Story
AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION! Daisy is a miniature schnauzer between 3-5 years old and weighing about 12 lb. Sadly, her person passed away and now she is in search of a new loving home where she can be adored and cherished ei. Daisy is cautious and can be skittish in new situations but warms up with time. Daisy is housebroken, relaxes in a dog bed throughout the day, and sleeps in a crate at night. She came up to us with her sister, who has been adopted. They loved to run and play in their foster’s fenced yard and would very much enjoy one in their forever home. Daisy is so sweet and will make a great companion. She is looking for a quiet home, without young children and she's been stressed around dogs other than her sister who was adopted so looking to be an only dog.  If you are interested in adopting Daisy ,email almosthome4dogs@yahoo.com to request an application.  (Local adoptions preferred — Philadelphia and tri-state area [South Jersey and northern Delaware] only.) PLEASE READ BEFORE CONTACTING US! We are NOT a shelter: All of our dogs live in private homes with foster families. Come and meet the Almost Home dogs and their fosters at our Meet & Greet events, where you can learn more about our wonderful dogs from the people who live with them, find out which dogs are on their way and when they’ll arrive, and fill out an application to adopt or foster. We cannot adopt to homes where electric-shock fencing systems or training collars are used. For more information on the dangers of electric-shock collars, please visit banshockcollars.ca/studies.php . We do not have an online adoption application; to request an application, e-mail us at AlmostHome4Dogs@yahoo.com. To speed e-mail processing time, be sure to note the name of the dog you are inquiring about in the Subject line. For Meet & Greet times and locations, visit our home page, where you also will find information on our adoption process and fees. FOSTER FAMILIES ARE LIFESAVERS!! Can you open your heart and home for a few weeks to homeless shelter dog? Remember, by fostering a dog, you save TWO lives — that of your foster dog, and that of the dog who takes his place in the shelter! Come to a Meet & Greet and find out if fostering is for you — there's no reward quite like the feeling that you've saved a life ... or two!Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.April 27, 2024, 7:30 am

Story
Caroline was born 9/19/23 thought she could possibly get up to 20lbs Schnauzer mix. She’s dog, cat and kid friendly. She’ll need work on house and crate training. She spends her time day free roaming in bedroom and the house when foster is not home. She is used to her fosters secure fenced in yard and needs leash training. She’s a typical happy, playful puppy who has typical terrier energy. She is a chewer as many puppies are so her people will need to watch what you leave laying around. Caroline MUST have a home, where someone is home often, so not to be left for long periods of time, a secure fenced in yard and/or be taken for long walks every day, along with who are on board to show leadership, consistency, structure and to continue working on training. If your home DOES NOT fit this please DO NOT put an application in. We will not call anyone not a fit. Also, we will be concentrating on local to foster applications 1st since home checks and meets with all humans and animals in home is needed at meet. Our fosters are all volunteers so aren’t always able to travel too far. Caroline is vaccinated. Her spay with microchip will be due around 3/19/24. Currently in Phila, PA. If your home fits the bio and MUST haves and you’re interested in applying to adopt please do so at www.tprescue.org

Story
Anna! Anna is an approx 6 year old female miniature schnauzer who recently found herself in need of a new home when her beloved owner entered hospice care. Anna has lived with other small dogs and a cat and is reportedly friendly with everyone. She is housebroken and crate trained, although she likely may have a few accidents as she adjusts to a new routine and schedule. She is good on a leash and just an overall sweet, low key dog. Anna is understandably heartbroken and confused over the recent upheavel in her life and she is hoping for a patient person who can help her heal her heartbreak and remind her of all the fun things that exist in this world. Anna's adoption fee includes all vaccinations to date, microchipping and she is spayed. She is heartworm tested (negative) and up to date on preventatives. The online adoption application for Anna is available at https://www.dogtownrescue.org/online-adoption-application Dog Town Rescue 1553 Bethlehem Pike Hatfield PA 19440 PA Kennel license #12275

Story
Meet Jonathan Pearl! This 7 month old, miniature schnauzer (born July 6th) is 13lbs of adorable lovebug! He is a lovely cream color that seems to be getting lighter by the day and has the dreamiest eyes, the shade of that really pricey almond colored suede! This guy LOVES to be with his humans and sticks close by inside, happy to chomp on a toy and wait to capture your attention. He is doing well with walkng on the leash except for one thing... he wants to talk to everyone. Like, EVERYone (read: humans, dogs, birds, leaves blowing by... you get the gist). It doesn't always earn him other dog friends on walks, but when it does he is the happiest puppy ever! And while he can be a bit loud, it is 92% excitement, 7% awkward and 1% fear (but ZERO aggression). He is also working on all the other important puppy skills like recall and sit and wait and leave it. He is super smart and we hope he will be ready to tackle taxes next. (If treats are involved, we really think he will do a better job than we will!) He is allllmmmooost house trained and very good at alerting you when he needs a trip outside but he also understands the wee wee pad assignment! #rockstar. He has a very typical schnauzer bark ("it's a bit pitchy, dawg" as OG American Idol judge, Randy Jackson might say) and some separation anxiety when left solo. He likes his crate but he has big, loud thoughts with alone time and needs to make them heard!! We have no doubt that he will improve with time but he will definitely require a little patience on this front. Honestly though, when he rests his sweet little self on you and snuggles in to Netflix and chill, he makes everything worth it. Adopt this dreamboat today! Interested in becoming a forever home for Jonathan? Fill out our online adoption application: http://www.friendswithfourpaws.org/adoption-form.html This is the first step in our process, and we don't go any further without an application. Find more adoptable pets, news and information on Instagram @friendswithfourpaws or our Facebook page Friends with Four Paws. We put a lot of time and energy into processing our adoptions to find our babies the best fit home for them and you. Please do not submit an application if you are not serious about adopting Jonathan. We are so excited to work with you to find you a new forever friend, and Jonathan the perfect forever home, and appreciate you working with us. For immediate consideration, please attach your application to the initial inquiry to help us expedite the process. Our adoption fee is $750. This includes their spay/neuter surgery, full (age appropriate) vaccinations, microchip insertion and registration, deworming, heartworm testing and prevention, flea and tick prevention and travel expenses. All of our dogs are rescued from local shelters and the general public. Each dog is then placed in a foster home where he/she is kept for quarantine, to ensure if the dog gets sick it can receive proper treatment. We have foster homes in the NJ/NY area waiting to receive their fosters. Once an animal has received an application or there's an adopter interested, we make arrangements for transport. If a dog is already in foster care in NYC/NJ, an adopter will be put in touch with the foster home AFTER an application is being processed. Thank you in advance for your patience with our process and for making adoption YOUR option!

