Milo would thrive best in an adult-only household that provides a very structured environment. Leader of the Pack is offering a six-week training course to help him adjust and succeed in his forever home. Please note that he has a high prey drive, so he cannot be placed in a home with children or other animals. Additionally, you must live within an hour of the rescue to adopt him. You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Introducing Flash, the charming 10 year old poodle with a heart full of love. Weighing just 15 pounds, Flash has found comfort in a loving and patient foster home, where he's doing great! This cutie walks nicely on a leash and enjoys car rides and playing with toys. Flash’s ideal home would be with adults or older teens who can offer him a calm and predictable environment. Flash’s owner was male and, believe it or not, he is most comfortable with them. Young children, while wonderful, would be a bit too much for this sensitive soul.  Flash would do best as an only dog so that he can calmly acclimate to his home. He has been through quite a bit and will definitely need some patience and time.  Look at Flash enjoying the snow here: https://www.facebook.com/reel/2612209105830481 He’s neutered, microchipped, and current on his vaccinations, so he’s ready to start his next chapter. Could that be with you? If you're ready to give Flash the loving forever home he deserves, please fill out an application at njshpetrescue.org.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.January 18, 2026, 4:33 pm

Story
Abigail has had a whirlwind week and is ready for a new life. This sweet crusty matted old lady was discarded locally unable to see past her hair, tightly matted over her whole body. She was never spayed and had multiple mammary tumors that we had removed plus a spay and dental, and she’s healing nicely. The masses were a low grade cancer with no sign of spread right now, so she should just be monitored going forward for new lumps or metastasis down the road. But overall a good prognosis and we are hopeful she will have some quality years ahead of her. She’s very sweet, loves to eat, sleeps well cuddled in soft blankets, and howls like a wolf with excitement at feeding time. She’s 13lbs and some type of poodle/maltese type with long tall legs, and probably at least 10-12 years old. She doesn’t mind other small gentle dogs and settles into a home picking up a routine very quickly and not making waves. Email njwoof@cs.com to meet Abigail in Northern NJ Since COVID-19, we are no longer holding our Sunday adoption events until further notice, but we are scheduling meet and greet appointments with a specific dog or dogs at our meeting spots in Northern NJ. To streamline adoptions, all communication before, during, and after the adoption process is done through email only: we have limited volunteers able to return phone calls. Submit an application from our website www.secondchance.petfinder.com to speed up the adoption process and email any questions to us at njwoof@cs.com. Please check your email regularly for next steps. All our dogs reside in foster care in Northern NJ until adoption and we do not have a central shelter location. We are a small all-volunteer organization focused on rescuing local dogs from area shelters, as well as accepting some surrenders and puppy mill rescues.

Meet Bali – Soft Eyes, a Gentle Heart, and So Much Love to Give 📍 Currently in Korea 💛 Available for adoption through 3ft Rescue 🐶 Name: Bali 🎂 Estimated Age: 8 years ⚖️ Weight: 7.7 lbs (3.5 kg) 🐾 Breed: Poodle 🩺 Spayed: Yes 🚽 Housebroken: 60% pee pad trained – still learning 🧒 Good with Kids: Yes – very gentle 🐕 With Other Dogs: Yes – friendly and social 🐱 With Cats: Unknown Bali may be small in size, but her heart is as big as they come. She was rescued from the same large illegal breeding facility as her friend, Saha — a place where she spent years being used, but never loved. Now at 8 years old, Bali is experiencing comfort and kindness for the first time in her life. She’s still learning basic routines like pee pad use (currently about 60% successful), but she makes up for it in every way with her soft, loving presence. She’s great with other dogs, has no aggression toward children, and absolutely adores being around people. Her eyes light up when you talk to her, and she thrives on gentle affection and reassurance. Bali isn’t looking for a flashy life — just a safe lap, a warm home, and a heart that will love her for who she is and where she’s been. If you're open to adopting a senior and offering her the second half of her life filled with love and dignity, Bali is waiting — quietly, sweetly, and hopefully. ✨ Seniors like Bali may not have had the best beginning, but with your love, they can have the ending they always deserved.

