NAME:TagSTATS:Male, Min Pin, 10 years, 10 lbs.TEMPERAMENT:Shy at first and when he feels safe, he is your best snuggle buddy..SKILLSPotty trained.Crate trained.Leash trained.Older children only.Good with dogs.Good with cats.Would make a great hiking buddy.MORE ABOUT ME:Likes belly rubs.Couch cuddler.Likes walks.Needs patient owner willing to work on behavior (see details below).ONE LAST THING:Tag is a gorgeous red Miniature Pinscher. He is shy at first with new people. Once he gets to know you he is a snuggly sweet guy. Tag is very sensitive and smart. He is coming out of his shell and amazing transformation. He loves to snuggle. He loves to curl up right on top of you or beside you and just enjoy his time with you. He has been great with dogs that are similar to his size and adapts quickly. He's also got the basics down (kennel trained, potty trained, gets along with other animals) and is ready to find the perfect home. He's pretty vocal when it comes to telling you what he wants. For example, he will bark or whine near the water dish, door (for potty), or food when he wants it. He's so smart and picks up on things pretty quickly.Tag needs time to adjust and decompress in new situations. He is quite skittish and weary of new people. Because he is skittish, he would do best in an all adult home or a home with older, patient children. Loud noises or quick movements make him nervous, so patience and a semi-quiet home would be best.September 23, 2023, 9:14 pm

Story
Miniature Pinscher / Terrier Mix Age: 5-6 yrs old Male, neutered 16 lbs Adoption Fee: $125 (includes spay/neuter, microchip, vaccinations) Murphy was found abandoned on the streets of Newark. He was in pretty bad shape - neglected, possibly abused, skin issues, matted fur, etc. At the shelter he was shutdown, fearful, untrusting. The Tri-City Fremont Shelter reached out to us for help. Murphy is an interesting / complex little guy. He is constantly seeking attention from humans (any human that will pet him). At the same time, he will occasionally give signals that would make someone think that he doesn’t want attention. He walks well on a leash. He is unsure about some types of handling, but our experienced foster home has been able to put a harness on him, pick him up, bath him, etc. But it takes time for him to trust someone before he is comfortable. He does well with other dogs, and he has been in a foster home with cats, birds, chickens, reptiles. Even though his appearance screams “Yorkie” or “Norfolk Terrier,” his DNA results show mostly Miniature Pinscher and Jack Russell Terrier. We have no idea where his long silky fur came from. Murphy needs a forever home that will give him the time and patience to continue learning to trust humans again. He needs an experienced, confident adopter that can read his mood and interact with him accordingly. Please note that we don’t adopt any of our dogs out to homes with children under the age of 13, However, in Murphy’s case - an adult home only. Story
Nicholas (Nikki) is a beautiful all red Dachshund, Miniature Pinscher Mix. He is 15 weeks old and has beautiful green eyes. He loves people and gets along well with other dogs. He is good with children too. Nikki loves to play and he loves to snuggle and is always willing to settle down with his foster mom for a movie or a good book read. He likes toys to play with and bones to chew. Nikki loves to sun bathe and enjoys running around the yard with his foster friends. Nikki has been neutered, microchipped and vaccinated. He will be a great companion dog and a good friend for another dog in his new home. He is in the process of being housetrained. Because of his age, he should not be in a home where he is left alone all day. If you are looking for a sweet boy to take on walks or adventures, Nikki says he is ready for new experiences and your companion. If we need to look something up later and you used a different email we are often not able to find it. 2. Adopt a Pet and Petfinders ask you to send us an enquiry. This always delays our response. (Why) a. Our biographies are always very detailed. Therefore sending an enquiry asking us to repeat what it says in the biography causes a lot more work and delays our response. b. We are a small non-profit and do not always have the help to answer as many enquiries as we get. c. Again our Biographies are very detailed and if you just click the link near the bottom of their bio you can fill out an application which we will respond to. 3. For the AFC website (scroll down to the bio at the bottom it says (apply to adopt today- click that link) www.animalfriendsconnect.org 4. For Petfinders ( scroll down to the biography then click the adoption link) http://animalfriendsconnect.org/adoption-application-dogs/ 5. Story
I took Mocha on by way of a friends request for help due to Covid related job loss. My life has now taken a turn that requires me to put my health first and I am in an unstable situation that has caused Mocha unneeded stresses. I have paper work for diagnosis and labs to show all current needs being treated. Further tests are recommended but am not able to afford. She is very loving and a good eater. She loves to go for rides in the car.

Story
I first saw Angus in a post in January 2023 on Nextdoor about a dog found by a good samaritan who was looking for the human. The post stated the dog was injured, possibly a broken leg. A couple days later the post was updated to say he was brought to ACC. I immediately contacted GDR and told my case worker that I would foster him. Apparently he was injured somehow, maybe hit by a car, because he had a broken leg and a fractured lower canine tooth which both needed to be removed. Fast forward 3 months. . . Angus has been through so much in his short life and has healed beautifully from major traumatic surgery. He is a tiny tripawd, about 2 years old and 9 pounds, and full of lovable, cuddly puppy energy. He has brought out the playful side of our 2 resident dogs-(8yr old 9 lb female Chi mix & 6 yr old 40 lb male Brittany). He is very easy to fall in love with. He’s really smart & listens well and 100% house trained (no pee pads). He is very vocal and lets you know when it’s time to go out. If you talk to him, his response, “rooo roooo” has various meanings. We’ve been working on his socialization because he’s shy around new people and dogs. He warms up quickly to calm dogs at home but is not a dog park dog. He loves long walks, running around the enclosed yard playing chase & has lots of energy & stamina. Angus would be the most happy in a calm adult household with regular daily routines and no children. He dreams of having a human to cuddle with who will talk to him & spend lots of time with him and maybe another small dog his size who will play with him. He can be overwhelmed by dogs who are much bigger. He needs lots of toys to play with, someone who will brush his teeth, feed him a healthy diet and buy him new sweaters. In return, Angus will love you unconditionally for the rest of his life. If this sweet boy sounds like the kind of companion you’d love to have in your life, Please fill out an application to adopt with Grateful Dog Rescue. Grateful Dogs Rescue incurs substanti al veterinary and other expenses in rescuing our dogs. In order to recoup some of these costs, we request a tax-deductible donation for each adoption. The suggested donation for Angus is $300. If you are interested in adopting Angus, please complete our online adoption application at https://www.gratefuldogsrescue.org/adoption-process/ . One of our volunteers will get back to you. Adoptions are local, confined to the SF Bay Area. September 24, 2023, 12:54 pm