Story
Lana is a 3-year-old, 13-pound female schnauzer mix from Tijuana! Lana is a gentle, snuggly, playful pup. She has adjusted very well during her time in the city. Lana enjoys cuddling up with her toys, sitting on her foster parents lap, and going on short walks around the neighborhood. She is working on learning "sit" and other commands. During her time with her foster family, she has been working on her housetraining. She has not been using her pee pads, but in only a couple of days she has made great progress with outdoor potty training. She is a very quick learner and has easily adapted to her new environment.  Lana was found on the side of the road by our partner after being hit by a car. She has undergone two surgeries to heal her leg and walks with a limp (looks like a cute little hop), which may or may not go away with time. Despite this, Lana is very easy to walk on a leash. She has attached quickly to her foster family and always stays by their side on walks. Her tail is always wagging, she is eager and excited to go on her walks. Her injury does not seem to have any impact on her stamina or enjoyment during walks.  Because of her injury, her forever family will need to continue working with Lana to reinforce and advance the progress she's been making. At first she was very protective of her injured leg and had a fear of being picked up, but after only a day or two of cautious interaction she has become trusting of her foster family and allows them to pick her up. She needs someone willing to be patient and gentle with her as she still has some phantom pain and nervousness around strangers. However, once you gain her trust, she loves to be held and even rolls over for belly rubs.  Lana has done well when left alone during the day, she has mild separation anxiety and will whine for a bit after being left alone, but she quickly settles down and spends most of her alone time sleeping on her bed. She loves to be cozy with her foster family and can often be found with sleeping with her arms wrapped around her favorite toy.  Lana is looking for a medium active family. She appreciates downtime, but also loves to walk and play fetch. She is very playful and loves to chase after her toys, but due to her limp she may not be able to go for very long walks or hikes. She would do great with or without another dog in the home. She gets along fine with her canine foster brother, but prefers to play with her human family. Lana has not been exposed to children, but she is very docile so we believe she would do fine in a home with children.  Vaccinated for rabies, DHPP, and bordetella. Neutered, heartworm negative, and microchipped. Current on flea, tick, and heartworm prevention. To apply for Lana, visit our website (www.waggytailrescue.org) for an adoption application. It is important to fill out an application as soon as possible for consideration, and we require a complete application for you to meet an animal. We are currently unable to respond to general email inquiries as an all-volunteer run rescue. If the dog is on our website, they are still available. Waggytail Rescue CANNOT guarantee the exact age of any adoptable dog, or final size of any of our adoptable puppies. We rely on the information provided to us by veterinarians, shelters, owner surrenders and other circumstances bringing the dog into our rescue. Adoptions: adopt@waggytailrescue.org ##2033241##

Story
** Current Location: South Korea ** With Cats She is currently living with cats in a temporary foster home. She is not aggressive with cats, but she is very interested in them, so if you have a cat that likes dogs, she would be fine. With Dogs She is currently living with the dogs in her foster home without any issues. They play well with each other, are socialized, and warm up quickly to new dogs they meet. With Adults/Kids She is very fond of people and loves to be petted. She warms up quickly to people she meets for the first time. Shedding Moderate. There is shedding in certain periods. Her fur is best brushed daily with a silicone brush. Walking Manner She loves to go for walks, both familiar and new, and prefers to take fast, wide, territorial walks (rather than slow, sniffing the trails). He also loves to run in the park, but will sometimes try to run outside if there is no fence. she is fast and has a lot of energy, so she loves to run around in large parks and meet people and dogs. she also loves to go for walks in the mountains, but she has a hunting instinct and is interested in small snakes, rodents, and birds. Housetrained She goes potty on pee pads and highly prefers to go outside. She can chew on wood and plastic furniture and will grab small items that fall on the floor and play with them. She's very playful and will run around with you if you have a like-minded friend in the house. Separation Anxiety She's always been around other dogs, so we can't confirm, but we think she'll be fine on her own. Bark or Howl She barks briefly when she hears strangers outside. There is no howl Carsickness She had drooling at first, but now she rides well. Personality She's sociable and energetic. She adapts to new places right away and loves to reach out to new people and friends she meets. She knows how to say hello to familiar people and friends. She loves to play with other dogs and loves to play with people. She picks up on new training quickly, so we think she would make a great dog for a family with a good understanding and training knowledge of dogs. She's a bit of a sneaky prankster right now, so she can get into trouble, but she's affectionate, gentle, and full of energy.
