Story
Kit Kat is a Miniature Long Haired Dachshund 2 year old. She is such a sweet and loving girl! She is outgoing and curious. She is a bundle of energy, but can also just curl up in your lap for a good snuggle! She is a true miniature dachshund, a little mischievous and always exploring her environment by sniffing things out! She has the most beautiful and expressive eyes, when she looks at you, your heart will melt. She will be a wonderful addition when she finds her forever home. She typically sleeps in the bed with her foster people, but occasionally will want her own space and sleeps on a chair next to the bed. Potty training has been a bit of a struggle. She has been going to fenced in area with just pavers where the other dog goes potty. She goes out multiple times per hour and she continues to go in the house. She has gone on many walks and she hasn’t gone potty along the way. She has pee pads that she hasn’t used either. She also has a small patch of astro turf which she peed on immediately, so far she is not consistent. She has been around another dog that is fairly submissive, and she definitely has a dominate streak. She does get a little possessive with attention from her people. She travels well in a car and is food motivated. Kit Kat just wants to give love and be loved in return. I know she will bring so much joy to anyone who chooses to bring her home! -----

A Quick but Important Note to All Adopters:
Please remember that none of our dogs arrive fully trained. Most come from tough or uncertain beginnings and may have never lived in a home or known basic routines. That means:

✧ They are not potty trained on arrival. Most dogs regress in potty training when moving to a new environment.

✧ They may lack basic manners (like leash walking or appropriate chewing).

✧ They’re learning, growing, and doing their best—but they will need patience, structure, and compassion to succeed.

The majority of these pups have lived in the confinement of a cage or kennel run for most - if not all - of their lives. Because of this, we strongly discourage the use of crates for anything other than vehicle transport. They deserve the chance to decompress and learn what true freedom and comfort feel like.

Our amazing foster homes work hard to start these dogs on the right path, but they are rescues, not finished products. These dogs need time, consistency, and a loving home willing to meet them where they are.

Also, breed designations are our best guesses based on appearance and behavior. We can't guarantee breed, size, adult weight, or coat type.

Story
Wander is A Brave Little Navigator. Don't let his lack of sight and hearing fool you—this adventurous dachshund lives life to the fullest! He is brave, playful, and endlessly curious, Wander has mastered the art of exploring his world through touch, scent, and an incredible memory. Once he's had a chance to map out his environment, he navigates like a pro. He knows exactly where his cozy beds are scattered throughout the house and can even track down his foster mom wherever she's hiding. His five siblings are his trusted companions, and he romps and plays with them confidently, proving that his disabilities are no barrier to fun. Communication with Wander is all about creative connection. He's learning to use his bark and responds beautifully to praise delivered as a gentle hum against his neck—a moment of vibration and warmth that tells him he's loved. He's also learning boundaries through soft puffs of breath on his face, which help him understand his limits in a kind, clear way. This resilient boy is a testament to adaptability and spirit. He's looking for a patient, loving home that will continue nurturing his confidence and celebrating his remarkable ability to thrive. If you're ready for a truly special companion who will inspire you daily, Wander is ready to find his way into your heart. He sleeps in bed with his human. Potty training is a work in progress, but he is improving every day. He is good with other dogs and riding in a car. -----

Story
Luke and Leia go together like peanut butter and jelly! These two youngsters are cute as can be, and full of personality. They are on the shy side but find a lot of comfort and confidence in each other. Luke and Leia do well with other dogs but we don't know if they've ever lived with cats. Any introductions to resident pets should be done slowly. Luke and Leia will likely do best in a home with just dog-experienced teens and adults who can let them settle in at their own pace. If you’re ready to add two terrific pups to your home, send in an adoption application today!
