Meet Emma! Emma is a 5-year-old Miniature Poodle mix who weighs about 28 pounds. This sweet girl came from a difficult situation, and because of that she can be quite shy and sensitive when meeting new people or experiencing new environments. Emma prefers to take her time getting to know someone and would do best in a patient home that allows her to move at her own pace as she learns to feel safe and comfortable.Due to her sensitive nature, we are asking that any children in Emma’s forever home be 13 years or older and able to respect her boundaries and give her the space she needs while she adjusts.Emma has shown some potential to live with another dog, as long as that dog is calm, respectful of her space, and not too forward. Slow, thoughtful introductions would be important to help set her up for success with a canine companion. At this time, we are unsure how Emma would do around cats.Once Emma warms up, her affectionate side really begins to show. She enjoys quiet companionship and is happiest curling up in your lap for some cozy time together. While she may not be the kind of dog who wants to go everywhere with you, she will gladly be your gentle little shadow at home.If you’re looking for a soft-hearted companion and are willing to give her the patience and kindness she deserves, Emma may be the perfect match for you.
