Say hi to LeeJu! A sweet, happy girl! Leeju was found on the street in South Korea at just 2 months old and sent to a high-risk city shelter along with her four siblings. Luckily, she was rescued right before euthanasia by the rescue team and sent to her foster home 2 months later. Her foster family has been taking good care of her since, and she’s been living peacefully with the resident dog. Leeju is now more than ready for a furever home! > Personality: Friendly, Curious, Happy Leeju is a curious and happy pup! Her energy level is mid-low as she mostly chills in a kennel at home and prefers to have light walkies mainly for the bathroom. > Relationships - with dogs: Super friendly with other dogs as long as they are not too large or aggressive. She doesn’t respond to barking dogs either. She currently lives with the resident dog in her foster home, so she will be a good fit for a family with other furry companions. - with cats: Good with cats. No aggression. - with adults/kids: Good with both adults & kids. She is calm even when kids pet her. She can be a great addition to any type of family! > Walking manners: Well-mannered. She pays attention to what her person commands. > Shedding (on a scale of 1 to 10): 6 > Food allergies/Picky eater: No. She likes any sort of food! > Potty (indoor/outdoor): Fully housebroken, mainly using the bathroom outdoors but sometimes indoors when she can’t go outside. > Bathing/Brushing: Very good > Separation anxiety: None > Barking: Almost none. Thus, she had surgery on her both hind legs at 2.5 years old in Oct 2021. Now, she is super healthy and active without showing signs of pain as you can see in her video, though she still needs attention to maintaining her weight so that her joint doesn’t get pressure. Meet Kissmet Nova! This sweet boy is five months old and about 12 pounds. He is a very happy and playful boy, although he does take a minute to warm up to new people. Kissmet is crate-trained and will use a Potty pad. Although he usually uses the doggie door at his foster home. Kissmet will need the practice to make walks on a leash fun and exciting. He has been raised around other dogs and has done fine with the fosters grandchildren, but since he takes a minute to warm up small children in the home may not be best for him. We aren’t sure about his breed mix but his mama is 13 pounds and looks like a Chihuahua and miniature pincher or Italian greyhound mix. Kissmet may also have something like a rat terrier in him as well. He should remain small, but will probably be a little bigger than his mama and around 20 pounds or so. Ready to adopt a sweet boy? Meet Nova Pauls! This sweet girl came to us with her two babies from a shelter and she was absolutely terrified. She has come such a long way and is now a loving lapdog! Nova is about 4 to 6 years old and 13 pounds. We think she is a miniature pincher and Chihuahua mix. She is a beautiful Gray blue color. She is sweet as can be, but a little scared at first. But she is crate trained and has done well on her house training and using Potty Pads. Nova will need to practice learning to walk on a leash better. Nova had blood work, as well as a dental cleaning at her vet visit. She did lose several teeth, due to the poor condition in which she was raised. However, she is healthy and doing very well. Meet Zoom Zoom! One of the 180 animal rescued from the recent rescue turned hoarding situation in Brick, she was one of the most terrified and defensive of the dogs rescued and took a long time to warm up. She got the nickname by the shelter volunteers who cared for her lovingly for the past month since her rescue, because while she was too scared to walk on a leash, once she got comfortable she loved doing zoomies around the play yards enjoying her newfound freedom! She loves to play with toys and is a high energy little terrier personality, very lovable once she picks her people and bonds. Please submit an application to meet her. Baby is a precious little girl that is 2 years old, weighs 20 lbs and is a special needs dog.  She was born with what is the equivalent to a hydrocephalus child that cannot control some of her movement functions and needs assistance moving around.  This girl is also 90% blind and has to be helped to get outside and go for a potty break.  We are working on a wheelchair right now and it will give her some freedom and joy to sit upright and perhaps learn how to move her legs to navigate around the backyard.  This girl is very independent but yet being picked up does put her in a fear mode until she knows to trust you and knows you mean her no harm.  She is about 90% blind and challenged with her walking skills and we think a wheelchair could give her some wonderful mobility or steadiness on her feet.  She is a sweet girl that will play with other dogs and is fine around cats as well.  If you have ever wanted to help a handicapped dog then Baby is the one to consider.  We think she is Min Pin mix and was brought to a shelter with her sister at the age of 10 weeks in December of 2021.  This little girl is going on 2 years old now and the original foster mom is keeping the other sister who is impaired with her walking only.  We are seeking a person and family with a depth to handle the blindness and the need to carry her outside right now to go potty.  She loves the company of other dogs and she is much improved when around them.  She does also love to sleep and stay near her work-from-home foster mom.
