Meet Gizmo! 🐾
Gizmo (originally named Peewee) came into our care in early September 2026 after his owners surrendered him to us, saying he was mean and aggressive and that they would euthanize him if we didn’t take him. We couldn’t say no to this little guy, so we immediately brought him into our care and started getting to know him.
And you know what we discovered?
Gizmo is nothing like they described. ❤️
We honestly believe Gizmo may simply have been surrendered because he is no longer a tiny, brand-new puppy. Sadly, we see this far too often. Once puppies grow out of the “cute and tiny” stage, some families decide they no longer want the responsibility that comes with raising a young dog.
But Gizmo? He is still very much a puppy, and he is an absolute sweetheart.
Born March 5, 2026, Gizmo is approximately 11 lbs and we believe he is a Jack Russell Terrier/Schnauzer mix. He has adorable wirey hair and does not appear to shed.
Most importantly, Gizmo is a spunky, fun-loving little guy who absolutely LOVES his people.
He wants to be your best friend, your sidekick and your shadow. If he could permanently attach himself to his favourite human, he absolutely would! 😂❤️ He becomes attached very quickly and is happiest when he is right beside you getting attention, cuddles and plenty of love.
Gizmo would thrive in a home where someone genuinely wants a little companion who wants to be involved in everything.

• Wirey coat and does not appear to shed
• Loves people and becomes very attached to his humans
• Wants to be your constant companion and shadow
• Loves cuddles, pets and attention
• Loves sleeping in his foster's bed and will happily dig around before curling up beside you
• Gets along wonderfully with cats
• Actually plays with his foster's cat! Watching them run around the house together is absolutely adorable. 🥹
• Would do well with or without other dogs
• Has met younger children and did well with them
• Still has plenty of puppy energy and will need regular exercise and playtime
• Barks when scared or startled
• Still needs work on his house training but understands how to use pee pads
• Loves toys and having fun
While Gizmo would happily spend all day in your lap, he is still a young puppy with plenty of energy. His new family should be prepared for the usual puppy needs — playtime, exercise, training, patience and consistency.
What Gizmo really wants is simple:
A person or family who will love him, include him, cuddle him, play with him and let him be their little shadow. ❤️
He has already shown us that the “mean and aggressive” puppy his previous owners described simply isn't the Gizmo we know.
He is a goofy, affectionate, playful little guy who is looking for someone who will see his value and love him for the wonderful dog he is becoming.
If you're looking for a tiny best friend who wants nothing more than to be by your side, Gizmo may be your guy. 🐾❤️
Gizmo will be neutered, heart worm negative, current on age-appropriate vaccinations, current on flea/tick and heart worm prevention, microchipped, current on de-wormer and will receive a clean bill of health from a veterinarian prior to adoption.

We have happily adopted hundreds of animals this way (long distance), and we do our best to make sure the animal you are applying for is the best fit for your home. With an approved application, we do put you in touch with the Texas foster who has the doggy for you to make sure they are the perfect fit.
