Story
My name is Brie. I was living in back of a vacant house all by myself and was rescued by wonderful neighbors. I was so frightened but they gave me a new toy, a stuffed monkey. What am I?  My DNA says many things. We could say Min Pin-Chi mix or Super Mutt.  I am a female, approximately 1 year old and I weigh about 26 pounds. I am a bit shy meeting new people, but not for long. I love all my doggy friends. PLEASE NOTE: Pet Harbor adopts to residents of the South Bay area of Los Angeles county only. To adopt one of our pets, please call us or send us an email to request an adoption application. A home check is required for all adoptions. All dogs and cats are spayed/neutered prior to adoption, updated on vaccinations and microchipped.

📌 Important Adoption Information All of our dogs are currently living in private shelters or foster homes in South Korea. Once an adoption is approved, dogs will travel to the United States through legal and approved international transport procedures. Video calls are available prior to adoption, and adopters can communicate with our rescue team in real time through our official organization and app-based messaging channels throughout the process. • Rescue Story: Meet Leeju👋 She was found on the street in South Korea at just 2 months old and sent to a high-risk city shelter along with her four siblings. Luckily, she was rescued right before euthanasia by the rescue team and sent to her foster home 2 months later. Her foster family has been taking good care of her since, and she’s been living peacefully with the resident dog. LeeJu is now more than ready for a furever home! • Personality: Friendly, Curious, Cautious LeeJu is such a friendly and lovable pup with a curious and cautious personality. Her energy level is mid-low as she mostly chills in a kennel at home and prefers to have light walkies mainly for the bathroom. • Affinity with - Dogs: Super friendly with other dogs as long as they are not too large or aggressive. She doesn’t respond to barking dogs as well. She currently lives with a resident dog in her foster home, so she will be a good fit for a family with other furry companions. - Cats: Good with cats. - Adults/Kids: Good with both adults & kids. She is calm even when kids pet her. • Housetrained: Fully housebroken, mainly using the bathroom outdoors but sometimes indoors when she can’t go outside. • Walking Manners: Well-mannered! • Bathing/Brushing: Very good. • Car Rides: Not anymore. She got better at car rides. Her foster tries to walk her for potty before jumping into the car. • Separation Anxiety: None. • Barks/Howls: A little bit towards continued noise from outside the house. • Appetite/Food Allergies: She likes any sort of food! / No food allergies. • Likes/Dislikes: She loves being petted on her face while snuggling up to your side! / She feels cold easily due to her short coat. • Shedding level (1~10): 4-6 • Health: Had surgery on both knees in 2021 and recovered fully. Now maintaining her weight is important. Otherwise, she’s healthy! 💙 Adoption Fee Information The adoption fee already includes all major expenses, such as: International transportation, Customs and export documentation, Medical care (spay surgery, vaccinations, health certificate, deworming, etc.) For this reason, we kindly ask that you refrain from requesting a breakdown or negotiation of the adoption fee. Your support directly helps us continue rescuing and caring for dogs in need, and we sincerely appreciate your understanding.

