Story
Meet Theodore – the sweetest member of our very own rescue "Chipmunks!" 🐾🎶 Just like his namesake, our Theodore is the shy, lovable soul of the group. This 12 lb male Merle Mini Poodle was born on 4/7/2020 and is ready to trade his past life as a breeding dog for a world full of "Alvin-sized" adventures and cozy naps. Theodore is still finding his voice, but he has a heart of gold. He’s currently a student at "The Rescue Inn Academy," slowly learning that life as a cherished pet means treats, soft beds, and endless chin scratches. Theodore’s Stats: 🎤 Style: A stunning Merle coat that’s definitely stage-ready. Theodore cleans up nicely - here are his "before" and "after" shots! 🎤 Personality: Shy but incredibly sweet. 🎤 Training: He’s currently working on his potty training! Coming from a breeding background, he’s still learning the ropes of house manners, so he’ll need a family who can offer him some extra grace and guidance. 🎤 Dream Home: A patient, gentle family who understands that the best things take time to bloom. Theodore may not be ready to belt out a solo just yet, but with a little patience and a lot of love, he’ll be the loyal companion you’ve been dreaming of. Are you ready to be the "Dave" to our Theodore? 🏠❤️ Email us at therescueinn@gmail.com AND complete an adoption application here: https://therescueinn.com/adoption-application.html

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Sadie May is a 5 year old Poodle mix that was surrendered to us after the sudden passing of her dad, and her mom was unable to care for her own her own due to her own health issues. Poor Sadie lost everything she ever knew in an instant, but this girl has been so brave and has done a tremendous job adjusting to all the recent changes in her life. We're so incredibly proud of her! Sadie is absolutely meant to be someone's best friend. She went everywhere with her previous owner, and was his constant shadow. She loves nothing more than to be with people, preferably on their laps! She enjoys giving paw and holding hands while she sits with you. This girl is smart, social, friendly, and full of personality! While she's great with kids, she really would make the perfect companion for an older adult (or two!), or a single person in search of a 'move in ready' buddy. She falls in love quickly with anyone who will give her ear scratches or a belly rub, and while she's an excellent cuddler, she's also always up for an adventure with you! Sadie gets along well with smaller, lower energy dogs. Larger or more active pups make her a little nervous, and it takes her awhile to get comfortable around them. She has ignored the cats in her foster home. She's a really well rounded, easy, adaptable dog that would be a wonderful addition to just about any family! She's house trained, crate trained, well behaved at the groomer, walks well on leash, and rides beautifully in the car. She knows tricks like sit, paw, and sit pretty.  Because of her Poodle coat, her new family will have to be committed to keeping her on a regular grooming schedule to prevent painful matting. Daily brushing and a spa visit every 6 weeks or so is necessary to keep her looking and feeling her best! Sadie is 25 lbs, and is spayed, microchipped, dewormed, up to date on vaccines, heartworm negative, and current on her monthly flea/tick/heartworm prevention. Her adoption fee is $450.  Please click here to submit an adoption application. Story
Meet Rocket 💗🐾Rocket is a sweet older gentleman, born in September 2021, who is ready to find a calm and loving forever home. He weighs 14 pounds. Rocket does like other dogs, but he tends to prefer female dogs. He would also likely do well in a home with cats. Since he is a little more timid, Rocket would do best in a quieter home where he can feel safe, comfortable, and loved. This sweet boy would make an excellent lap dog. He is looking for someone who wants a gentle companion to snuggle with and spoil. ❤️ He recently had a dental cleaning and did have most of his teeth removed, but don’t let that fool you. Rocket still gets along just fine with the 8 teeth he has left! He may need softer food or smaller bites, but he is adjusting well and still has plenty of love to give.Rocket is a recent arrival from a high volume breeder in Amish country and probably aged out of the baby makin' business. Being rescued from a high volume breeder doesn't mean there is anything wrong, The dog could have been the wrong color, size, fur, whatever or now retired from breeding. We are lucky enough to work with a vet in the area who cares enough to scoop up these dogs and get them adopted instead of ........?? Adoption fee is $350All Ashland County Humane Society animals' adoption fees include:~spay/neuter~micro-chip~de-worming~vaccinations, including rabies~heartworm preventionIf you are interested in adopting this dog, please visit:www.ashlandhumane.org/adoption-application(copy and paste link to address bar) for a printable application.Complete and email back to applications@AshlandHumane.orgWe are an all volunteer-based organization that does not have a building or a staff, only 8 members with jobs and families, trying to make a difference. We do not have the volunteer manpower to show animals to non-approved applicants. If your application gets screened and approved, we will contact you to arrange a meet and greet and you can decide if this is the right pet for you.Thank you for understanding! We definitely want all our rescued animals to find great families!Thank you for your interest in a Rescue Pet! Adopt, don't shop!

Story
Kaley Q’s story is one of resilience, healing, and learning how to love life again. This sweet girl came to us in absolutely devastating condition with a severe leg injury that left her unable to use it. Watching her transform from hurting and struggling into the happy, playful dog she is today has been nothing short of incredible. Now at 11 years old, Kaley Q is back to feeling like herself again — and honestly, you’d never guess her age! She’s active, playful, and completely obsessed with meeting new people. Everywhere she goes, she’s ready to make a new best friend and soak up all the attention she can get. Kaley Q was also diagnosed with Lyme disease and is currently undergoing treatment, but she continues to tackle every challenge with a wagging tail and a positive spirit. Kaley Q is proof that age is just a number. She still has so much love, life, and joy ahead of her, and she’s hoping to spend it in a forever home surrounded by people who adore her as much as we do. If you’re looking for a resilient, loving companion with a heart of gold, Kaley Q is ready to meet you.

Story
At 12 years old, Dimitri has been through more than most dogs ever should. After a long journey to get back on his feet, this resilient senior boy is finally ready to find the forever home he deserves. Dimitri is currently doing amazing and soaking up every bit of comfort and kindness that comes his way. Along his journey, he was diagnosed with anaplasmosis, Lyme disease, and ehrlichiosis, so he’ll need an adopter who understands that senior dogs sometimes need a little extra care and a lot of extra love. What Dimitri dreams of most is simple — soft blankets, fluffy beds, gentle affection, and a peaceful home where he can finally relax and enjoy life. Despite everything he’s endured, he still has so much love left to give. If you’re looking for a sweet soul to spoil rotten and give the golden years he’s always deserved, Dimitri is waiting patiently to meet you.
