Story
** Current Location: in a foster home in South Korea ** • Personality: She's sociable and energetic. She adapts to new places right away and loves to reach out to new people and friends she meets. She knows how to say hello to familiar people and friends. She loves to play with other dogs and loves to play with people. She picks up on new training quickly, so we think she would make a great dog for a family with a good understanding and training knowledge of dogs. She's a bit of a sneaky prankster right now, so she can get into trouble, but she's affectionate, gentle, and full of energy. • Affinity with -Cats:She is currently living with cats in a temporary foster home. She is not aggressive with cats, but she is very interested in them, so if you have a cat that likes dogs, she would be fine. -Dogs: She is currently living with the dogs in her foster home without any issues. They play well with each other, are socialized, and warm up quickly to new dogs they meet. -Adults/Kids: She is very fond of people and loves to be petted. She warms up quickly to people she meets for the first time. • Shedding: Moderate. There is shedding in certain periods. Her fur is best brushed daily with a silicone brush. • Walking Manner: She loves to go for walks, both familiar and new, and prefers to take fast, wide, territorial walks (rather than slow, sniffing the trails). He also loves to run in the park, but will sometimes try to run outside if there is no fence. she is fast and has a lot of energy, so she loves to run around in large parks and meet people and dogs. she also loves to go for walks in the mountains, but she has a hunting instinct and is interested in small snakes, rodents, and birds. • Housetrained: She goes potty on pee pads and highly prefers to go outside. She can chew on wood and plastic furniture and will grab small items that fall on the floor and play with them. She's very playful and will run around with you if you have a like-minded friend in the house. • Separation Anxiety: She's always been around other dogs, so we can't confirm, but we think she'll be fine on her own. • Bark or Howl: She barks briefly when she hears strangers outside. There is no howl • Carsickness: She had drooling at first, but now she rides well.

Story
Clyde is a 5 year-old, 10 pound male terrier mix from Mexico! Clyde is a patient, affectionate, and handsome pup. He has adjusted very well during his time in the city. Clyde enjoys napping on his pouf, snack time, and walks around the neighborhood.  Clyde is a fast learner and is working on obedience training. During his time with his foster family, he seems to be house trained. When let out at least 3 times a day he has not had any accidents in the house. Clyde is great on a leash and waits patiently to get dressed up in his harness and any additional weather gear.  His forever family will need to continue working with Clyde to reinforce and advance the progress he has been making. Clyde has done well when left alone during the day. He has not shown signs of separation anxiety, although he gets very giddy and excited to greet his foster family when they arrive home. He loves to be cozy with his foster family and can often be found with his favorite duck squeaky toy. Clyde is looking for a medium active family. He mostly sleeps during the day but loves taking his walks and playing inside with his foster family.  He would do great as a solo dog or with another dog at home. He gets along great with his foster family’s dog, and loves sniffing other dogs when he passes them on the sidewalk. Clyde has not spent extended time with children, but he has shown no signs of aggression and has greeted children while out on walks so he should do fine in a home with kids.  Vaccinated for Rabies, DHPP, and Bordetella. Neutered and microchipped. Tested for vector-borne illnesses. Current on flea, tick, and heartworm prevention.  To apply to adopt Clyde, visit our website (www.waggytailrescue.org) for an application. It is important to fill out an application as soon as possible for consideration, and we require a complete application for you to meet an animal. We are currently unable to respond to general email inquiries as an all-volunteer run rescue. If the dog is on our website, they are still available. Waggytail Rescue CANNOT guarantee the exact age of any adoptable dog, or final size of any of our adoptable puppies. We rely on the information provided to us by veterinarians, shelters, owner surrenders and other circumstances bringing the dog into our rescue. Questions: adopt@waggytailrescue.org ##2670671##

Story
Mia is a 5-year-old, 20-pound female schnauzer mix who came to us from Mexico. She’s a serene, independent, and very cuddly little pup with a gentle spirit. Mia is still adjusting to life in the city and takes things at her own pace. She enjoys chewing on her bones, curling up next to you for a cozy nap, and quietly exploring her surroundings. During her time with her foster family, Mia appears to be housetrained. Mia is still building confidence on leash. She moves slowly and stays very aware of her surroundings, and she can be fearful of unfamiliar dogs on the street. When she feels unsure, she is comfortable being picked up so you can continue on your walk. Her forever family will need to continue reinforcing the great progress she is already making and help her keep building confidence. Mia has done very well staying home while her fosters are at work. She is a perfect little angel who usually spends that time napping. When her foster family is home, she loves being cozy with them and is often found snuggled up with her favorite blanket. Mia is looking for a calm, low-key home where she will have the time and space to truly blossom. She could do well as the only dog or with another calm, trustworthy dog. She would thrive with people who respect her independence while still giving her plenty of gentle affection and pets Vaccinated for Rabies, DHPP, and Bordetella. Neutered and microchipped. Tested for vector-borne illnesses. Current on flea, tick, and heart worm prevention.  To apply to adopt Mia, visit our website (www.waggytailrescue.org) for an application. Story
