Story
Meet Chiquita! She is a darling 1 year old, 14 pound, black and tan, Miniature Pinscher/Terrier mix with warm brown eyes. This pretty girl was left at a laundromat by her homeless owner AFTER he sold her puppies! No more abuse for this poor girl! She’s an AFC dog now and will spend the rest of her life loved! She is shy and needs an experienced adopter. She gets along fine with other dogs but would also be fine as an only dog. NO cats! She will chase them. She has gotten very attached to her foster mom in a short period of time and has been sleeping in her bed. She is very loyal to whoever she connects with and must have someone who is active retired or works from home. Chiquita really wants to connect with you. She loves to go for walks and car rides. She appears to be house broken and is using the doggie door. She is a SMART dog and knows the commands: Sit, Down and Shake. She can easily get over a 4-foot fence so please have an escape proof yard / securely fenced yard. She is scheduled to be spayed but we are looking for her home now. She is current on vaccines, microchipped and flea treated. Chiquita will be a loving companion in the right home. Apply today. Here is a list of things that should help us answer you in a more timely manner. 1. When you apply please always use the same email address. If we need to look something up later and you used a different email we are often not able to find it. 2. Adopt a Pet and Petfinders ask you to send us an enquiry. This always delays our response. (Why) a. Our biographies are always very detailed. Therefore sending an enquiry asking us to repeat what it says in the biography causes a lot more work and delays our response. b. We are a small non-profit and do not always have the help to answer as many enquiries as we get. c. Again our Biographies are very detailed and if you just click the link near the bottom of their bio you can fill out an application which we will respond to. 3. For the AFC website (scroll down to the bio at the bottom it says (apply to adopt today- click that link) www.animalfriendsconnect.org 4. For Petfinders ( scroll down to the biography then click the adoption link) http://animalfriendsconnect.org/adoption-application-dogs/ 5. For Adopt a Pet (scroll way down past “Ask about me”) you will see the biography and underneath that will be the adoption questionnaire link. Story
Mitch is the sweetest boy. Approximately 14-18 months, maybe. Certainly not older. Very social with people and other dogs. He appeared on our porch Memorial Day Weekend and adopted us but we have two dogs already. He loves walks, tummy rubs, lazing in the shade, toys and, chasing his own tail. Good on a leash though he does pull. He knows how to sit but needs additional training. We gave him his parvovirus shot. Unknown what others he has. Overall, well behaved, sweet and loving and in need of his person.

Story
Monty loves people. he greets all people with a smile and wagging tail and wants to be petted. Monty barks and is sometimes aggressive to other dogs but will settle down after a short time. Monty loves to cuddle. We adopted Monty from a rescue society in San Francisco in 2016. At the time he was estimated to be 3-4 years old so now he is 11-12 years old. He is super friendly and everyone that knows him, loves him.

NAME:TagSTATS:Male, Min Pin, 10 years, 10 lbs.TEMPERAMENT:Shy at first and when he feels safe, he is your best snuggle buddy..SKILLSPotty trained.Crate trained.Leash trained.Older children only.Good with dogs.Good with cats.Would make a great hiking buddy.MORE ABOUT ME:Likes belly rubs.Couch cuddler.Likes walks.Needs patient owner willing to work on behavior (see details below).ONE LAST THING:Tag is a gorgeous red Miniature Pinscher. He is shy at first with new people. Once he gets to know you he is a snuggly sweet guy. Tag is very sensitive and smart. He is coming out of his shell and amazing transformation. He loves to snuggle. He loves to curl up right on top of you or beside you and just enjoy his time with you. He has been great with dogs that are similar to his size and adapts quickly. He's also got the basics down (kennel trained, potty trained, gets along with other animals) and is ready to find the perfect home. He's pretty vocal when it comes to telling you what he wants. For example, he will bark or whine near the water dish, door (for potty), or food when he wants it. He's so smart and picks up on things pretty quickly.Tag needs time to adjust and decompress in new situations. He is quite skittish and weary of new people. Because he is skittish, he would do best in an all adult home or a home with older, patient children. Loud noises or quick movements make him nervous, so patience and a semi-quiet home would be best.June 11, 2024, 5:27 pm

Story
Hi! I’m Belle and I am the most blessed dog. I was dropped off to get euthanized due to my vision impairment and the most wonderful people at the shelter decided that I was still worthy of being someone’s pet because I had so much love to give. I am 11 years young, 27 lbs, and I’m searching for a partner who enjoys a good snuggle, has a cozy lap, and loves morning walks. I enjoy laying in the sun, chasing balls, and snoozing away while you work. And I happily receive my eye drops that come with treats. Might you be curious about meeting me?
