Skipper was one of 3 mini golden doodles (along with Buoy and Sailor Red) found running the streets until they were saved by rescuer Connie Pavelich. They were so matted and covered in fleas, we knew no one was going to come looking for them as they would have to explain their condition. When their stray hold was up, our good friend Alicia at Neelys Pet Oasis volunteered to take on these three Littles with us and spent hours/days grooming them to get them feeling well again. Skipper is a spunky, playful pup approximately 1 yr old and 20 lbs, with energy to spare and a heart as big as his zoomies! He’s fast on his paws and always up for an adventure — whether that’s chasing a toy, exploring the yard, or soaking up hugs (his absolute favorite thing!). like a little circus dog, Skipper can jump into your arms from the ground...and he will. He is just so excited to meet people and share his affection. Training in progress: Skipper is crate trained and will thrive on structure and routine. He’s currently working hard on potty training and leash manners — right now, he’s not too sure about that leash and sometimes just flops over like a silly noodle , but he’s learning more every day! He will also need help in learning not to jump on people. We’re preparing for a BIG intake — 10+ Bernedoodle adults (6) and puppies (4+) will be arriving tomorrow, and we need loving, reliable homes ready to welcome them! Always expect groups of breeder surrenders to be dirty, stinky, and in need of baths and TLC. Like many breeder pups, they will also probably arrive with Giardia and/or hookworms, which are both common and treatable — our vet will take care of that as part of their medical plan, and you will go home with meds for the pup. Each puppy will need to return to our vets in RIVERVIEW, BRANDON, SARASOTA, ST PETE or WESLEY CHAPEL for: 2 additional sets of puppy boosters Spay/neuter surgeries (included in their adoption fee) Any follow-up parasite treatment if needed Adult dogs will receive all of their vaccines on Saturday before they go home and will need to return to the same vets up above for their neuters/spays. Best to live within 2 hours of these locations as we need commitments to return to our vets. Pre-adopters get first dibs!
