Story
Meet little Buddy! He is a small Schnauzer mix. After his loving owner passed away, Buddy was thrown into the backyard by relatives who did not care for him properly. Fortunately, he survived the hot Arkansas summer & was relinquished to rescue.  Buddy thoroughly enjoys toys, lounging at home, & taking car rides. He loves playing outside & is very inquisitive about his surroundings. A fenced-in yard is recommended to keep him safe. In his foster home, all dogs are fed seperately. However, Buddy does a great job waiting for treats when given alongside the other dogs. While Buddy does well with other small dogs, he is not a fan of cats. A feline-free home is best for this little guy. Although he enjoys playing with toys, he does resource guard at times & will nip in order to keep them, therefore a home without young children or grandchildren is needed. Little Buddy gets along well with both men and women & would do great with adults. Buddy loves to be held like a baby & licks often to show his affection. He has had several teeth removed, but has no issues eating. Buddy is crate-trained, does well with a harness, & is using the doggy door as well as potty pads in his foster home. He does have occasional accidents. His foster mom is available to answer any questions.  Little Buddy is fully vetted, neutered, microchipped, & heartworm negative. His adoption fee for New England adopters is $500, which includes transport to New England & a health certificate from his veterinarian. His local adoption fee is $175 (no transportation or health certificate). ##2580863##

Story
This adorable duo were found in a very remote area in Arkansas. Unbelievably shy, they have gradually started coming out of their shell, and their personalities are beginning to blossom. Both are quick to smile and love the attention they are getting.  They are very affectionate and love belly rubs, squeaky toys, and chasing the other pups around the yard. Although they can be active, they also love to lay on the couch and watch television. They are not hyperactive at all. Both boys are crate trained and potty trained. They are young, so they still want to get into mischief such as chewing up socks. So before submitting an application, be aware that they are young and will need more training. Neither one has a dominant personality, they're both very low-key and get along great with other dogs and together. Both do very well while taking a bath. Benji is 2 pounds lighter than his brother Andy. They both weigh under 30 pounds and probably will not grow to be much larger. As much as we would love to see them go together as a bonnet pair, we realize that may not be possible. So we are willing to adopt them out separately. If someone would like to adopt them as a bonded pair, we will be happy to take off $150 off of the adoption fee. Currently they're being fostered on a farm in Arkansas. Transport is available to New England. Their adoption fee is $450 each, which includes the cost of transport. Andy and Benji are both heartworm negative, up-to-date on all core vaccinations, and microchipped. Both are afraid of kids and cats.  ##2559637##

Story
Meet Milo Too 🐾Milo Too is a 6-year-old, 20-pound Schnauzer/Shih Tzu mix who is adjusting to life in foster care after a major life change. After three weeks, he's beginning to show his sweet personality and settle into a routine.Milo has a moderate energy level and enjoys exploring a fenced yard and playing with squeaky toys. He is house-trained and does well in an exercise pen when unsupervised, as he is not a fan of crates.Milo lived with a retired couple and had limited exposure to children. He currently lives with small dogs but prefers human attention and may do best as an only dog. He also has a typical Schnauzer prey drive, so a cat-free home is recommended.Milo can be reactive to new people and activity, often barking at delivery people and becoming anxious on walks. He will need a patient adopter committed to helping him build confidence and improve leash manners through training.Ideal home: A quiet, suburban or rural home with a fenced yard and a calm, consistent routine.Milo is a sensitive, loyal companion who needs time, patience, and love to shine truly. 💛If you are interested in finding out more about Milo Too, please fill out an adoption application by copying and pasting the following link into your browser:https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/BRO/DogMilo Too is being fostered in Central MassThe adoption fee is $500Like Broken Tail Rescue on Facebook!.Follow Broken Tail Rescue on Instagram!Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable, so for most of the dogs, we are only guessing at the predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each dog as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not by breed label. We expect that all adopted dogs will enroll in a formal dog training class with their new owners. Obedience and training classes are an excellent way to learn more about your newly adopted dog, gain handling and training experience, and improve your relationship with your pet.

Story
I am in foster care in Stafford CT. Ask for an appointment to meet me there. 🌴 Hi, I’m Mollie — your favorite 18‑lb former island feral who now knows how to sit, snuggle, and steal your shoes. 🌴 Listen… I didn’t choose the street‑dog life in St. Croix, but I absolutely crushed it. I was out there surviving, minding my business, being suspicious of literally everything — and then this very determined couple started showing up with snacks. For WEEKS. I made them work for it. They even extended their vacation just to win me over. What can I say? I inspire devotion. Once I finally said, “Fine, you may adore me,” they scooped me up, got me vetted, and flew me all the way to Connecticut like the tiny VIP I am. Then they called PawSafe to help me find my forever people… but plot twist: I tested positive for heartworm. Did that stop me? No. Did it stop them? Also no. They fostered me through treatment, taught me crate training, housebreaking, and basic manners. I’m basically a tiny scholar now. Now I’m spayed, healthy, and officially ready to meet my forever humans. And let me tell you — I am not the scared little island ghost I used to be. I’m a fun, active, protective, slightly spicy girl who is learning how to be a real puppy every single day. I do fresh puppy things like stealing shoes, nibbling fingers, and acting like your personal shadow. But I’m learning the rules, I promise. Mostly. I’m only about 18 lbs and will maybe hit about 23 lbs. My DNA test says I’m part pit, mini schnauzer, chow, pekingese, bulldog, shepherd, and “supermutt.” Basically, I’m a limited‑edition collectible. I’ll thrive with someone patient, loving, and ready to help me adjust to yet another new home. I warm up — I just need a minute. But once I decide you’re mine? Oh, you’re MINE. Forever. If you want a loyal, quirky, brave little survivor who’s blossoming into the best version of herself… I’m your girl. Love, Mollie — Former Island Feral, Current Connecticut Princess 🐾💁‍♀️

Story
Welcome Boscoe to CCPAL Rescue. Boscoe is a 2-year-old Cairn Terrier mix with maybe Schnauzer. He is a lower energy and a little shy. His teeth are white and clean as his adult teeth haven’t been in too long. He is good on a leash and bigger than the other two at 15 pounds. He has nice long legs so he would be a great walking companion. He is very content being beside someone and doesn’t have to be in your lap. He came from a homeless person that had about 6 dogs. The homeless person had rescued all as strays. A good Samaritan stepped up to help and called CCPAL Rescue. CCPAL took in all the homeless person’s dogs except one she wanted to keep. We will be vaccinating them and spaying them to get them ready for their forever home. This boy is not a shedding dog and is very very affectionate. He would probably look Schnauzer if he had the cut. His coat is a little course and not as soft as the schnauzer coat. He would be fine around kids but I think her best home would be with a home that someone wants a lap dog and a quieter home. He would be a great one or two person dog. He will be great company and will not require too much exercise. A small condo type yard would work for him. He is good in a crate and with other dogs. He is more vocal than his sister Merry. He is currently in Texas and can be adopted locally or we can work with one of the wonderful transporters to get him to Washington, Portland (Oregon), Minnesota, Vermont or all along the East Coast. His adoption fee is 400 and transportation fee is $200. Rhode Island and Massachusetts are not states we adopt to because of the regulations imposed by these states Contact Marlene at 210-867-1769 or email to ccpalinquiries@gmail.com if you have questions.
