Story
-Trey is a handsome Min Pin boy that is estimated to be one year old and weighing at slim and sleek 17 pounds.  This boy was found as a stray with a desperate need to be cared for with love and dedication.   Critter Cavalry Rescue was luckily contacted by the shelter director and implored to please find him a forever home and turn his sweet life around. Trey deserves to have a wonderful family or single person who wants this nice but nervous boy to be their cuddle bug for many years to come.   You can see in his face that he has never been treated so nicely.   His foster mom says he is submissive with the other dogs and would fit in with any family that has other cats and dogs.  He is crate trained and unbelievably housebroken.  Maybe he was someone's boy at one time and somehow lost his way.  He was not microchipped nor neutered and he seems a bit ragged around the edges when he was found.  One of those road warriors who somehow survived the odds of the past winter filled with snow and ice storms.  Trey loves the feel of the cool green grass as he rolls on his back with a smile.  He never growls even when some of the other jealous dogs have growled at him when he arrived.  He just takes it in stride.  He is quiet and needs some reassurance from his human foster mom.  Of course he feels vulnerable but we hope that soon there will be a wonderful door that will open for his future and someone will invite him home to live the dream life of a well-loved dog.  If you are interested please email Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrtennessee@gmail.com  We adopt locally where we are based in Nashville,Tn and also transport to the northeastern states every weekend.  He is the perfect dog for so many different families   PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comMay 13, 2026, 10:46 am

Story
• Rescue Story: Meet Leeju👋 She was found on the street in South Korea at just 2 months old and sent to a high-risk city shelter along with her four siblings. Luckily, she was rescued right before euthanasia by the rescue team and sent to her foster home 2 months later. Her foster family has been taking good care of her since, and she’s been living peacefully with the resident dog. LeeJu is now more than ready for a furever home! • Personality: Friendly, Curious, Cautious LeeJu is such a friendly and lovable pup with a curious and cautious personality. Her energy level is mid-low as she mostly chills in a kennel at home and prefers to have light walkies mainly for the bathroom. • Affinity with - Dogs: Super friendly with other dogs as long as they are not too large or aggressive. She doesn’t respond to barking dogs as well. She currently lives with a resident dog in her foster home, so she will be a good fit for a family with other furry companions. - Cats: Good with cats. - Adults/Kids: Good with both adults & kids. She is calm even when kids pet her. • Walking Manners: Well-mannered! • Housetrained: Fully housebroken, mainly using the bathroom outdoors but sometimes indoors when she can’t go outside. • Bathing/Brushing: Very good. • Car Rides: Not anymore. She got better at car rides. Her foster tries to walk her for potty before jumping into the car. • Separation Anxiety: None. • Barks/Howls: A little bit towards continued noise from outside the house. • Appetite/Food Allergies: She likes any sort of food! / No food allergies. • Likes/Dislikes: She loves being petted on her face while snuggling up to your side! / She feels cold easily due to her short coat. • Shedding level (1~10): 5-6 • Health: Had surgery on both knees in 2021 and recovered fully. Now maintaining her weight is important. Otherwise, she’s healthy! 💙 Adoption Fee Information The adoption fee already includes all major expenses, such as: International transportation, Customs and export documentation, Medical care (spay surgery, vaccinations, health certificate, deworming, etc.) For this reason, we kindly ask that you refrain from requesting a breakdown or negotiation of the adoption fee. Your support directly helps us continue rescuing and caring for dogs in need, and we sincerely appreciate your understanding.

Story
The news stories 📰 📺 have died down, but many of the canine victims of recent Sussex County dumping/hoarding case continue to struggle as a result of their past neglect… We welcomed Champ into our rescue today, one of the last dogs to be trapped. Our friends at Happy Tails Inn Pet Resort got him off to a great start learning to play with toys and beginning to trust people; they even sent him to us with his favorite pink squeaky toy and special “good dog” bowl he likes to eat out of. But he has a long way to go and has no clue how to be a normal pet. Like most hoarding cases, the older dogs from the home were more social, while the younger dogs born after the hoarder was already overwhelmed by 40+ dogs were barely touched or socialized so are the most scared. You can see in Champ’s eyes that he’s curious and wants to trust, and once you are holding and petting him he is starting to lean in and enjoy it. But he still startles easily, has never been on a leash, and doesn’t know to come and ask for attention. He loves other dogs and definitely needs a friendlier pack surrounding him to continue to gain confidence. And LOTS of squeaky toys. He’s about 2-3 years old, 12lbs, and probably some kind of chihuahua/min pin/Jack Russell type mixture. Medically he’s good to go and has been neutered and updated on shots. Mentally, he’s not there just yet and will need a special patient calm adult home to continue to help him learn to bond and trust people. He is a MAJOR flight risk if he ever gets loose because of his fear so extra caution will always need to be taken to keep him safe, and he definitely needs a home with at least one other dog (the more the merrier… well, not the out of control 50+ in his previous home, but a little pack would be nice for him). Stay tuned as we get to know him better and watch him learn to enjoy life and get to know him as an individual. And email njwoof@cs.com if you think you have the right home for this shy but sweet little survivor 💜 Since COVID-19, we are no longer holding our Sunday adoption events until further notice, but we are scheduling meet and greet appointments with a specific dog or dogs at our meeting spots in Northern NJ. To streamline adoptions, all communication before, during, and after the adoption process is done through email only: we have limited volunteers able to return phone calls. Submit an application from our website www.secondchance.petfinder.com to speed up the adoption process and email any questions to us at njwoof@cs.com. Please check your email regularly for next steps. All our dogs reside in foster care in Northern NJ until adoption and we do not have a central shelter location. We are a small all-volunteer organization focused on rescuing local dogs from area shelters, as well as accepting some surrenders and puppy mill rescues.

Story
Tula is a 3-year-old Miniature Pinscher with a gentle soul and a heart full of love. This sweet little girl may be a bit reserved when meeting new people, but she just needs a little time and patience to feel safe. Once she warms up, her true personality shines, soft, affectionate, and deeply devoted to her people. Tula is bonded with her brother Bane, and the two make a wonderful pair. They truly balance each other out - Bane brings the outgoing, playful energy, while Tula has a more humble and gentle personality. Together, they make the perfect duo and are looking for a home where they can stay side by side. Tula is the kind of companion who enjoys the quieter side of life. She would love nothing more than a cozy home where she can curl up beside you on the couch, relax, and keep you company during movie nights. Her calm presence makes her a wonderful match for someone looking for a low-key, loving companion. While she may be shy at first, Tula forms strong bonds and finds comfort in routines and familiar faces. She’s looking for a home that will give her the time she needs to come out of her shell and feel secure. Tula is open to meeting children over the age of 12 who understand that she may need a little patience and gentle handling as she adjusts. With the right family, these two will provide a lifetime of love and excitement!-------------------------------------If you are interested in adopting, please visit Women`s Animal Center to fill out an application in person.
