Story
Topper was rescued from a South Atlanta animal shelter.  She was quite shy the first few days, so we gave her some space and she began to seek us out after about 4 days.  After a few weeks, she follows us and seeks affection.  She is very sweet and silly.  Topper is 6 yrs old weighs 16 lbs. and looks like a mini German Shepherd.  She will come inside when called for her food and bed time, but she really enjoys playing in the yard with her canine friends.  She loves her dry kibble and is not a picky eater.  She needs to learn to take treats gently though, watch those fingers!  When her foster mom is loving on other dogs, she'll yip and tug your pants leg!  She wants ALL your love, and we are working to correct that behavior.  We only crate Topper when she's eating.  However, we do baby gate her when nobody is home. When you pick her up, she'll lay her head on your shoulder and melt your heart instantly. Alcovy dogs are spayed/neutered, up to date on all vaccines, up to date on heart-worm preventative and flea preventative and micro-chipped. If interested in adoption, please complete an online application on Alcovy Pet Rescue's website at www.alcovypet.com. You must have a vet reference to adopt. We verify the care of past/current pets. Story
Evie 9 years old (DOB 5/11/2015); 13.2 lbs. Spayed, UTD on vaccines, HW negative and on prevention MPMR requires all dogs in the home to be on heartworm prevention, spayed or neutered, and current on vaccines unless there is a verifiable reason by a vet. Meet Evie. This girl adores women and takes a bit of time (treats help) to warm up to men. She is learning about toys now that her teeth have been cleaned and will sometimes briefly play tug with her person. Evie will gladly do anything for snacks. She is quite friendly once she trusts and eager to snuggle with someone on top of or under blankets. She also has more energy than you'd expect from a dog her age and will make a good walking buddy, though she does need some work on leash training and would probably do best with a fenced yard. In her foster home, Evie quickly learned where the door was that leads outside, and she has done extremely well letting us know when she needs to go out to do her business. At some point in her past, she had a home as she knows a few commands including "sit," "get down," and "dance." We are still working on "come." She will do best as someone's one and only as she thrives on people attention and does not care much for other dogs. She tolerates them in her foster home, but the difference in her behavior when she is the only one near her people is drastic. She is much friendlier when she doesn't have to concern herself with sharing someone's lap. As she is quite a barker. No apartments or condos. Evie has some pain in her neck from something that happened in her past. She takes Galliprant daily (a 90 count bottle lasts her 6 months). Without it, she would not allow anyone to pick her up due to neck pain, but on the medication, she does allow it albeit with some hesitance until she knows you. Story
MPMR requires all applicants to have their dogs current on vaccines, spayed or neutered, and on heartworm prevention unless there is verifiable medical reason why this cannot be done. Chiquita 3.5 year old chocolate Min Pin (DOB 9/30/2020) 10 lbs. Fully vetted Chiquita (given name) is an incredibly sweet girl. She can be standoffish for a while, so a few meetings at her foster home are recommended. She is highly food motivated, so the way to her heart is through her stomach. At this time, an adoptive home will need to be low traffic and either need to consist of ladies only or ladies with respectful older kids. She jumpes and nips too much in play to be around toddlers. She is absolutely terrified of men due to little socialization because of when she was born, and so far, we are having little progress in getting her over this fear. She has quite a bit of energy so would benefit from a fenced yard where she can run. Chiquita adores cuddling. She is very much a velcro dog and her person's shadow. She will follow someone around the house bouncing along behind for attention. She knows both English and Spanish commands per her former owner. Chiquita gets along with other dogs quite well and is often cuddling with them in her foster home. We were told Chiquita knows how to use puppy pads, but here she strictly goes outside to do her business and has done amazingly well on that front. She does hesitate when it is dark due to a minor vision issue but is easily coaxed with lights turned on so she can see better. She is also crate trained. If interested in adopting Chiquita, please complete our adoption application. The web address may need to be copied and pasted. http://tinyurl.com/mpmrapp

Story
Dallas is a sweet puppy with a lot of energy. He grunts when he wants attention. He barks out of fear but isn't aggressive at all. He will lick you to death if you let him. Dallas is good with small dogs like him, but not good with big dogs. Dallas needs space to run and burn his energy. He can play alone for hours with his favorite toys. He is very smart and trainable. Dallas also puts himself to bed when it's time. He is crate trained. Dallas can learn to play with kids, but it will take time since coming from a home without children. I am rehoming him to someone that not only has time for him, but has the space for him to run and possibly kids to can grow with and play with.

Story
Hi! My name is Calisto. Since I have that name, you should know I think I am a pirate. Aye, aye matey. I have the handsome dark looks, swashbuckling style, and alway look like I am winking. I just have to talk my Frommy into getting me the outfit.     Until I get the outfit, you can call me Cal. I am a 3 year old miniature pinscher mix. I am tall and trim with well defined muscles(14 pounds). I have a handsome black and tan coat. I only have one eye from an accident a long time ago, but I don't talk about it as It is not an issue for me.  I am doing super in my foster home and get along well with the 3 other dogs here. I love the humans best. I love for them to hold me and give me lots of pets. If they are doing something with their hands, I just get the pets from their feet. By the way, I do prefer ladies, but I should be fine with a patient man. I am also quiet in my crate at night and when Frommy goes out.     You should know that I absolutely Love to eat. I have nosed out all the food locations in the house, but they keep it all where I can't help myself. I like going outside and being on furniture and even a soft dog bed. I am just a very agreeable guy.   Before I got here, someone didn't give me heart worm preventatives,  so I had the worms. Fortunately, I have finished my treatment and I am ready to find my new family asap!   I would love to be the new pirate in your home! Can't wait to meet you!   Calisto       An Adoption Application for this dog can be found and submitted online. http://www.angelsrescue.org/adopt/adoption-forms    Please be sure to like our Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/angelsrescue.  Email inquiry@angelsrescue.org    Note:   Some apartments and neighborhoods  have breed restrictions. Story
Who can resist this gorgeous, young, 12 pound, Miniature Pinscher mix with his beautiful red coat. It doesn’t stop with looks, he loves other dogs of all sizes (but cats are an unknown), he is very active and loves to play. Timmy is very quick to protect you from the evil vacuum and any moving objects outside your window. He does like to have long (and sometimes loud) conversations with you.    He would prefer a fenced yard or a very active parent and an active fur sibling. His energy level could prove to be too much for children under 10. He does love some snuggle time. He has built in springs in his little body giving him the ability to jump from the floor onto pretty high objects. He does know some basic commands like sit for his treats. Timmy is 99% house trained, plus he is crate trained (and has never had an accident inside his crate). While he is not fond of the crate, he does settle in quickly.  Can you imagine yourself taking long walks with the fantastic dog, then get your application in quickly!   An Adoption Application for this dog can be found and submitted online. http://www.angelsrescue.org/adopt/adoption-forms  Please be sure to like our Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/angelsrescue.  Email inquiry@angelsrescue.org  Note: Some apartments and neighborhoods have breed restrictions.
