Story
Charlie has a big personality and heart. Charlie loves laps, attention, and spending time outside sunbathing. He's affectionate with our kids and others once comfortable. Charlie is territorial and may bark at visitors or strangers on the property. He is a great guard dog. He has nipped at strangers coming to door when feeling protective and needs a confident, patient owner to continue training. He also does best with a consistent potty routine. Charlie’s ideal home is with an experienced owner familiar with small, protective breeds, who can give him structure he needs. With the right home, Charlie will be a loyal, loving companion.

Story
Looks like: Miniature Pinscher Mix Male, 10 years old (estimated), 12 pounds Little Buddy is ready to snuggle his way right into your heart or under your blankets! This spunky little boy loves to play with stuffed toys and enjoys a nice walk - he's a perfect gentleman on leash! He has a moderate amount of energy. He plays hard but also naps hard. Did we mention that Buddy is a champion cuddler? This sweet guy bonds with his person quickly and deeply. He loves being on your lap or in your arms but is also perfectly content curled up in a dog bed with or without other pups. Buddy has some arthritis in his back, so he prefers gentle handling, and would love to be in a home with a single adult. Despite his arthritis, Buddy loves exploring the world on walks and is happiest sniffing to his heart's content! He does great around other dogs but because of his arthritis, Buddy is looking for a home with dog friends who can also be gentle with him and not roughhouse. Buddy returned to us after one of his guardians health began to decline.

Story
Poppy  is a very sweet girl who loves to cuddle and loves a good walk. She’s a little on the quiet side since she recently discovered her bark. When she’s excited, her little nub will definitely let you know.   Energy Level?  medium. She loves a good cuddle session, but she also enjoys her time outdoors. She enjoys a good walk. House trained?  Yes.  Describe how they are on a leash?  She does wonderfully. She does not pull, but she will often stop for sniffs. Describe how they are with other dogs?  She’s great with other dogs. Currently living with a puppy, and she’s very tolerant of the puppy's behavior. Have they been around cats or other animals? How were they?  Poppy has been fostered  with two cats. She’s wonderful as she doesn’t chase them and gives them plenty of space.  Commands they know?  Currently working on “stay” and “touch”.  What are their favorite things?  She loves to explore the backyard and enjoy the sun. She loves a good walk and cuddling on the couch.  She also loves a good treat.  What do they need to work on?   Her cues to go outside to potty are very subtle. So we take her out regularly, whether she needs to go or not. She might beg for food or try to approach your plate if you let her.  How are they when left alone? How long have they been left alone?  She’s fine left alone. She goes in her kennel and sleeps until we return. She has been left alone for a couple of hours before.  Where do they sleep?  In a kennel.  This is a fairly new arrangement, as she was in a pen before. She also sleeps fine on her bed. What is their ideal home?   Poppy  loves her people, so a house where they will shower her with love would be ideal.  She doesn’t require a ton of walking, but she does enjoy her walks. She’s very sweet and loves a good pet session. If you stop before she gets her fill on pets, she will let you know. She does well with other dogs and cats. Has also been around small children and did wonderfully. Poppy is a great companion. The Adoption fee is $325.   For adoption consideration or to meet our dogs , please complete our online adoption application at  www.everypetsdream.org/adopt . Story
All of our dogs are spayed/neutered, shots current (DHPP, Bordetella and Rabies where applicable), dewormed, flea and tick treated, and microchipped.  * If you are interested in a dog, please first read the biography on the dog (keep scrolling down for the bio!) and then go to our website, www.dpsrescue.com for an application. Our adoption fees vary. Each biography will specifically list the adoption fee.Adoption fee: $650 Applesauce is a delightful little 1-2 year old Min Pin who weighs about 14 lbs and has personality to spare! She came to us from the shelter a bit unsure of the world, but in a short time she has truly begun to blossom. As her confidence has grown, so has her joy for life, play, and connection with her people.   Applesauce starts her day bright and early around 6:30 a.m. with a potty break, followed by breakfast and one of her favorite activities: a long morning walk. She happily accompanies her foster family on the walk to the school bus stop and then continues on for a full, active 45-minute stroll. She’s energetic and enthusiastic at the beginning of walks and may pull a bit out of excitement, but she settles in after the first 10–15 minutes and becomes a calm, pleasant walking companion. She mostly ignores other dogs she passes, enjoys greeting some people, and squirrels and birds are very exciting to her.   