Story

Scrappy Doo had a rough start in life, and he has had some complications from heart worm infection.  He is only about two years old but may need to be on medication for his heart for the rest of his life.  Because of this, his adoption fee is waived, we just ask for a donation to contribute toward the care we've provided so far.  Though he had some bumps in the road, Scrappy is really doing great and is ready for his forever home!   Scrappy loves his person - his person is his world - and he would love a home where he can be his person's world.   Scrappy is good with kids (9+ recommended if any) and is fine with other dogs, although he rarely plays with them.  He is house-trained and even uses a dog door independently.  He interacts with all the humans in his foster home but picks one to be his main squeeze.  He will be friends with any human that offers treats. Scrappy enjoys lap time and snuggles, but will also nap on his own on comfy dog beds.  He dotes on his person and loves being held after coming inside from the cold.  He cries when there is a loud boom of thunder and will ask to be close to his person.  He's well mannered in general and has learned some basic commands like 'sit' and 'stay.'  He is not crazy about car rides but does well in public settings.   Weight: 20 lbs. Breed: Red Min Pin mix He is neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped.  Unfortunately, Scrappy tested positive for heartworms and is being treated with a slow kill method because the infection is advanced.  There is risk of developing heart failure, but also a chance he will have a good lifespan.   When this sweet boy came to LHS he was in bad shape and needed extensive care for his diagnostics and treatment to stabilize him. It was determined that he will need to be on medication for the course of his life - $25 a month - to keep his heart strong. Tubi and her siblings are in search of a forever home to call their own. They have been together since birth, but the family has too many animals and need to find homes with the time to give them all the care and attention they need.  Tubi, is a sweet loving pup who does great with dogs, cats and kids. She is housebroken and crate trained. Story

Fontina is being fostered in PA. Tina is a sweetheart! Her absolute favorite activity is cuddling next to her humans! She burrows under a blanket every chance she gets. When Tina came to BDRA, she had a little extra weight on her. She is now down a whole dress size! She went from a medium harness to a small one. She is completely blind but navigates well around the house. She goes up and down the stairs without any help. She sleeps in bed with her people and uses the doggie steps to get up and down. When she isn't snuggling on the couch, she likes to chew on her bones. Tina likes to be outside and take walks. She loves snacks and can hear a bag open from a mile away! Tina loves people and especially loves when they rub her belly and give her butt scratches! She is good around other dogs but isn't very interested in them. She lived with other dogs in her previous foster home. When they bumped into her, she would get mad and grumble, but that's all. One time, she stepped on her little foster brother and he went after her so she just grumbled and held him down with her paw. Tina is a silly pup who loves to be with her people. She is a lovebug who is just waiting for her perfect forever family! BDRA voted against the use of electrical fencing effective immediately.

Story

Midnight is being fostered in PA. Midnite is such a sweet, loving, cuddly little girl. She will be 1 year old in June. She will let you know when she has to go outside to go potty. She is good with both boy and girl dogs of all sizes. We were told she is also good with cats. Midnite knows some commands and is very smart. She loves playing with toys and will throw them up and pounce on them. Her sight is not perfect but she can see well enough to get around. She does stairs just fine and can jump up on things and down off them, such as the couch or bed. She sleeps with her foster mommy at night and is a very good girl. Midnite is good on the leash and just so happy to meet everyone. She would love a home with a fence and also go for walks. She would be another fur sibling’s best buddy to play with. Midnite has so much love to give. BDRA has voted against the use of eletrical fencing effectively immediately.
