Story
Meet Chopper – A Little Dog Looking for a Lifetime of Love Chopper is a 2½-year-old white " Pekapoo " (Pekingese/Poodle mix) with a heart full of love and a story that has had more twists than any dog should experience in such a short life. The only family Chopper had ever known made the difficult decision to give him away, posting him on Facebook because they said they no longer had time for him. He was handed off to a stranger in a parking lot, leaving behind the only home he had ever known. After the heartbreak of losing his family, Chopper slowly adjusted to life with his new family and found happiness again. He especially bonded with the family's 6-year-old child, who became his very best friend. Then life threw Chopper another curveball. His mom lost her job and received an eviction notice. Facing the loss of her home, she made the heartbreaking decision to find Chopper a safe place to land. This time, she reached out to rescue for help, wanting the best for him. Once again, Chopper lost everything familiar to him for the second time in his young life. Today, Chopper is thriving in a loving foster home. Despite the setbacks he has faced, he remains friendly, playful, smart, and incredibly resilient. He loves carrying around stuffed toys, playing with other dogs, and then curling up on the couch for a Grey's Anatomy marathon. He walks nicely on a leash, is house-trained and crate-trained, enjoys car rides (especially when they include a pup cup), and is truly an all-around wonderful companion. Chopper is looking for more than just another home—he's looking for his forever family. He deserves a family that will cherish him as a lifelong member and never let him wonder where he belongs again. If your family is missing a friendly little white furball with a big personality and an even bigger heart, Chopper may be the perfect match. Chopper is: Neutered Up to date on vaccinations Heartworm negative Microchipped House-trained Crate-trained Dog-friendly If you'd like to meet this little charmer, please complete an application at Legacy Humane Society, and his foster mom will be in touch. Chopper's next home should be his last—and his best. ❤️  We do not have a facility to house the dogs in our program. They are all kept in foster homes until they are adopted. Therefore, if you are interested in adopting from LHS, please complete an online application at http://legacyhumanesociety.org/adoptfoster/adoption-application/ and we will contact you asap about the status of your application. Story
Sweet adorable, full of scruffy cuteness Arlo. This fellow comes from a hoarding situation and is adjusting well, but will need someone to help him continue to gain confidence and learn the routine. He loves his safe place and appreciates a routine. Another dog to help him would be good. He is sweet and quiet, good about going outside. Loves baths. All Dallas Dog adoptable pets are spayed or neutered, microchipped, and up to date on vaccines upon finalizing adoption. Puppies adopted under the age of five months require a spay/neuter contract, and all dogs are required to be spayed by six months unless otherwise medically noted. Our dogs are currently on heartworm preventative. Puppies receive 3 to 4 rounds of vaccinations depending on their age, and adults receive two rounds unless they've been with us longer than a year, in which case they receive the booster update. You can complete an application or view all the adoptable pets on our website at www.dallasdog.org/adopt. Upon receiving your application, please allow us 2-3 business days to review and process.

Story
Hi, This is Thay. He was rescued from a hoarding situation. Was adopted and returned at no fault of his own. This is his chance to find his real furever home. He'd do best in a home with another dog that loves to play. Older kids/no kids. He's actually a low maintenance and easy going dog. He doesn't get into stuff nor chew things. He's around 30ish lbs. Crate/potty trained. Pretty good on leash. He's such a sweetie 💕 Thay came from a difficult hoarding situation, but he’s made incredible progress and has adapted beautifully to family life. He gets along great with our pets and is a total love bug once he feels comfortable. While he can be cautious around new people and unfamiliar animals, his gentle and affectionate personality really shines through. He’s fully potty trained and crate trained, and one of his cutest traits is his happy little hops when he gets excited. He would do best in a home with older children or no kids, where he can continue to build confidence and soak up all the love he deserves. Story
After knowing Chiquita her whole life (11 years), we adopted her from my sister-in-law after seeing how bothered she was by having my nieces around her. She was skin and bones when my sister-in-law decided she'd have to put her in a shelter. I thought, since our son is a bit older than my nieces, maybe we could keep her. We've had her for 2 years now, and she is healthy. However, small kids still bother her. She has snapped at my son's legs while he is running through the house on occasion but recently snapped at him in the face when he attempted to pick her up. Aside from this issue, she is very sweet and affectionate, but I cannot ensure my son and nieces won't touch her in a way that makes her uncomfortable. She deserves a home with no small children.

Story
y name is Margaret and I am a 4-year old apricot mini Poodle. I weigh 11 pounds. I was surrendered by a breeder. I am shy, friendly to other dogs but very timid with people. I need a home with another dog to live with and no children. I am not used to them. I am spayed, current on shots, heartworm negative, microchipped and I had my teeth cleaned too. I am working on potty training. I am not leash trained yet.