After her walk, Applesauce is content to relax at home. She’ll chew on a toy, play for a bit, and then happily curl up on someone’s lap for a long nap. She strikes a nice balance between playful energy and mellow downtime throughout the day. In the evening, after dinner around 6:30–7:00 p.m., she revs up again with playful bursts and indoor zoomies, showing off her fun and silly side. Her day winds down with a final potty break around 9:30 p.m., and she sleeps in a crate in the bedroom, usually settling in easily and sleeping through the night with minimal disruption.   Applesauce is a playful dog who loves her toys and enjoys a good chase game. She’s also a devoted cuddle bug and can happily spend an hour snoozing on a lap or curled up in her dog bed after exercise. She has bonded strongly with her foster mom and tends to follow her from room to room, earning her the affectionate title of “Velcro dog.”   She can be sensitive to unfamiliar noises in the home and will bark or growl when surprised, especially if she’s been sleeping. She’s also shown some uncertainty around men, particularly when caught off guard, though she does warm up with calm, patient interactions and is perfectly happy to cuddle once she feels safe. Applesauce would benefit from a home that understands she’s still settling, continues positive reinforcement, and helps her build confidence at her own pace.   Applesauce has interacted appropriately with teens and younger children, though her enthusiasm and tendency to jump straight up when excited may make her a bit much for very young kids. She hasn’t lived with other dogs in her foster home, but she lived in a room with several other dogs while at the shelter.   She’s made great progress with house training and now reliably signals when she needs to go outside— she’s even started using a bell, though that skill is still a work in progress. She does not use potty pads and prefers going outdoors. She’s crate trained for nighttime and understands that the crate means bedtime, though being crated during the day while her people leave is something she’s still learning and improving on.   Applesauce is smart, eager to please, and very treat-motivated. She already knows sit, down, and paw, and is currently working on come, stop, and stay. She learns quickly and clearly enjoys training and engagement. She’s also an enthusiastic chewer and will need durable toys and enrichment to keep her happily occupied.   Overall, Applesauce is a fun, affectionate, active little dog who would thrive with a family that enjoys daily walks, playtime, and interactive companionship. She loves being part of the action, soaking up attention, and sharing life with her people. If you’re looking for a playful, loving companion who will make you laugh, keep you moving, and reward your patience with deep loyalty and affection, Applesauce may be the perfect match.January 28, 2026, 5:06 pm

Our adoption fees vary. Each biography will specifically list the adoption fee. This dog will be at the Palo Alto Pet Food Express on Saturday, January 24th from 12-3pm unless adopted prior to the event. To be considered for adoption, pls submit an application in advance.   Adoption fee: $700 Meet Margarita!   Margarita is a 10–11 week old Min Pin mix puppy who was rescued from the shelter at just 7 weeks of age along with her sister Paloma. Margarita has very much established herself as the bold, curious “life of the party” in the pair. If Paloma is the garnish, Margarita is definitely the main pour.   Margarita starts her day around 7:00 a.m. when she and her sister wake up ready to go. Mornings are all about action: squeaky toys, ribbons, hallway zoomies, and enthusiastic sister-chasing for a couple of hours before she finally pauses for breakfast (a mix of wet food and kibble). After fueling up, Margarita settles down for a few hours of napping in her x-pen with Paloma. Lunch comes around noon, followed by several more hours of play outside the pen, more exploring, and more wrestling. She naps again in the afternoon, eats dinner at 5:00 p.m., then launches into another round of play before winding down with about an hour of cuddling. She’s tucked back into her x-pen and asleep by 8:30 p.m., having poured every last ounce of puppy energy into her day.   Personality-wise, Margarita is curious, courageous, and incredibly smart. From the moment she arrived, she showed herself to be a confident explorer, and that confidence has only grown. She is highly food motivated and will happily solve puzzles, search out hidden snacks, and work through enrichment toys faster than you’d expect from such a young puppy. Margarita is often the first one out of the pen to investigate a new sound or situation, making direct eye contact with her foster human, the resident dog, or even the cat as if to say, “What’s happening, and how can I be involved?” She has a ton of energy and loves chasing her sister— and occasionally her foster human— around the house.   