Story
My name is Lainey and I am a pretty and fun little 12 pound, 3 year old Poodle mix that is looking for a new home.  First you have to know that I came from a breeder who just had too many dogs and they gave up over 30 dogs and I was one of them. What was learned later is that I am visually impaired and while I am not totally blind (I compensate so well that you almost would not know) I do have some significant eyesight loss that is neurological and could have been from trauma or just born that way and no one told us as I was transferred to a rescue.  I get around great but I will never be able to be“fixed” to see better.   Critter Cavalry took me to an eye specialist and they it was neurological and that I will live like this the rest of my life.  I really don’t mind because I play and I have fun in life and I am still very special.  I am a little girl that is still learning how to get my potty breaks on a schedule and doing that well.   I am hanging out with other small dogs and I am very friendly with everyone I meet.   I have a slightly shy side to me and you will just have to wait a little bit and then I will warm up.  You see I have not been out and about in the world and have lived a really secluded lifestyle with the breeder.  I am really hoping to find a home with someone that has a lot of time to spend with me and who will take me everywhere with them and show me how much fun there is in life.  I have a long life ahead of me and I am looking for someone who loves to go places and do things that I can have fun doing with them.  I hope that I can be your Valentine????   Write to Critter Cavalry Rescue quickly…. I am ready to travel from Nashville, TN to somewhere in the northeast where the transport van stops.  They work with people to get them great dogs like me.  Email ccrnewengland@gmail.com PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comMarch 26, 2024, 11:20 pm

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Rusty was surrendered to the shelter by the only family he has ever known. They said they were losing their home. He did not take it very well and was struggling at the shelter. We were asked if we could help him out. We have learned quite a lot about him during his time with us. Initially we thought Rusty would have to be an only dog but he has settled in and we think another dog or two would be ok. Rusty loves his toys and his favorite thing to do is play fetch. Rusty will need a quieter environment and we think he would be best in an adult home. He will definitely need someone will patience to help him to settle in.  Rusty is 6 years old and only 9.6 pounds - he is tiny and looking for a second chance at love  * Please note you must live within 90 minutes of Chester, NJ to be considered    Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.March 27, 2024, 10:10 am

Breed: Miniature Poodle Age: 6 yr Weight: Lbs Good With Dogs: yes Good With Cats: yes Good With Kids: Energy Level: medium Potty-Training: In process Special Needs: no Puppy Mill Survivor: yes Requirements: > Secure fenced yard > Another small dog in the home > Experienced adopter Louisa, our adorable 6 year old poodle mix, has had her necessary shots and surgeries so now we can focus on finding her forever home! Louisa is a typical puppy mill survivor in that she loves being with a pack of dogs (especially running around outside with and sleeping beside) but is still learning to trust humans. Her foster mom says she’s improved a lot since being released though! She’s curious and follows her around the house and likes to sleep nearby. Louisa will probably never be a lapdog but whoever adopts this girl will have the joy of seeing her blossom and shed the traumatic life of the puppy mill. This dog is currently being fostered in eastern PA and cannot travel prior to adoption. Meet and greets available in the surrounding area only. Visitors welcome. PLEASE NOTE: Unless otherwise written, all of our puppy mill survivors will require a secure fenced yard, another small dog in the home, and an experienced owner. Dogs rescued from puppy mills will have started to learn but cannot be expected to be fully potty trained at time of adoption. PLEASE READ ALL OF THE INFORMATION BELOW! We currently adopt in the states of PA*, NJ, NY**, DE, and some areas of MD. We can not accept applications from other states at this time. *Eastern half **Excluding NYC, Bronx, Long Island If you are interested in adopting this dog, please fill out our adoption application which you can find on our website at www.dutchcountryanimalrescue.org/adopt.html We will reply within one week if your application meets the criteria for this dog. Our adoption fees are on our application. All of our rescues are spayed/neutered, up to date on rabies and DHPP, heartworm tested, treated for worms and fleas and most are microchipped. We are not a shelter, we are 100% volunteer public charity. All of our dogs are in foster homes until they are adopted. Since we are not a shelter, we do not receive government funding. We are a public charity that relies solely on funds through our adoption fee, fundraisers, and private donations. Since we are 100% volunteer based, all funds collected go directly towards the rescue and vet costs of our dogs. We take each rescue personally and spend a lot of effort trying to match the right dog to the right family. Thank you for considering one of our rescued dogs.

Story
Meet Bunny. She is a miniature poodle that came to us from a commercial breeder. She is about 7 years old and weighs about 17 lbs. Bunny is on the more scared side, like a typical puppy mill dog. She is making some progress in her foster home. Bunny will do best in a home with another friendly small dog and a fenced in yard.  Bunny will need work on housebreaking. She has now been spayed and had a dental cleaning. Bunny is up to date with vaccines, microchipped and tested negative for heartworm. Her adoption fee us $300.00. If you are interested in adopting Bunny,  please visit our website www.lharinc.org go to Adopt and complete the dog adoption application.  ##1938024##

Story
Tessa is a beautiful 2 year old purebred mini-poodle looking for her forever family. Tessa weighs 19 lbs. Tessa was recently relinquished from a local commercial breeding facility. She is fully vaccinated and scheduled to be spayed on 3/28. This young girl is gonna be perfect for any family.  She loves children and other dogs. She hasn't had a single accident during her entire time here. She is quiet in a crate, but has had a lot of freedom here because her behavior is so awesome. Tessa is not comfortable on a leash, but is wonderful in my fenced yard. Tessa is NOT a barker. One thing I have noticed is that if I put a towel or blanket in her crate, she WILL chew on it, so I thought it safer to stop giving her chewable cloth. She loves dog beds, though. And yak chews. Tessa is so, so friendly and cheerful. If you feel that you and your family can give her all the love and attention she deserves. Tessa does like children and does very well with other dogs. Her adoption fee is $350.00. If you are interested in adopting Tessa, please visit our website www.lharinc.org go to Adopt and complete the dog adoption application.  ##1985457##

Story
Bennett! Bennett is an approx 2 yr old some sort of doodle who came to us as a breeding farm release, for unknown reasons. He is around 39 lbs. Although Bennett is from a mill type of situation and as such will need to play some catch up on socialization and training and some dog skills like walking on a leash, he is very sweet and is starting to show us some of his silly side. He was good and patient for his grooming and has started to play bow some of his favorite people. He is good in his crate and getting used to going outside for potty breaks. He is good with other dogs and overall just a really sweet boy who we know will absolutely blossom with a little patience and guidance from a kind adoptive home. Niall has had his initial vet visit and is up to date on vaccinations, and is microchipped. His adoption fee includes his neuter. He is 4dx (including heartworm and lyme) tested negative and is up to date on preventatives. Interested? Go to www.dogtownrescue.org to complete an online adoption application for Bennett.
