Story
Age 10 years Weight 15 lbs Adoption donation $599      Daisy arrived just a few weeks ago at the rescue and instantly  captured her foster mom’s heart, out of the 150+ dogs at the rescue the Wags director calls Daisy her current favorite! Daisy is sweet and gentle and loving, you’d never know she was a senior, she loves to romp and play with the other dogs.   Daisy has a rather interesting background, she was owned by a female truck driver in Mississippi who took Daisy with her on trips all over the country. But sadly, the woman fell on hard times and gave up Dasy and several other dogs.  But Daisy hit the jackpot coming to Wags, she was vetted and giving her vaccinations and spayed, and has settled in quickly, following her foster mom around the rescue, stopping to play with the other dogs. Her best buddy is in that beautiful black lab named Blue who is also for adoption (We would love for them to go together! Not necessary, but if you were open to a second dog, check out Blue!)      Daisy really is the quintessential family dog, she doesn’t have a drop of aggression. She would be ideal for someone who’s retired who wants a lap dog. But she would be fine in an active family as well, she really fits in anywhere. Sweet Daisy will make a wonderful addition to the lucky family who adopts her.    Wags is a struggling 501(c) 3 where one woman in rural Mississippi takes care of about 200 homeless and stray dogs. Adoption donations are the only source of funding for the rescue. Adoption fee includes the transport from Mississippi, vaccines, microchip and spay and neuter. Most of our dogs are in Mississippi and come up by Transport, dogs are listed along the Transport route or in an area where we may have volunteers who can help transport the dogs. We do have some of our dogs in foster homes in the northeast, we always need foster homes! Story
Felix is an approximately 3 &1/2 year-old male min-pin who comes to PAWS from a CT animal control where he was picked up as stray. Felix is a friendly little guy who enjoys meeting new people and is good around other dogs. Felix can be a bit of a resource guarder and requires an adopter who will be a confident leader with him and continue with his crate training. As long as Felix's food and toys are confined to his crate and he is not allowed up on the couch, he does amazingly well. Felix was adopted earlier this year and did wonderfully with his new mom. He was just settling in and fully letting his guard down when she suddenly uprooted him and moved into a new shared residence. This raised his anxiety levels and resulted in a bite when a man he had never met invaded his space. His owner then panicked and abandoned him at a local animal control. Despite this sad turn of events, Felix was happy to greet all of his old friends at PAWS. He loves going on walks with all of our volunteers and playing in the yard. His training at his prior home has actually helped him immensely as we have not seen much resource guarding since we took him back. Although he plays well with other dogs, due to his resource guarding, a household without another dog or cat would probably be best for him. We believe that he would also do best in a single person household so that he does not develop any guarding behavior of one person over the other. Felix is microchipped, neutered and up to date on his vaccinations.

Story
Gideon is a 6 year old neutered male who was found as a local stray. Friendly, energetic, and sweet, Gideon is a fun dog who enjoys going on walks and romping around in the yard. He loves a good blanket and sometimes scares the staff by snuggling so deep into a comforter that we don't realize he's there! Gideon has a food allergy and will need to be on a strictly fish-based diet, but he's not picky with his food and has been more than happy with the adjustment. He could live with a dog-savvy cat and is selective about other dogs, so he may do best with a canine companion content to leave him alone. For more information on Gideon, call AWS at 860-354-1350 email animalwelfare.socty@snet.net or visit our website aws-shelter.org for an application. Adoption Fees for Adult Dogs are $400

Story
adoption donation : $599 weight 44 lbs Age 5 months as of 3/18           Sweet Freya and her three sisters, Schatzi, Gretel and Eva, were left in the driveway at the Wags rescue in Mississippi, an all too common occurrence.      We are not sure of their mix, at first we thought they were German Shepherd mixes, thus the German names! But some seem to have black mouth cur in them, Shatzi  is all tan with a black muzzle, and sweet Eva looks like she has some heeler in her.     We do know that the puppies are a delight— they have been having a grand time playing together at the rescue and then snuggling in a big puppy pile to nap. All the girls have all been spayed and given their vaccines and are ready for loving homes. They are around 35 pounds, they were born in mid October. They are friendly and loving and will make great family dogs.    Wags is a struggling 501(c) 3 where one woman in rural Mississippi takes care of about 150 homeless and stray dogs.  Adoption donations are the only source of funding for the rescue.
