quieter home outside of the hustle and bustle of the city. A calm neighborhood where he can enjoy daily walks, explore at his own pace, and build confidence will help him be his very best self. Found on the side of a Texan highway at 6 months old, Nala had a tough start to life, but after a short stretch in a foster home, she joined my family where she has been loved and cared for like nobody’s business. Nala is now 5 years old and has been with the same family since her initial adoption. She’s the SWEETEST girl & wants nothing more than to snuggle her human all day every day, but given her start in life, she can be fearful/defensive. In particular she struggles with men & young children. She would do best as the only pet in an home. Any rehoming fee is only being collected to ensure her safety, and will be donated to the shelter I adopted her from.

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Meet  Mowie , a charming Chihuahua/Terrier mix with a survival story as cool as the storm he escaped!   Born around  August 4, 2024 , and weighing in at a sturdy  15.9 pounds , Mowie is the definition of a "tough guy with a heart of gold." He was discovered hanging around the guard shack at  Randolph AFB  just as a major ice storm was rolling in. The kind-hearted guards had been sharing their lunches with him to keep him going, but they knew he needed a warm hearth to survive the freeze.   Mowie is a truly great boy who is ready to trade base security for home security. He does have one quirky "occupational hazard": he’s a bit of a serial humper when it comes to other dogs, which hasn't always won him friends at the park. However, he was  recently neutered , and we are optimistic that this will help him keep his "enthusiasm" in check as his hormones settle down.   Mowie’s Stats: Birthday:  ~08/04/2024 (approx. 1.5 years old) Weight:  15.9 lbs Background:  Air Force Base veteran & lunch-sharing expert Personality:  Resilient, social, and brave If you’re looking for a loyal companion who has been "cleared for duty," Mowie is your man!
