Story
Meet Coco — The Sweetest Little Cavapoo with a Heart Full of Love! Fostered in Voorhees, NJ Coco is a 3-year-old Cavapoo who was surrendered to rescue from a breeder — and those days are long behind her. We promised this gentle girl that her future would be filled with love, comfort, and a forever family… and now she’s ready to find them. Coco is an absolute doll baby — soft, sweet, and happiest when she’s right by your side. She’s a true cuddle bug, always snuggled up next to you on the couch or in bed . She’s what we lovingly call a Velcro dog — she bonds deeply and just wants to feel safe, loved, and close. Coco’s Highlights:• Dog-friendly (loves following and copying her foster dog!)• Great with kids of all ages• Wonderful with adults & elderly• ‍ Loves leashed walks• Loves being pet — everyone is her friend!• Enjoys chew bones & treats• Not a big barker• No resource guarding• Gentle, calm, and affectionate At Home with Coco:• 95% house trained and sleeps through the night • Potty trained with a routine• Crate trained for short daytime periods (but prefers sleeping with her humans )• Walks beautifully on a leash• Little to no shedding• Still learning basic commands — very smart and treat-motivated! Coco’s Perfect Home:Coco would love a home where someone is around most of the day, as she thrives on companionship. A fenced yard would be a dream , but it’s not required as long as she gets regular walks and an active lifestyle. Another dog is a bonus (not required!) — she loves having a furry role model to learn from Coco is still learning how to be a dog after her past, and she’s blossoming more every day. She’s gentle, loving, loyal, and incredibly special — the kind of dog who will quietly steal your heart and never give it back. Story
Meet Nellie — A Gentle Little Soul Learning What Love Feels Like **We are ideally looking for a foster to adopt home for Nellie who is willing to work with her on socialization and learning to trust humans.  Her ideal home is patient, understanding, with another dog and no small children*** When we took Nellie in from another rescue, she had been surrendered with several other doodles from a breeder with no socialization, and we made her a promise — that her future would be soft, kind, and full of love. Now we’re searching for the special home that will keep that promise with us. Nellie is a 7-month-old poodle mix with the sweetest heart. She’s still very timid and shy, but behind those quiet eyes is a girl who truly wants to trust and belong. She may take time to blossom, but when she does, it will be beautiful. What Nellie Loves: Other dogs — they make her feel safe and confident Her crate — it’s her cozy little comfort zone Calm voices, gentle hands, and peaceful routines She is still working on potty training , so she will need a patient, understanding adopter who is willing to move at her pace and celebrate the small wins.Because she hasn't learned how to walk on a leash yet, a fenced in yard is needed  Nellie would do best in a foster-to-adopt or adoptive home with someone who understands shy dogs and is committed to helping her learn that the world isn’t such a scary place. Another friendly dog in the home would be a huge bonus for her confidence. Nellie doesn’t need perfection — she just needs time, patience, and love. In return, she’ll give you the quiet, soulful kind of devotion that only the most special dogs offer. She is spayed, up to date on all vaccines and microchipped. She is being fostered in Marmora NJ, If you’re the kind of person who believes the shy ones are worth waiting for, Nellie may be your heart dog. Story
Marty is being fostered in PA. Little Marty is a sweet, easy-going little mini poodle guy who gets along with dogs and cats and people of all ages. His breed is guessed at as a full blooded mini poodle. His estimated age is about 13 but he's a very quick-stepping little man and enjoys exploring his environment, especially outside. He can find his way to the door and he was doing a great job at pottying outside until his foster mom went back to work a couple weeks ago. He will be very easy to get back in the habit of eliminating outside with a forever family who is home more. He's fairly easy to figure out in that, if he's up and exploring, he needs to go out. :) Marty has a very thin coat of fur on his torso but he does not have any visible skin issues and does not itch. His thyroid levels were checked and were fine. We know little about his past life so he may be recuperating from a past issue. Marty is leash trained and does well but because he's a small and older guy, walks won't be very fast. He also rides well in the car. At this time, he seems to enjoy dog bed hopping over being on a lap and he will walk right off the edge of a chair or bed. He needs to be carried up and down stairs and has no awareness of being at the top of stairs. He will remind his foster mom if his breakfast or dinner is overly late. Marty has had a slight cough since arriving in his foster home and following an xray on September 16th, it was discovered that his heart is slightly enlarged and he has a small amount of fluid in the upper portion of his one lung. These are both signs of congestive heart failure, which is fairly common in little old men like Marty. He will probably need to take Benazepril, Lasix and Pimobendan for the rest of his life. These medications run about 50.00 per month. Marty will have a dental on September 26th. He will probably need to have most, if not all, of his teeth extracted but it will be so much better for him to have a healthy mouth again! Marty will make a sweet little companion for some family. He's very excited to be spoiled and doted on for the rest of his days. BDRA has voted against the use of electrical fencing effective immediately.

