Story
Meet Kelsey! Kelsey is 10 years old but has the energy and playfulness of a puppy! Kelsey LOVES toys and he flips them up in the air, catches them and then shakes them like crazy. He is just so cute! He is about 10lbs and is good with all people, other dogs and cats. Kelsey has a dental cleaning scheduled for October 25th so we are seeking a foster to adopt for darling Kelsey. Kelsey has limited vision due to age, but he gets around no problem. Kelsey is current on all vaccines, neutered, microchipped and his blood panel came back with all normal values. Interested in Kelsey? Please email stmartinsanimalrescue@hotmail.com and ask for an application. 🐶🩵🐶

Story
Hi, I’m Howie, a friendly, active 2 y/o schnauzer mix. The foster lady thinks I’m a schnoodle ( schnauzer/poodle mix), a fancy designer dog. No one knows for sure though since I haven’t had one of those fancy DNA tests done and we have no idea who my parents are. You see, I was an orphan as I was taken to the Laredo shelter and transported all the way to San Antonio. I guess the foster peeps could see that I am big city material! I am small ( 16 pounds give or take) and don’t shed. I love to ride in the car and hike with my peeps. I am very smart and eager to please. I get along well with both large and small dogs and love everyone! I am pretty good on a leash but am still learning manners. I am kennel and doggy door trained and listen well to my foster parents. I am currently wearing belly bands inside as I am still learning not to mark in the house. I just lost the family jewels today ( the old snip snip :) so foster mom is expecting the marking to subside. If not, I tolerate the bands and the nice furniture remains clean. You see, I am a perfect gentleman. I prefer being indoors but also like playing in the back yard with my crew. I really just want to be where the action is. I will make a great apartment or house dog. I would do best with a family or active person who likes to go for walks or spend time playing with me as I still have some puppy energy. So, if you are looking for a handsome hunk, I’m your guy. I’ve been looking for my furever family and I will reward the lucky peeps with lots of kisses and hugs! Local adoption fee is $400 in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $750 ( includes transport to your area) "Saving one dog will not change the world, but surely for that dog, the world will change." ~ Karen Davison

Story
Hi, I’m Beatrice! I’m an adorable 20-pound Maltese/Poodle mix with a gentle heart and a sweet personality that I’m slowly learning to share with the world. I can be pretty shy when I first meet new people, so I’m looking for a family who understands that the best relationships sometimes take a little time. I’ve already started coming out of my shell more and more, and it’s been so wonderful for everyone to see my personality begin to shine! I can be shy around other dogs too, but with patience, slow introductions, and time to adjust, I can become more comfortable. I would do well with kids ages 5 and up who can be gentle with me, respect my space, and allow me to build trust at my own pace. I haven’t been around cats yet, but if my future family has feline friends, I can be cat tested. With my gentle nature, I’d probably do just fine with cats, especially with a thoughtful introduction and a little time to get comfortable. One of my favorite things is going for walks! I love getting outside, taking my time, and making sure I get plenty of good sniffs in along the way. Once I feel safe and comfortable in a home, a whole other side of me comes out. I love to play chase, zoom around as fast as my little legs will carry me, and show off my playful side! And there is one very important requirement for my future family: multiple belly rubs every single day. This is non-negotiable! Once I decide you’re one of my people, I hope you’re prepared to keep those belly rubs coming. I may need a little extra patience in the beginning, but give me the time and space I need, and you’ll get to experience the joy of watching a shy little girl blossom into a playful, loving companion. My adoption fee is $295 and I'm spayed, vaccinated and microchipped. Apply to meet me today!