Story
**Important Adoption Information All of our dogs are currently living in private shelters or foster homes in South Korea. Once adoption is approved, dogs travel to the United States through legal and fully compliant international transport procedures. Video calls are available, and adopters can communicate in real time with our rescue team through official organizational channels and apps throughout the process. **Name: Rian Estimated Age: Approximately 6 years old (age is estimated) Gender / Spay Status: Female / Spayed Weight: 3 kg (about 6.6 lbs) Breed: Poodle **Background & Health Notes Rian was rescued from an illegal puppy mill on Ganghwa Island. Based on her condition and background, it is highly likely that she was used as a breeding dog and may have given birth multiple times. At the time of rescue, Rian did not appear to be in good health. However, with consistent care and attention from the rescue team, her overall condition has significantly improved, and she is now stable and well cared for. Her age is an estimate, as dogs from illegal breeding facilities rarely come with accurate records. The environment she lived in was extremely poor, and she has significant dental damage. This is a common characteristic seen in dogs rescued from puppy mills, often caused by repetitive stress behaviors such as biting and chewing metal cage bars over long periods of confinement. **Personality & Temperament Rian is a very gentle, calm, and affectionate dog who prefers staying close to her caregiver. She shows little interest in other animals and enjoys quiet companionship with people. She tolerates handling extremely well and allows touch anywhere on her body, making her safe and gentle even around children. Her energy level is low. Indoors, she is content to sit quietly and be petted, with no destructive behaviors. While she does enjoy walks, she does not require high levels of activity. She shows mild separation anxiety, but it is not severe and can be managed with routine and reassurance. **With Other Dogs: Generally neutral and uninterested. **With Cats: Generally neutral and uninterested. **With Children: Not aggressive at all. Very gentle and tolerant. **Potty Training Potty training is still needed. Even when confined with fencing and pee pads, her current success rate is about 50%. Continued guidance and consistency will be important in her new home. **Important Note for Potential Adopters If you are looking for a young, conventionally “perfect,” or purely appearance-focused poodle, Rian may not be the right match. Rian is a survivor of an illegal breeding operation. She is seeking a home with a strong understanding of rescue dogs and the lasting effects of neglectful environments. We hope she will be adopted by a family willing to offer patience, empathy, and unconditional love, and who values her life story as much as her companionship. -------------------------------------- ***Adoption Fee Notice The adoption fee includes international transportation, customs and export documentation, and full medical care, including spay surgery, vaccinations, health certification, and deworming. For this reason, we kindly ask that we do not receive inquiries regarding adoption fee breakdowns. Thank you for your understanding and support***

Story
📌 Important Adoption Information All of our dogs are currently living in private shelters or foster homes in South Korea. Once an adoption is approved, dogs will travel to the United States through legal and approved international transport procedures. Video calls are available prior to adoption, and adopters can communicate with our rescue team in real time through our official organization and app-based messaging channels throughout the process. ----------- Ponyo is a 2-year-old neutered male poodle mix weighing approximately 9.5 lbs. He is a gentle, people-oriented dog who shows very low interest in other animals and has demonstrated calm, neutral behavior when encountering cats and other dogs during walks. Because of his low stimulation response and strong focus on people, he may be a more appropriate candidate for a home where small animals, such as a chinchilla, are present, provided proper separation and supervision are maintained. Ponyo was rescued after being abandoned at a grooming shop, where he stayed temporarily before entering foster care. Despite this experience, he has remained affectionate, trusting, and highly social with both adults and children. He prefers being near people, enjoys companionship, and is comfortable with grooming and handling. He walks well on leash, has minimal barking (occasionally alerting to outside noises), and has no known medical issues or dietary allergies. He currently lives in a foster home and is described in three words as affectionate, loving, and gentle. ----------- 💙 Adoption Fee Information The adoption fee already includes all major expenses, such as: International transportation, Customs and export documentation, Medical care (spay surgery, vaccinations, health certificate, deworming, etc.) For this reason, we kindly ask that you refrain from requesting a breakdown or negotiation of the adoption fee. Your support directly helps us continue rescuing and caring for dogs in need, and we sincerely appreciate your understanding.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.   If you would like to take me home please complete a Pet Adoption Application   Florence is looking for a calm, patient household that understands she is still learning how to be a house dog. Florence is a sweet 13lb female Bichon who came to us when a breeder decided to stop breeding. She spent much of her early life in a kennel, but since arriving at Camp Papillon she has made wonderful progress and continues to learn what being a loved companion is all about.   Florence now enjoys play yards, spending time with her dog friends, and has learned that humans are kind. She is walking on a leash and is discovering how nice treats, gentle affection, and a routine can be. While she can still be a bit spooked by unfamiliar noises, she gains confidence each day with reassurance and patience.   Florence does well keeping her space clean during the day, but nighttime can still be a challenge. Long evenings at the shelter sometimes lead to messes. With a consistent routine and understanding home, she will continue to improve.   Florence is looking for a calm, patient household that understands she is still learning how to be a house dog. With time, love, and guidance, she has so much potential to blossom into a devoted companion.      Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.  January 6, 2026, 1:52 pm
