Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Hello there, I'm Marcel, the smartest, funniest dog you'll ever meet. My previous owner had a stroke, and in all the confusion, I ended up at the shelter. Now, don't get me wrong, it's not a bad place, but it's no five-star hotel either. Once, I tried to make a break for it, using my superior intellect to pick the lock with a chewed up bone. It was going perfectly until I realized I was 'escaping' into the vet's office! Talk about a plot twist! I ended up with a lampshade on  my head and some missing family jewels.  Despite my hilarious mishaps, I'm a real sweetheart who loves to play and explore. When I first meet you I can be a little cautious, but once I know you I'm energetic and friendly, and I promise to keep you laughing. If you're looking for a loyal companion with a sense of humor, then I'm your guy! To adopt this dog, please fill out an application at www.adoggie4you.org.  He was born around 01/11/2023 and weighs 22.5 pounds.  His adoption fee is $300.   This dog is currently in Texas; however, it can be transported to Washington, Portland (Oregon), Minneapolis, Milwaukee, Chicago, Des Moines, Omaha, Cincinnati, Lexington KY or all along the East Coast. If transported, there is an additional transport fee of $225. We do not transport to Rhode Island or Massachusetts due to their regulations. Story
Hi there, I'm Eddie. I’m a daschund mix, around 16lbs and well I’m a bit older than 8 years old, but I like to keep my age a bit of a mystery … just to keep life interesting. I am a handsome man who gets along great with other dogs AND cats, once we get a proper introduction. I can be a little shy of everyone but I warm up quickly and then just try and ignore my desire for belly rubs. Despite my short legs I love going for walks and playing in the yard. I am a good boy in the car and have visited lots of other people and houses and I am never naughty. I do enjoy going in my crate at night but I roam the house in the day time. I love being close to my people, but I promise I won't spend all my time in your lap. I listen really well and despite my short stature, I don't bark a lot. Please say I can join your family!! *All of The Right to Live dogs are fostered locally in San Antonio Texas and will be transported to other states to their new families upon adoption. We believe fostering dogs and not having them decompress in a kennelled environment is more beneficial for the dogs and builds their trust and companionship in a family situation. Adoption fee includes transportation costs, previous/current medical treatment (spay/neuter, etc.) and a health certificate for cross-state travel*

Story
HE WAS FOUND WITH TWO PUPPIES UNDER A HIGHWAY BRIDGE. UNFORTUNATELY, ONE OF THEM TESTED POSITIVE FOR DISTEMPER AND, BECAUSE THE DISEASE WAS ALREADY VERY ADVANCED, HE DIED A FEW DAYS AFTER STARTING HIS TREATMENT. ELMER AND THE OTHER PUPPY, TITAN, WERE PLACED IN QUARANTINE AS A PREVENTIVE MEASURE. HOWEVER, ONE DAY AFTER THE END OF QUARANTINE, TITAN SHOWED DISTEMPOR SYMPTOMS AND, LIKE THE FIRST PUPPY, DIED DESPITE RECEIVING TREATMENT. THIS WAS HOW ELMER BECAME THE ONLY SURVIVOR OF THIS RESCUE. TODAY ELMER IS COMPLETELY HEALTHY AND WITHOUT ANY KIND OF SEQUEL AND IS LOOKING FOR A LOVING FAMILY THAT WILL CONSENT HIM. ELMER IS A FAITHFUL COMPANION WHO LOVES TO BE HUGGED AND Cuddled. HE WILL LOVE TO TAKE WALKS AND WALKS WITH YOU. IT IS PLAYFUL AND FRIENDLY, WHICH MAKES IT IDEAL TO BE WITH CHILDREN AND LITTLE ONES. HE LIKES TO EXPLORE, DISCOVER NEW THINGS, MEET PEOPLE AND ABOVE ALL PLAY. The $550.00 adoption fee covers the following: Transport to Oregon or Washington. Spay/Neuter. All vaccines up to date. Deworming (puppies 2 sets). Flea medication up to date. Tick control up to date. Microchip. Microchip registration to new owner paid for. Collar. Temporary leash.