Margarita lives with a 20 lb resident dog and is very curious about her. She’s still learning manners and currently expresses her enthusiasm by chasing and occasionally barking at the dog, 'play with me! play with me!' She’s also curious about the resident cat and will chase the cat in playful investigation mode. Everything Margarita does is driven by curiosity and excitement, and she’s learning quickly with guidance and consistency.   She is an extremely playful puppy with classic Min Pin confidence and spunk. Margarita loves small squeaky toys and ribbons, enjoys wrestling with her sister, and thrives on interactive play. She’s slightly bigger than Paloma, weighing in at about 6 pounds, and uses that extra size to her advantage during playtime. She’s absorbing new skills quickly and shows great potential for training thanks to her intelligence and food motivation. And once playtime is over, Marg is ready to turn into a precious little cuddle bug, soaking up all the love she can.   Margarita is too young for walks and hasn’t started leash training yet. She is currently x-pen trained and is working on potty pad training. Like most puppies, she is teething and can be a bit mouthy first thing in the morning, but she redirects easily to appropriate toys.   The ideal home for Margarita is one with someone who has the time, patience, and sense of humor to guide her through puppyhood. She is eager to learn, loves engagement, and will thrive with consistent training, enrichment, and plenty of outlets for her energy and curiosity.   What really sets Margarita apart is her fearless curiosity and growing confidence. Add in her expressive face, sharp mind, and love of food puzzles, and you have a puppy who is both entertaining and incredibly endearing.   Margarita is a sweet pea with a big personality— shaken, not stirred— and she’s ready to bring a little extra zest, joy, and puppy energy into her future home.January 25, 2026, 5:16 pm

While the two share the same start in life, Paloma has developed a personality all her own— soft, thoughtful, and quietly affectionate. If Margarita is the bold splash of lime, Paloma is the smooth, calming sip you savor.   Paloma starts her mornings around 7:00 a.m., waking up with her sister and easing into the day with playtime. She enjoys squeaky toys, ribbons, and running the hallway, often chasing her sister for a couple of hours before settling in for breakfast, which consists of wet food and kibble. After breakfast, Paloma happily naps for a few hours in her x-pen with Margarita. Lunch comes around noon, followed by more playtime outside the pen, then another long afternoon nap. Dinner is at 5:00 p.m., followed by a few more hours of play, then her favorite part of the day: an hour of cuddling. She’s back in her x-pen and asleep by 8:30 p.m., content and worn out from a well-balanced puppy day.   From the beginning, Paloma has been a calm and observant little puppy. In those first days, she carefully watched her sister dive into new situations before deciding whether to follow— and that thoughtful approach remains part of her charm. She is calm, gentle, and very snuggly, enjoying a perfect balance of play and cuddle time. Paloma is quiet and rarely barks, still discovering her voice. She’s food motivated but dainty about it, preferring smaller meals and taking her time.   Paloma lives with a resident 20 lb dog and is curious about her, occasionally chasing her as she learns appropriate puppy manners. She also shows curiosity toward the resident cat and will chase out of interest rather than intensity. At just 5 pounds, Paloma is a petite pup with a cautious but playful spirit, happy to engage but never reckless.   She is both playful and thoughtful— happy to join in games but equally content to hang back, observe, and then jump in when she feels comfortable. She hasn’t gone on walks yet due to her age.   Paloma is x-pen trained, and those skills would likely transfer well to a crate in her future home. Like all puppies her age, she is teething, but she redirects easily when given an appropriate toy. She rarely barks and is still gaining confidence in using her voice.   Paloma would thrive in a home with someone who has the time and patience to guide her through puppyhood and help her continue building confidence. She’s a gentle soul who will flourish with consistent routines, reassurance, and plenty of affection.   What truly sets Paloma apart is her petite size, her shy and cuddly nature, and her incredible sweetness. Recently, her left ear decided to stand up all on its own— and it has no intention of going back down. It gives her an extra dose of expressiveness and charm that perfectly matches her personality.   One of her foster family’s favorite things about Paloma is that while she may hesitate behind her sister when it’s time to run out of the pen, she is always the first to leap straight into your lap once she’s free. Paloma is a tender, loving puppy with a gentle heart—and she’s ready to find a home where she can curl up, feel safe, and be adored.January 25, 2026, 5:16 pm
