Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Mia is what is called a "Daisy Dog", a designer breed. "Daisy Dogs" were bred in the 1960's from a Poodle, Shih Tzu, and Bichon to create the 'perfect' dog.   Mia is a sweet 9-year-old "Daisy" dog.  She is very affectionate and gentle.  Mia is UTD on vaccines, spayed and microchipped.   Happy Days Dog and Cat Rescue microchips all dogs and cats before adoption. Microchips are implanted between the shoulder blades and are another form of identification should the animal get lost. The microchips are registered to Happy Days Dog and Cat Rescue. The microchip is transferred to the adopter once the adoption is complete. The adopter is responsible for a one-time $15 microchip enrollment fee.  Microchips are enrolled with AKC Reunite.    Dogs and Cats still need to have collar with tags should they get lost. Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.June 21, 2026, 5:40 am

Story
Meet Dottie May This very senior little lady may be just 4 lbs, but she still has so much love left to give. Dottie is looking for a special kind of home—one that understands she’s in her final chapter, but not ready to say goodbye just yet. She has a significant heart murmur, is blind, and has little to no hearing. But what she does have is a gentle spirit and a whole lot of love. All she’s asking for is a soft dog bed, kind and patient hands, and someone who will let her spend the rest of her days feeling safe and cared for. Dottie doesn’t need much—just comfort, understanding, and a quiet place to rest. She deserves to know what it feels like to be truly loved in a home of her own. Note: Dottie does have a few mats in her fur, but they aren’t pulling, and we don’t want to cause her any stress trying to remove them. Do you have room in your heart and home for Dottie May? If so, we would love to hear from you.We do not have a facility for you to visit. You are welcome to email ccrcdogs@ccrcdogs.com with specific questions, but please complete the online application, which can be found at www.ccrcdogs.com, to secure your position in line for one of our dogs. You can also find a description of our process on that same page. Puppies will not be available to be seen until their 10-day quarantine has passed. Our adoption fees are listed on our website and cover the cost of the spay/neuter, age-appropriate shots and tests, medications to bring the dog to full health, and a free visit with one of our approved vets after adoption. Most dogs at CCRC are obtained from animal control centers so there is often very little known about their history or current habits. You can always expect to do some training, regardless of whether you adopt a dog or a puppy, including crate training, house training, and basic manners. CCRC has a variety of materials and resources to assist you with this, and we have trainers who will offer free phone/email support. June 22, 2026, 8:43 am

Story
Meet Charlie! Age: 2 Years OldWeight: 10 lbsBreed: Yorkie/Miniature Poodle Mix Charlie is a happy-go-lucky little guy with a playful personality and plenty of love to give. This handsome 12-pound Yorkie/Poodle mix was surrendered when his owner was no longer able to care for him. While it was clear he was loved, Charlie arrived with an overgrown coat and nails that had gotten far too long, reminding us just how important regular grooming and routine care are for these fluffy companions. Despite the changes in his life, Charlie has remained upbeat, friendly, and eager to make new friends. He has done well with other active dogs, but does like to bark at the cats in his foster home. He enjoys being part of the action and likes to know what his people are up to at all times. Charlie would do best in a home with older, dog-savvy children who can respect his size and understand that small dogs sometimes need a little space when adjusting to new situations. He has demonstrated a good understanding of house manners and settles nicely into a routine. Because he was recently neutered, his future family should be aware that he may initially mark in new environments while he continues adjusting and his hormones settle. Charlie is currently working on crate training and establishing a consistent routine in foster care. He is making good progress, but like many young dogs, he will benefit from patience and consistency as he continues learning expectations in his new home. When it comes to walks, Charlie is always ready for an adventure. He enjoys leash walks but has a tendency to pull when excitement gets the better of him. Continued leash training will help him become a more polished walking companion. He can also be a bit vocal when excited or when he feels it's his responsibility to alert his people to potential dangers, making him an excellent little neighborhood watch captain. As a Yorkie/Poodle mix, Charlie will require regular professional grooming throughout his life to keep his coat healthy, comfortable, and free of painful mats. Charlie is not a good candidate for a tether or invisible fence and will do best with a family committed to providing safe, supervised outdoor time and plenty of companionship. If you're looking for a cheerful, affectionate companion with a fun personality and a zest for life, Charlie may be the perfect addition to your family. Charlie is ready to leave his past behind and find a family that will love him furever. Charlie is:Current on Bordetella, Distemper, and RabiesDewormedHeartworm Tested: NegativeReceiving Heartworm and Flea PreventionMicrochippedScheduled for neuter at our partner veterinary office in Chesterfield on 7/2 (included in the adoption fee).ADOPTION FEE: $400 IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN THIS PET, PLEASE COMPLETE THE APPROPRIATE APPLICATION FOUND ON OUR WEBSITE HTTP://FUREVERTAILS.COM. Unfortunately, at this time we are not currently adopting outside of the state of MI. We process applications ONLY - there is no guarantee that you will get a response to an inquiry. Many of the animals in our foster program come to us with limited or unknown histories. We make every effort to evaluate each animal’s temperament and behavior, including testing their interactions with other dogs, cats, and children (defined as individuals under the age of 18, when available). However, every animal is unique—just as every child and household environment is different. While we strive to set both our foster animals and adoptive families up for success through thorough assessments and transparent communication, **we cannot guarantee any specific behavioral outcome**. Animals can be unpredictable by nature, and behavior may change in new environments or over time. By proceeding with adoption or foster placement, applicants acknowledge and accept this inherent risk and agree that no guarantees, either expressed or implied, are made regarding the temperament or behavior of any animal placed through our program. FUREVER TAILS IS A NON-PROFIT, NO-KILL, FOSTER HOME BASED ANIMAL RESCUE BASED OUT OF OAKLAND TOWNSHIP, MI. OUR FOSTER ANIMALS ARE LIVING IN FOSTER HOMES AND TREATED LIKE FAMILY UNTIL THEY FIND THEIR OWN FUREVER FAMILIES. OUR ADOPTION PROECESS REQUIRES AN APPLICATION TO BE COMPLETED AND APPROVED BEFORE A MEET-N-GREET WITH THE ANIMAL CAN TAKE PLACE. ADOPTION FEES ARE NECESSARY TO HELP US COVER VETTING COSTS FOR OUR RESCUED ANIMALS. ##2769334##
