Story
This precious face belongs to Moira Rose, a sweet, shy, snuggly girl looking for a loving home. Moira was rescued from a puppy mill, discarded and unwanted when she did not sell as a younger puppy. She's now 8 months old and weighs just 10 pounds. Given her past, she is understandably shy when meeting new people and in new environments, but she's progressing greatly in her foster home. Mo was very uncertain about her foster mom when she arrived at Pal's Place. However, after just a few days of patience and understanding, she began to open up and show her affectionate and snuggly personality. She now follows her foster mom everywhere and is very much a lap dog. Moira does well with cats and other dogs, and we are looking to place her in a home with at least one other social canine friend to show her the ropes and help boost her confidence. She is crate-trained and doing well with housebreaking when kept on a regular schedule. Moira's ideal guardians should be patient and understanding of her background and be prepared to give her all the time and love she'll need to adjust to a new home. Due to her timid nature and small size, she is not a good match for a home with children. A securely fenced yard is also required; adopters must be prepared to have her professionally groomed every 6-8 weeks. Moira is spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, and recently groomed. Her adoption fee to the rescue is $500. She's ready and anxious to begin her new life as a much-loved and cherished companion. If you can provide Moira with all she needs to thrive, please contact us today! Moira is being fostered in Lake Geneva, WI, and can be seen by appointment once an application has been submitted to the rescue. You can complete our adoption application online at palsplacerescue.org/adopt/ For more information, you can email palsplace1@hotmail.com or reach out directly to their foster mom, Sandi, at (773) 991-4004 • Moira's adoption fee is $500. This donation helps to cover any necessary medical care to prepare her for adoption. Pal's Place relies solely on donations to care for the animals in our rescue. Your donation also helps save other animals like Moira from euthanasia. • Please email Palsplace1@hotmail.com for an adoption application and put the dog's name in the subject line. Please check your spam/junk folder; sometimes, the applications end up there! • All of our dogs are in foster homes are can be seen BY APPOINTMENT ONLY, after an approved application has been received. To receive more info please email palsplace1@hotmail.com. Email is the preferred method of contact and is the quickest way to receive a response. We cannot place holds on our dogs, please do not contact us until you are prepared to adopt.

Story
Meet Jasper, a 2 year old "double doodle" whatever that is. Jasper didn't have the best start as a "product" of a mass production mill, which really explains how we have a mini poodle mix boy like him and his brother. Now that Jasper is looking for his forever home we can note the following: He is a small boy at just 10 pounds! Jasper loves to run around outside! He has some energy that isn't overwhelming but is also full of life. He is doing great with crate training. He needs a little work with potty training but this is to be expected when you used to live outside. He is super smart and eager to learn. He will continue to make so much progress in a home that is ready to provide structure, love and training Jasper is available within 3 hours of Chicago. His adoption fee includes up to date vaccinations, preventatives, heartworm negative, neuter and microchip. If you are interested in being considered for Jasper please apply directly. If you have questions before applying email adopt@chicagorescueauthority.org If you are viewing from adopt-a-pet to be considered a potential home for this dog please head to our website www.chicagorescueauthority.org and click on our adopt tab to apply directly!

