Story
Scotty is a sweet, 1-year-old Poodle mix weighing 16.4 pounds, who has recently made strides towards a brighter future after being found matted and dirty as a stray alongside his brother, Sonny. With a lot of love and patience, Scotty is gradually gaining confidence but remains a bit shy. He is undergoing socialization with people and other dogs, making progress day by day. To help him thrive, Scotty would benefit from a calm canine companion who can show him the ropes in a loving home environment. His new family should be prepared to offer him reassurance and support as he adapts to his new life as a pampered pet. While he's still learning to navigate new experiences, it will be truly rewarding to watch him blossom. Scotty does need continued leash training and is still working on house training, but he's already using a doggie door with the commands "outside" or "go potty." He sleeps in a crate at night, although he would love the option to snuggle with you instead. While breed experience is preferred due to Scotty's needs, he has been neutered, freshly shaved, vaccinated, and microchipped, making him ready for his forever home. Regular grooming will be a part of his upkeep. If you're looking for a loving companion and have the patience to help Scotty thrive, he would make a wonderful addition to your family! Here is a list of things that should help us answer you in a more timely manner. 1. When you apply please always use the same email address. If we need to look something up later and you used a different email we are often not able to find it. 2. Adopt a Pet and Petfinders ask you to send us an enquiry. This always delays our response. (Why) a. Our biographies are always very detailed. Therefore sending an enquiry asking us to repeat what it says in the biography causes a lot more work and delays our response. b. We are a small non-profit and do not always have the help to answer as many enquiries as we get. c. Again our Biographies are very detailed and if you just click the link near the bottom of their bio you can fill out an application which we will respond to. 3. For the AFC website (scroll down to the bio at the bottom it says (apply to adopt today- click that link) www.animalfriendsconnect.org 4. For Petfinders ( scroll down to the biography then click the adoption link) http://animalfriendsconnect.org/adoption-application-dogs/ 5. For Adopt a Pet (scroll way down past “Ask about me”) you will see the biography and underneath that will be the adoption questionnaire link.
