His foster says it took a couple days, but he warms up beautifully with patience (and snacks!). Once Squirtle trusts you, he's a super cuddly shadow. Affectionate and easy to take care of, he loves nothing more than curling up with his person. He’s done well with other small dogs and would enjoy calm, respectful canine friends. Squirtle is looking for an adult-only home with someone experienced with nervous or fearful small dogs, someone who understands that building trust takes time but pays off in loyalty and love. I am at Oakland Animal Services in kennel Dog E:2Charmander is an energetic young pup who is quite handsome and really does pour on the charm! This leggy tricolor charmer loves to run and play with other small dogs, and comes in for attention and pets with his human friends regularly during play sessions. He walks well on leash and is treat-motivated, which should help with training and bonding with his new people. He is looking for a forever family with an energetic lifestyle during the day with regular walks/hikes and dog play dates that loves evening snuggles when the day is done. Looking for an adventure companion in a compact package? Come in and be charmed by Charmander! Charmander attended an off-site event and was definitely a charmer! He jumped into the volunteer’s car himself and rode easily with a dog seat belt, looking out the windows and leaning in for pets occasionally. On the 10 minute walk to the event, he was all business and walked briskly without pulling while staying on task, no sniffing or dawdling. He checked in regularly with a look back while walking and would walk back to handler when called. At the event, he was reserved with new people in a new setting but was convinced by patience and cheese to accept gentle pets and sit close to his new friends. Boba is loving, energetic and full of life. He came to our house because he was surrendered at my work place when he was only a month old after he had ingested fentanyl. His owners never came back for him and I could not allow this beautiful puppy to be alone or go to the shelter at such a young age. My husband and I were hoping he would build a bond with our 6 year old pug Tofu and our 5 year old cat Miso but with his strong energy that just doesn't seem possible. I work at a veterinary clinic and I work long 12 hour shifts and he comes with me to work and unfortunately has to stay in a kennel during my shifts since he doesn’t get along with our pug or cat at home. My husband and I really wanted to make him part of our family but after 5 months of trying, we strongly believe Boba deserves a single pet home and owners who may have more free time than what my husband and I can offer. We truly love our boy Boba but we unfortunately can’t keep him and do not have the time to train him atm

Looks like: Miniature Pinscher Mix Male, 10 years old (estimated), 12 pounds Little Buddy is ready to snuggle his way right into your heart or under your blankets! This spunky little boy loves to play with stuffed toys and enjoys a nice walk - he's a perfect gentleman on leash! He has a moderate amount of energy. He plays hard but also naps hard. Did we mention that Buddy is a champion cuddler? This sweet guy bonds with his person quickly and deeply. He loves being on your lap or in your arms but is also perfectly content curled up in a dog bed with or without other pups. Buddy has some arthritis in his back, so he prefers gentle handling, and would love to be in a home with a single adult. Despite his arthritis, Buddy loves exploring the world on walks and is happiest sniffing to his heart's content! He does great around other dogs but because of his arthritis, Buddy is looking for a home with dog friends who can also be gentle with him and not roughhouse. Buddy returned to us after one of his guardians health began to decline.
