Story
Burnt Toast looks like a Pinscher and Miniature Chihuahua mix with a black coat and warm apricot highlights that match his expressive face. He’s a small dog, and the shelter environment has simply been too much for him, not because he lacks confidence, but because he’s meant to shine in a calmer, more personal space. Friendly and healthy, Burnt Toast is a bit on the thin side and ready for the kind of love that comes with regular meals, soft beds, and someone who notices the little things. His name fits him in the best way. Sometimes burnt toast isn’t a mistake, it’s a redirection. A pause that leads you somewhere better than where you were headed. Burnt Toast may be one of those meaningful detours. A small dog who just needed the right turn to find safety, comfort, and a future that finally feels right. For the person who brings him home, he could be the reminder that the best things often come from unexpected moments.

Story
(Bonded to Kiddo) Roscoe and his best friend Kiddo are a spunky bonded pair who found their way to us after their owner could no longer care for them. These “young seniors” have clearly known love and stability and are ready to continue that journey with their next forever family. Every morning this dynamic duo emerges from their cozy cocoons, ready to greet the day. Roscoe, the ball-obsessed athlete of the pair, comes fully equipped with his own ball launcher—and all he needs now is a dedicated human to keep up with his enthusiasm! Here are two videos of Roscoe playing fetch: https://www.youtube.com/shorts/xk3ylau0D8A https://www.youtube.com/shorts/KnvG5KxY-fg Kiddo can walk on her own and also has her very own custom wheelchair should her back legs fail to support her. Her mobility challenges don’t slow her down — she’s strong, confident, and full of life. Both Roscoe and Kiddo have a soft spot for treats and stuffed Kongs and will happily trade kisses for snacks. Their bond with each other is something truly special—they gently cuddle and play together, but they can also roughhouse like pups half their age. If you’re looking to welcome not one, but two incredible dogs into your heart and home, Roscoe and Kiddo are ready to meet you. To set up a no-obligation "meet and greet," fill out an application at wimberleywagrescue.org.

Story
Harley's story started tragically, but now he's ready for his happily ever after. Harley was adopted from a local shelter, but his adopters left the garage open and he slipped out on his very first day there. Instead of searching for him, they didn't notify anyone and left him to survive on the streets. But after months scared and alone on his own, our rescue was able to bring him into a loving foster home! Now, sweet Harley is ALL about enjoying the creature comforts of indoor life. He goes outside to potty but prefers observing the world from his favorite couch perch. He loves to cuddle and snuggle, and his foster mom calls him an absolute sweetheart! He has SO much love and joy to give, and he needs a patient, kind adopter who will show him love and support while he learns to trust his new family. It's going to take him a minute, but he'll be an amazing family member! Harley's ideal home will have a fenced-in yard and lots of windows for observing the big wide world. He will do best in a home, rather than an apartment, because he's very vocal when he's excited (mom's home! squirrel! treats!). Harley coexists well with his foster family's resident dog. He is submissive and mostly disinterested, and would do well with another independent dog friend or being your one and only furry companion. If you are a kind, loving, and patient soul who can give Harley the time he needs to realize you're the BFF he's been looking for, he would love to meet you ... and make sure your couch meets his impeccable cuddling standards.
