Meet Nimbus ❤️! When Nimbus first arrived at the shelter, there was a beautiful dog somewhere underneath what looked like one giant, completely dreaded mop! Appropriately named after a cloud, Nimbus was an owner surrender whose family simply didn’t have the time for her. Once she was pulled into rescue and groomed, underneath all that matted hair was a completely different dog—and an absolutely beautiful one! Nimbus spent time living inside a foster home as part of a huge pack before making her way to The Asher House! That time in a home gave us the chance to learn a lot about this girl, and there is so much to love! Nimbus does wonderfully with other dogs and gets along with dogs of all shapes and sizes! She seems to especially find her happy place with smaller dogs and younger puppies. She loves playing with them, seeks out their company, and seems especially comfortable having those little buddies around. Because she enjoys that companionship so much, we think Nimbus would be happiest in a home with another friendly dog! Nimbus is also very smart and really wants to please! She’s attentive to her person, eager to learn, and seems to genuinely care about figuring out what you’re asking of her. She’s house trained and kennel trained and will go right into her kennel, giving her a wonderful foundation for life with her future family! And once Nimbus decides you’re her person, she really loves her person! She becomes very attached, wants to stay close, and is incredibly affectionate. She has a very gentle, easy temperament and would do well with kids ages 5 and older. We have not had Nimbus around cats yet, so at this time, we don’t know how she would do with a feline friend. At around 40 pounds, Nimbus is currently a little thin and could stand to gain some weight. With good food, continued care, and plenty of love, we expect this already gorgeous girl to fill out beautifully! Nimbus went from an unrecognizable, matted little cloud to this beautiful, smart, affectionate girl who has shown us just how ready she is for family life! She’s young, playful, eager to please, and now waiting at The Asher House for the person—and hopefully a dog friend—who will make her part of the family! Meet Kelsey! Kelsey is 10 years old but has the energy and playfulness of a puppy! Kelsey LOVES toys and he flips them up in the air, catches them and then shakes them like crazy. He is just so cute! He is about 10lbs and is good with all people, other dogs and cats. Kelsey has a dental cleaning scheduled for October 25th so we are seeking a foster to adopt for darling Kelsey. Kelsey has limited vision due to age, but he gets around no problem. Kelsey is current on all vaccines, neutered, microchipped and his blood panel came back with all normal values. Bilbo came to us after spending 4 years in a garage with no socialization, Afraid of everything, under weigh and severely matted. He has since came out of his shell, tho I do not think he would be good around kids under 12. He loves toys and especially chew toys like Bam Bones & Bully Sticks. He does not like to be groomed and in the past has had to be totally sedated but again we are working on running a comb thru he hair as its growing back and he is doing pretty good as long as you take time and do a little bit at a time.. He has great recall at my house and uses a doggy door to potty and play outside which he loves. He does like to be on your lap not necessarily for pets just to lay there and be close to you. He needs some work on his leash walking as he does try to pull a bit when out on a walk and encounter moving cars which he is afraid of, but he does ride in the car without any issues and seams to enjoy that. He MUST have a securely fenced yard, NO Dog Parks until he is trained better and NO apartments as he can be a barker when he hears something or when he is trying to get one of the other dogs to play. He is good with other dogs but doesn`t read warnings when they have had enough. He will nip at the back legs to get them to play more. With this I think he should be an only dog, maybe visits with other dogs but his home be only his. He does need to continue learning manners so someone who will work with him and a trainer would be a perfect home for Bilbo. He is a 5 year old puppy that is learning that people are not all bad and he enjoys learning new things. He is now Neutered, up to date on vaccines and microchipped. His adoption fee is $340.
