Story
Meet Jake Jake is pretty perfect! He's a handsome young mountain cur / retriever mix. Jake LOVES people. He is happiest when he can be with them. His eyes shine and he smiles. His body gets all wiggly in anticipation of pets or a game of fetch. This little guy is incredibly sweet and affectionate. Jake has a beautiful soft rust colored coat. He’s a medium size dog, currently weighing 50 pounds. He walks well on a leash. He can get spooked though and needs a mindful and strong (ish) person who can hold the leash if he gets frightened. He loves playing in the yards and a containment fence is a must. He loves retrieving a tennis ball and would play all day if he could. He is energetic and is eager to be out and about hiking, walking, running or riding in a car. He has a calm and mindful demeanor. He is a super smart. He knows some basic commands. Jake is house-trained and will go to the door when he needs to go out. Jake is looking for his special person or family to bond with. This young handsome doggo is amazing and deserves a second chance at a loving life. Jake will thrive in a home environment. The quiet and consistency of a real home will do wonders for him. Jake was non-reactive to a neighbor's dog when in foster. A meet and greet will be a must if there are other dogs int he home. He likes cats! If interested in Jake, please submit a dog application online at www.charlessmithgallhumanesociety.org Please email us at smithgallhumanesociety@windstream.net to let us know if you submitted an application.. All adopters must complete an approval process which involves a reference check with current/recent vet and a brief home visit if located in the immediate area. We do permit out of state adoptions. Adopters MUST come to the shelter to transport their new family member home. We do not ship nor do we transport them to their new homes. Adoption policies and application procedures are detailed at the shelter website: http://charlessmithgallhumanesociety.org/ under tab All Adoptable Animals. Charles Smithgall Humane Society (CSHS) is a No kill shelter. Animals in our care remain safe with us until adopted. Resident animals are either owner relinquished rescued from area Animal Controls or high kill shelters. The facility usually is operating at capacity with a list of animals waiting for space to open.

Story
HURRY WHILE SUPPLIES LAST. !!! LOOK AT ME. LOOK AT ME. I’m the cutest little fluff ball you ever did see. Hello there, my name is Elvis ! Not only am I beautiful, but I'm extremely sweet. I’m just a puppy that is going on 4 months old and am enjoying life to the fullest. I was very lucky that a foster at Safe Pet Project in Blairsville, Georgia was able to take such good care of me, my brothers and sisters. There were 7 of us. Mr. Tim wants to keep us all but, 7 is a handful. Now it’s time for us to find our forever homes. Mom is a Mountain Cur and Dad is ??? Let’s just say Mom was busy. We are a mix that could be Labrador, Aussie or German Shepherd. We had a few boy dogs in the neighborhood that wanted to visit my Mom. Anyway, HERE WE ARE! Safe Pet Project works directly with Nottely Oaks Animal Hospital to get us ready for adoption. They said I’m about 28 pounds and approximately 12 weeks old, happy and healthy. I am super affectionate and playful. It would be a great timing to adopt a dog since school will be out for the summer. I love kids and I like playing with other dogs, even if they are bigger than me. I am a young puppy so I have a lot to learn. I’m sure I get along with cats even though I have not met one yet. My foster Dad, Mr Tim said “Cats Rule” I’m sure I’ll figure it out. Did I mention I love kids and everyone I meet! I would be a wonderful family dog. If you have a fenced in yard so I can play with your kids or other dogs that would be terrific. Since I’m young I sleep and play a lot. I am a puppy. I will have all my puppy shots, plus annual vaccines good for one year. This is included in my adoption fee. It’s only $150.00. That is a steal!!!! Not to mention my neutering and spaying is also included. THATS RIGHT! I must get a little older before Nottely Oaks can neuter or spay us. Oh, I almost forgot. I will be microchipped for free at time of neutering or spaying. If you are interested, please contact Safe Pet Project in Blairsville, Georgia. Like I said “HURRY WHILE SUPPLIES LAST” Fill out an application at : www.safepetproject.org or call 706-400-7076 ext. 2. Don't forget to leave a message so our Adoption Coordinator can contact