Ranger just joined our program and while we are not sure what breed he actually is, we have been told Dachshund Lab mix...Corgi Lab mix or possibly Corgi German Shepherd mix. The truth is, we just don't know however we do lean towards a Dachshund mix of some sort. What we do know is that he is so stinking adorable and was on his way to the shelter and we could not let that happen so....here he is! Apply to adopt Ranger at our website at www.txlabrescue.org

Story
FOREVER HOME NEEDED Introducing Sam! He is a 1-year-old, 21 lb dachshund mix who came to us from an overcrowded shelter in CA. He is currently living in a foster home. In his foster mom’s words: “Sam is a squishy, squeezy, kissable, lovable loaf of sweet bread and an all-around good boy.” Sam is a very sweet and playful boy! He loves playing with toys and tennis balls and he can keep himself entertained tossing them around, but really loves when you play with him, too. After a relatively short burst of play time energy, he is ready to relax for a long nap on the bed or couch. He enjoys being included in family time, whether that is hanging outside, lounging on the couch, cashing in on frequent belly rubs, or at bedtime. He is a big-time cuddle bug and would love a home that lets him sleep in bed with them and hang out on the couch. He loves giving and getting kisses. He has not exhibited any separation anxieties while staying in foster. He has been fine left alone, crated or uncrated. He does have an affinity for chowing down on things he shouldn’t - pieces of socks, pieces of soft toys, and cardboard egg cartons being his favorite. He is house trained and doggie door trained. If he doesn’t have free access outside via doggie door, he will whine and meet you at the door to be let out when needed. He has a curious nature and needs a secure backyard where the fence meets the ground as he gets curious if he can see/smell under fences and may try going on his own adventure. He loves exploring the yard and burying his treats (unsure if he remembers where he puts them though!!). He can be a bit shy with new visitors and tends to bark at them but will calm down when you show they are trustworthy. It’s been easier for him to meet new people when you pick him up for a slow intro. He is a charmer though and everyone will love his sweet personality. He is otherwise a very quiet dog. He would be fine being the only dog soaking up all the love you have to give or having a similarly sized companion to play with. He enjoys playing with toys with other dogs, as long as any high value toys or treats aren’t stolen from him during solo enjoyment. Being a young pup, he can be a little jumpy, but it is actually rather cute. Sam would prefer a home where extensive car travel is not a frequent occurrence, as long trips can make him car sick. He has had pretty good luck on motion sickness medication, but he’d prefer shorter rides or to hang at home when possible. Sam is UTD on vaccinations, microchipped, and neutered. His adoption fee is $500.

Story
FOSTER OR FOREVER HOME NEEDED Say hello to this cutie, Solo! He is a 1-year-old, 32 lb dachshund/chihuahua mix who came to us from an overcrowded shelter in CA in hopes of finding his forever home here in WA! Solo is super sweet, friendly, and loves to socialize! He has done well with other dogs in our care and would love another playful dog in the home as a playmate, or he would be fine as an only dog with continued socialization. Solo is a strong boy who will need continued work on his leash manners, as well as his basic obedience training. He does learn quickly, however, and is very treat motivated. Solo has a very loving and adventurous personality. He would love a forever home that takes him on daily walks and lets him explore as much of the world as possible! He would do best in an active home that can provide him the physical activity he needs and would love to cuddle up on the couch with his people at the end of the day! Solo is UTD on vaccinations, microchipped, and neutered. His adoption fee is $500.

Story
Animal Profile: Lemon is an adorable dachshund mix who is estimated to be around 1 year old and weighs 18lbs. She was rescued from a high kill shelter in Bakersfield, CA.  Foster Update: Meet Lemon! She is hard to miss with this adorable ears. Lemon is all love, and she is not afraid to let you know it. Lemon's foster mom describes her as follows: "Lemons is a velcro dog- she wants to be in your lap under a blanket and she wants to please her human; she is very quick to roll over on her back and submit to me. She is incredibly sweet, but doesn't know her own strength, which we are working on." Lemon is equal parts snuggle bug, equal part sidekick - she is ready to take on the world with her human! Lemon is being fostered with another dog and they get along well; Lemon often taking cues from the resident pup. However, Lemon does need clear leadership and boundaries to follow when living with another dog. Without a clear understanding of who is in charge, she feels she needs to be the one to protect her human, and she doesn't want that to be the case.  Stay tuned as we continue to get to know Lemon! Adoption Info: Adoption fee is $550 which includes spay/neuter, core vaccinations per AVMA standards, heartworm test if applicable, microchip with registration, andhealth certificate. Your adoption fee may be tax deductible as DGS is a 501c3 organization. All adoption fees go toward the care of all dogs in our rescue.  Apply Online: www.DogGoneSeattle.org/adoption-application Animal History: This dog was rescued from euthanasia at [Animal Shelter] in California, arriving to foster care in Seattle on [DATE]. This dog will be available for adoption in the greater Seattle area once evaluated in foster care.November 25, 2024, 3:54 pm