Story
Chase is a small poodle (not a toy or tea cup; smaller than a standard poodle). He loves to be around people and is house trained. He loves attention and to play with other dogs but sometimes becomes jealous and will bark. We acquired Chase from a farm in Lancaster County, PA almost two years ago. He has all of his initial shots and is groomed a few times a year. Right now his hair is bit short but will growing back soon. Our lifestyle has changed and find ourselves always in need of a sitter for Chase. We think it’s best to permanently rehome him.

Story
We have a transport where we will be personally taking our dogs to their new home leaving January 15th 2026 to the east coast from where we are located here in Southern California. Surrounding states will be added to our route as needed ☺️ We would love to add Chloe to our trip for the right home! As always for our adopters peace of mind we never ask for anything up front! Her adoption fee, along with her adopting families share of travel costs will be due the day we arrive in person with Chloe ultimately finalizing her adoption. Chloe is a truly special little soul, and one of those dogs that leaves a lasting impression on everyone who meets her. She is a mini doodle weighing 20 lbs, full grown and at a perfect, healthy weight. She is naturally leggy and lean, giving her an elegant, athletic look that matches her confident yet gentle personality. Born on 10/4/24, she has already grown into herself beautifully. Her mix is one we honestly fell in love with the moment we learned it. Chloe’s mom was a 25 lb poodle and her dad was a shihpoo (Shih Tzu/poodle mix), and the result is such a unique and stunning combination. We adore both breeds individually, but seeing them come together in this mini doodle form has been an absolute joy. Her coat is hypoallergenic and low-shedding, with a soft wavy texture that is not only beautiful but also much easier to maintain. She is phenomenal at the groomers and truly enjoys being pampered and looking her best. Chloe is wonderful with other dogs and does great with cats as well. She genuinely loves everyone she meets, but children hold a very special place in her heart. She is gentle, affectionate, and naturally drawn to them in the sweetest way. She came to us from a very young couple who were expecting their first child and navigating some big life transitions. As they prepared to move out on their own, the financial realities of pet fees and the uncertainty of becoming new parents made the heartbreaking decision clear to them. They wanted Chloe to continue thriving in a stable, secure environment, and trusted us to help her find a family who could offer her just that. She is fully house trained and follows a great routine, happily going outside every 3–4 hours. She is crate trained and currently sleeps in her crate at night, but she would transition easily to a cozy dog bed beside you if that’s what her new family prefers. Chloe walks beautifully on leash and truly enjoys her walks, and she is an excellent traveler who does great in the car. One of her most endearing quirks is her love for clothes. She has been dressed in coats and sweaters since she was little, and if she spots one of her outfits nearby, she will absolutely ask you to put it on her — it’s impossible not to laugh. She has so much character and spunk wrapped up in her beautiful heart. She loves to snuggle and be close to her people, yet she also has an independent side that we really admire. She can be a little shy when first meeting new people, but it never takes long before she opens up and becomes a loyal friend for life. Chloe is not a barker unless she is communicating with you — asking for a treat, a walk, or simply letting you know she needs something. She’s perfectly happy lounging on the couch and watching movies all afternoon, then eagerly hopping up and being ready for a walk right after. She truly is a gem in every sense of the word. Adoption fee is on our website at the bottom of her adoption listing at https://www.breadoflifek9refuge.org/post/chloe-4 This includes her spay, vaccines, microchip and registration, an antibiotic injection given to aid in healing after her spay, a full exam with our vet (which went perfectly), as well as the months of care, training, and grooming she has received while with us.
