Story
Meet Frieda Kahlo — your tiny shadow with a big heart Frieda Kahlo (she just goes by Frieda) is a 3.5-month-old Pinscher mix with a sleek, shiny jet-black coat, long legs, and a personality that is pure sunshine. At just 10 pounds now, she’s expected to grow into a perfectly medium-sized girl around 25–30 pounds when fully grown. She’s the kind of puppy who turns heads not just because she’s adorable, but because she radiates sweetness everywhere she goes. Frieda had a tough start to life. She was part of a litter of nine puppies who were heartbreakingly dumped at a county shelter at just two weeks old, without their mama. She was bottle-fed for the first two months of her life and has been lovingly raised in foster care ever since. Thanks to that early hands-on care, Frieda is incredibly people-oriented, trusting, and deeply bonded to her humans. She shows no signs of trauma—just gratitude, joy, and an endless desire to be close to the people she loves. She is working on crate training and does protest for a bit when she goes in because she would rather be with her person. This girl is very playful and absolutely adores toys, especially stuffed animals and chew bones. She also loves romping around with her foster “nanny,” a 79-pound German Shepherd Dog, and does wonderfully with other dogs. Cats are currently unknown. While she enjoys canine companionship, Frieda truly adores people and will happily choose your lap over anything else. If you’re sitting, expect Frieda to be there—she is the ultimate lap dog. Frieda is affectionate to her core. She loves cuddling, curls up under the covers at night, and will sleep right next to you. She’ll happily curl up at your feet while you work at the computer or snooze in your lap during movie time. She’s very quiet for a puppy and rarely barks, making her an easy companion in many living situations. She’s also a rockstar in many puppy basics: · Great car rider – she’ll sit nicely in the passenger seat · Potty smart – goes immediately when taken outside · Almost house trained – occasional small accidents, easy cleanups · Food motivated – eats well and is eager to learn, making training a breeze Like all puppies, Frieda is in the puppy biting stage, but she is very gentle and only mouths during play. She’s friendly, soft-natured, and kind with everyone she meets. From a medical standpoint, Frieda is current on her vaccines (with more routine puppy vaccines still to come), heartworm negative, and up to date on heartworm and flea/tick prevention. She will need to be spayed when age-appropriate. Frieda is already microchipped to help keep her safe. Frieda’s ideal home is one where her person (or people!) are comfortable having a devoted little shadow. She thrives on human connection and will do best with someone who is home often and happy to have a puppy who wants to be close pretty much all the time. She would be perfectly content as an only pet or with other friendly dogs—as long as she gets her people time.