Loreen - 5 years, 7lbs, Maltese/Shnazuer Mix, Spayed  Want to adopt? Submit an adoption application at socialteesnyc.org. Our Team Says: Loreen needs a home out of the city. She is NOT a city girl. Burbs and beyond are ideal for her. She would also do great with another dog in the home :)  Our Foster Parent Says: "Loreen is a very sweet girl who still has her puppy moments. She has zoomies, especially when you come home after work of if you were just gone for 2 minutes. She recently discovered her love of toys and gathers each one of them into her bed. Unfortunately she hasn’t quite figured out toy vs non-toy yet but she’s easily redirected. Her bed is her safe space, especially when she’s has her anxious moments. When Loreen initially came to NYC from Tennessee she was very scared being in a city setting and shook for an entire week. She was then relocated to Long Island with me and the quiet environment has really let her true self show. She has slowly warmed up to being outside and now runs around happily in my yard and is learning to enjoy walks. Having another confident dog is definitely a plus! She often looks to my dog Kiba when she gets nervous and even follows him around sometimes. At home she is a cuddle bug and loves to be near you. She politely asks for airlifts onto the bed but occasionally gives a sassy bark or two to get your attention. She does well with baths and brushing, she’s also happy to be dressed! She’s very good with both of my cats and my dog, she’s very neutral around everyone and does not show any signs of guarding issues. She did well around a 3 year old boy and generally does well with everyone, she is occasionally anxious with new people. Overall she is a go with the flow type of girl and follows her people around." Level of dog ownership experience needed:INTERMEDIATE: This dog will need significant structure and plenty of daily exercise, training, and mental stimulation – 90 consecutive minutes of movement in the morning plus potty break walks and brain games throughout the day. The adopter must have relevant primary care experience with a similar breed, temperament, and/or energy level. (Primary care experience includes ownership, fostering, or dog sitting as an adult, not a dog you grew up with.) Medical statusHealthy as far as we know. Up to date on their DHPP, Bordetella, and Rabies vaccines; heartworm negative; spayed/neutered; microchipped; treated with dewormer upon intake How this dog ended up with Social Tees:Most of our dogs come via partner groups who help us save them from shelters where they are at risk of euthanasia in Tennessee, Puerto Rico or Southern California. There are very few spay/neuter resources there and many more animals in those areas than there are people to adopt them. Rescue groups like ours bring them to the northeast where the desire for pets like these allows us to save their lives.  PLEASE NOTE: We cannot guarantee any breed mix, exact age, or full grown size (if the dog is under a year old). We do our best with very educated guesses though!  This animal is not at the Social Tees office, all are in foster homes. Story
Meet Millie! Same old story different dogs… people buy a cute fluffy non-shedding puppy, never get them groomed or socialized, and surrender them to the pound when they are a matted inconvenience 🤷‍♀️ 🤦‍♀️ Millie is under a year old and a nervous girl but opens up into a happy playful puppy once she feels safe. She seems to be some kind of schnoodle or maybe havapoo? (Well, we groom everything to look like a schnauzer, but that definitely looks like a schnauzer nose to us!) About 16lbs full grown and is now spayed and updated on shots. Shaving her was a dramatic occurrence and she will need sleepy time meds and getting her more used to being brushed and handled now that she’s more comfortable and not clumped in mats head to toe. She’s ok with other dogs but also gets nervous with them in her space too much and prefers to dine alone… a bit socially awkward and still learning how to play and be a normal puppy. Millie is looking for an adult home that will continue to socialize her in a positive way to new people, places, and things and be committed to her for life, for better or worse. Email njwoof@cs.com to meet Millie in Northern NJ Since COVID-19, we are no longer holding our Sunday adoption events until further notice, but we are scheduling meet and greet appointments with a specific dog or dogs at our meeting spots in Northern NJ. To streamline adoptions, all communication before, during, and after the adoption process is done through email only: we have limited volunteers able to return phone calls. Submit an application from our website www.secondchance.petfinder.com to speed up the adoption process and email any questions to us at njwoof@cs.com. Please check your email regularly for next steps. All our dogs reside in foster care in Northern NJ until adoption and we do not have a central shelter location. We are a small all-volunteer organization focused on rescuing local dogs from area shelters, as well as accepting some surrenders and puppy mill rescues.