Story
Meet Chiquita Female DOB: May 18, 2024 Weight: 20 lbs Breed: Miniature Pinscher / Catahoula Mix Spayed (Fixed) Vaccinated Microchipped Healthy & Adoption-Ready Personality, Breed Info & Expectations Chiquita is a sweet, affectionate girl with a loving personality and a gentle connection to her people. She enjoys attention, companionship, and being close to her humans, making her the kind of dog who quickly becomes part of the heart of the home. She has matured beautifully beyond the young puppy stage while still keeping a playful spark and curious personality. Chiquita enjoys interaction and companionship but also has a softer, affectionate side that makes her a wonderful cuddle companion. As a Miniature Pinscher / Catahoula mix, Chiquita may show traits such as intelligence, alertness, curiosity, and loyalty. Miniature Pinscher mixes are often confident and engaging, while Catahoula-type dogs are known for their awareness, devotion, and strong bond with their families. Chiquita would thrive in a home that can provide: Companionship and interaction Daily walks and moderate activity Structure and consistency Inclusion as part of the family She would make a wonderful companion for someone looking for a loving dog with both personality and affection. Training, Adjustment & What to Expect Many rescue dogs come from very different backgrounds. Some may have previously lived in homes, while others may have come from the streets, overcrowded shelters, neglect situations, or environments where they had little structure or guidance. Because of this, most rescue dogs arrive with only basic training at best, and some may have had no formal training at all. Even dogs who appear well-behaved in foster care or at the rescue are still adjusting and learning. The rescue environment itself also does not always allow for extensive one-on-one training. While we work hard to provide safety, structure, socialization, and basic guidance, adopters should be prepared to continue training and support after adoption. Chiquita will benefit from: Positive reinforcement training Structure and consistency Patience during adjustment periods Continued socialization and engagement Routine and companionship Please remember the 3-3-3 Rule: 3 days to decompress 3 weeks to learn your routine 3 months to fully feel at home With patience, stability, and commitment, rescue dogs often blossom into deeply loyal lifelong companions. Owner Responsibilities & Veterinary Care Owning a dog is a lifelong commitment that includes daily exercise, companionship, routine veterinary care, training, mental stimulation, and financial responsibility. Chiquita will need: Daily walks and interaction Continued training and guidance Routine wellness exams and preventative veterinary care A safe, stable, indoor living environment Consistent veterinary care, proper nutrition, preventative care, and emotional stability are all essential to helping her live a healthy and happy life. Chiquita is an indoor family dog and is not to be chained or left outside. Story
COOKIE is a lovely adult-to-senior girl, 12 pounds, Miniature Pinscher whose senior human dad passed away, leaving Cookie and her four little companions, Shorty, Millie, Poopsy, and Missy, without their dad. They all get along really well, are house trained, and also know to use pads to do their business indoors, at night, and when it's raining or very cold out. Cookie's late dad probably did not realize that Cookie's left eye was swollen and didn't look right. We don't know exactly what happened to it, but veterinarians are thinking it was untreated uveitis leading to glaucoma that was no longer treatable with medicines. So poor Cookie had to have an enucleation--eye removal. We don't think her other eye was or will ever be involved as we don't know what was the underlying cause. It could have been injury to the eye rather than a systemic problem. Cookie can often be found burrowed in a blanket, and when we arrive starts to dig herself out! None of the pups appear to be serious barkers, only barking to warn that someone is at or near the front door, and then they settle down again. They are great with cats, because they were housemate with six (6) cats! If shown a lot of affection and understanding when welcomed into their new homes, we are sure these lovely kiddos will do well in loving new homes even when they won’t be staying together. IMPORTANT NOTE: Recently the number of deaths from hungry coyote attacks has greatly increased. Coyotes can climb 10 foot fences with a small to medium sized dog in their jaws. This happens in broad daylight in the middle of the day, and on trails while hiking with your dog on a leash, it is truly unbelievable, and we have frightening first-hand accounts. We are listing these lovely pups to help their current foster in finding them wonderful new homes. All four girl pups are spayed, Shorty is neutered, and all of them current on vaccines. To learn more about Cookie (or Shorty, Millie, Poopsy, and Missy), please contact us at: theanimalsleftbehind@socal.rr.com (also our PayPal email for donations and sponsorships).

Story
HENRIETTE-URGENT-Sponsorship: Henriette is awaiting life-saving specialty surgery or radiation treatment (preferred) to remove a tumor on her thyroid gland. It is not malignant but causes an extremely high thyroid count. We were told that if it is not removed Henriette could die. Our regular veterinarians won’t do the surgery and referred us to several specialists for this very delicate surgery or equally difficult radiation which will cost $12,000 to $14,000. Even with an added 15% rescue discount, it is more money than we can ever raise. We have found a way to suppress the high thyroid count and it looks like it’s working, and requires daily medication and supplements. We are seeking help. We have run out of funds. We have spent over $2000 for all her diagnostics—specialty ultrasounds, blood panels, cardiology assessment at MASH, urinalysis and other needed tests, medications, holistic treatments and supplements which we are hoping will help. Henriette is also on expensive "Just Food For Dogs", and human grade food, is fed several times a day, and gets a whole host of supplements and vitamins. The Nature Network Inc. is a 501c3 non-profit, and we will provide a donation receipts for tax deductions. We rescued Henriette from the Orange County Animal Shelter, where she was out of time and living her final days. Henriette loves her doggy playmates and they and we would miss Hen terribly so we are doing everything humanely possible to keep her going, pain free of course. Henriette is spayed and current on her vaccinations. For more information about HENRIETTE, and if you or someone you know can help her, please contact us: theanimalsleftbehind@socal.rr.com (Also our PayPal donation/sponsorship email address)