Story
Estella is officially available for adoption. Estella is estimated to be between 5-6 years old, she is a double "doodle". She is a small girl that is looking for a patient home to call her own. She found her way to us from another rescue who rescued her from a puppy mill situation. We have learned the following about her in her wonderful foster home: She will need a home with patience, love and reassurance as most breeder release moms do. She is a sweet dog who loves finding a soft place to lay by her person. She would do best in a home with another dog, or with a friend to socialize with often. She truly looks to her foster home guidance when learning how to dog. She is doing well learning on a leash but of course will still need help building confidence in her forever home. She is crate/potty trained. Estella is available for adoption within 3 hours of Chicago. Estella is spayed, up to date on vaccines, heartworm negative, and microchipped. If you would like to be considered a potential for her please apply here directly. If you have any questions before applying please email adopt@chicagorescueauthority.org. Story
Perry is an X- Puppy Mill Dog Needing a Patient Home That Will Help Him Blossom. Perry is an active young fella that is getting to know what life is like outside a puppymill. He has spent the first year of his life in a mill. He was released by the breeder who no longer wanted him. Perry has been with us about 4 months and during the time he has done very well adjusting to living in a home, not a cage. Puppy Mill dogs are not socialized and are afraid of many noises and sounds another dog has generally been exposed to. Each day is a new learning experience. Perry has learned his lessons well enough to begin a new life with a new family. Mill dogs MUST have fenced in yards for their potty place. This is not optional, This is for safety. They must have dog savvy families that have time and patience to earn a dog's trust. They also should be in adult homes that are very careful with doors, gates, etc,. to prevent door dashing. No one wants a lost dog, but we don't want a mill dog to take off. Perry will benefit from another respectful similar size and age dog in the family. Mill dogs understand dogs far better than people. Perry has more confidence with his mill buddy Gerry. Another dog in the family will help bring Perry out. Of course, you are welcome to adopt his mill buddy Gerry as well if you don't have a buddy for Perry yet. In time, Perry will benefit from training and might even be a candidate for agility training. Training is more than a skill set, it helps create a better bond and communication skill between human and dog which is even more important with a mill dog. What's crucial is that Perry needs a patient and caring owner who is willing to let her set him own pace. In just a couple of months in his new home, we believe Perry will begin to feel safe and fully relax into the household routine. Perry is expected to thrive in a home with either a gentle, respectful dog as well as having a family who is willing to spend a significant amount of time with him This companionship will help him feel more secure as he continues to adjust to her new environment. He MUST also have a fenced-in and gated yard as her potty place for his safety, given his shyer disposition. It's worth noting that once he does feel safe, he'll delight you with his charming poodle personality. Perry is crate trained and potty trained. That being said there is always a learning curve in a new home so please understand you will have some mishaps at first but most of the work is already done. Perry is 1 year old and fully vetted, He has been neutered, received age-appropriate vaccines, microchipped, and is heartworm negative, Subsequent vaccines are at the expense of his adopter His adoption donation is $800.00. He is on the hunt for his own completely committed family, Dogs can live to be 20 years old so he wants to be sure his family is all in for better or for worse! We adopt in the local Chicago metro area. We require home visits, If you would like to apply to be considered as an adoption candidate to adopt Perry please fill out an application for him adoption on our website at: https://www.rescuetailsanimalwelfare.org/info/adoption We are all volunteers with full-time jobs. Story
Merry is A Sweet Young Pup Learning Life Outside The Puppy Mill. Merry was born in a puppy mill with a bleak future ahead as a puppy mom. One one had, she won the lotto when the breeder no longer had use for her however on the other hand, it also could have ended badly for her .We were able to secure her safe passage out and she joined our rescue and now has a promising future ahead. Merry is a Poodle Bichon gal with a happy disposition. Coming from a mill she does not have the exposure to every day things and skill set another puppy does. She is a bit timid and needs to learn about sounds like sirens,, traffic, riding in a car, etc.. She needs a home to take the time and patience to slowly introduce her to everyday life, She needs to learn bathroom skills as well. All puppies love to chew so puppy proofing your home is something to plan on. Merry would benefit in a home with another gentle dog to show her the ropes and help her burn off some of her puppy play energy. She MUST have a secure fenced in yard for her potty place to keep her safe from being a flight hazard, We highly recommend puppy training classes to help create stronger bonds and establish a clear channel of communication with each other, Training also helps you bounce off daily situations with a trainer in real time for support, Merry is fully vetted, She has been spayed, received age appropriate vaccines, microchipped, Subsequent vaccines are at the expense of her adopter, Her adoption donation is $1200.00. She is on the hunt for her own completely committed family, Little Dogs can live to be 20+ years old so she wants to be sure her family is all in for better or for worse! IF INTERESTED IN A PUPPY (UNDER 12 MONTHS): YOU MUST HAVE A FLEXIBLE WORK SCHEDULE OR SOMEONE HOME ALL DAY. PUPPIES NEED TO BE LET OUT TO POTTY EVERY COUPLE OF HOURS APART, THEY NEED SOCIALIZATION AND BONDING AND NEED TRAINING (HOUSETRAINING AND BEHAVIORAL TRAINING). IF YOU WORK LONG HOURS, HAVE A BUSY SOCIAL SCHEDULE OR NOT FINANCIALLY SECURE THEN A PUPPY IS NOT FOR YOU. We adopt in the local Chicago metro area. We require home visits, If you would like to apply to be considered as an adoption candidate to adopt Merry please fill out an application for her adoption on our website at: https://www.rescuetailsanimalwelfare.org/info/aoption We are all volunteers with full time jobs. Baymax is a sweet and gentle soul. He is more of a slow and relaxed pace and just needs lots of love. You have to guide him on his walk as he is blind and you need to make sure his pathway is clear. He is a gentle dog and starting to enjoy the snuggles, hugs and kisses. He has made huge leaps from when we started fostering in December. He is not completely house broken but he is working on it. Loves his food and can smell it a mile away. He gets along with my other dog. He is no trouble at all just needs some stability, consistency and love.

Story
Tommy is a very happy and sweet boy. Ever since he got into his temporary foster home, his tail has not stopped wagging! We do not know much about this boy's past other than he was brought in as a stray, but we can tell he used to have a home as he is a very good boy! Tommy is a friendly pup and loves the company of people and other dogs. He is potty trained, walks well on a leash, and is working on crate training. He willingly goes into his crate to rest during the day and settles down at night, but he prefers to be in your bed (or under!) if he had a choice! He gets the most excited about going outside and his current foster family takes him on 3-4 walks a day. Tommy loves to follow around his roommate (another doodle mix) and is always down to play. He is learning to respect boundaries from his roommate and is doing a great job so far. If his roommate allows it, Tommy will snuggle next to him during rest time. Although Tommy came from the streets, he has shown no signs of resource guarding or aggression to other humans or dogs. His foster figured out that he sometimes doesn't like to be picked up/moved and will let you know by his demeanor change. Tommy is a very special boy who has a lot of love to give and is ready to receive love in a forever home. Within the first 2 days of having him, he has been very affectionate to both humans and dogs. Tommy cuddles are simply the best and melts our hearts. Tommy does have a few ailments that will need to be managed. He has a heart condition which is currently being managed through medication. We try to keep his heart rate down by resting after a long walk or play, but so far, he's been living a normal dog life at his foster! In addition, he doesn't have the best teeth - but the great news is that he doesn't have bad breath!! He has about 6ish teeth which means he gets treated to all the yummy soft foods. Tommy is also suffering from bad allergies, so we are working on the best treatment plan. His current foster family has removed chicken from his diet to see if it helps his tear stains. Tommy is just the happiest little guy, and nothing brings him down. In the short amount of time his foster has had him, he has brought them so much joy. He will make a loving addition to his new family, and his foster family cannot wait to get to know him more over the next couple of weeks. Tommy's current foster family will be out of town for 3 weeks, so we need to find him a new foster or adoption by then (July 9)! Due to his ailments, he will do best in a home and not the shelter. If he cannot find a more permanent foster/adoption during this time, his current foster will love to bring him back into their homes after vacation as they enjoy having him so much
