Meet Timmy The safe and loving world Timmy knew is gone. Timmy is a five-year-old pup and he is suddenly without his mom and his home. Nothing is familiar to him, the cold cement kennel feels strange and he doesn’t know a soul. Timmy was surrendered recently. He’s confused and sad, you can see the bewilderment in his eyes. He did nothing wrong and his confidence has been shaken badly. Timmy’s Mom surrendered him when she moved in with her mother as a caregiver and there was no room for sweet and loyal Timmy in her life or home anymore. Timmy lived with his Mom since he was six weeks old. He’s perfect in every way. Timmy looks to be a lab mix. He is sweet, friendly, calm, well-mannered and gentle. He likes people and other dogs. We’ll test him with cats. Timmy walks easily on a leash, he is housetrained, and he travels well. Timmy enjoys being out in our fenced yards. He enjoys the sun and exploring. Timmy is fully vetted, neutered and ready to go. We think Timmy will transition easily into a new home. We pray his stay will be short, but it depends on finding the right home. Adopters MUST come to the shelter to transport their new family member home. We do not ship, nor do we transport them to their new homes. Charles Smithgall Humane Society (CSHS) is a No kill shelter. Animals in our care remain safe with us until adopted. Rama is an absolute sweetheart! Hes very scared of new people&#44 but once hes around them&#44 he warms up and becomes his silly self. He loves to play ALL DAY&#44 and squeaky toys are his absolute favorite! He is house-trained (no crate needed) and will wake you up if he needs to go out. Hes also good at holding it all day if you are only able to take him out in the morning and then again at night. He does have a skin allergy that completely goes away with one steroid shot once a month. I dont know how he is with small kids&#44 but he doesnt seem to mind older kids (age 10+) when weve been out on our walks. I also dont know how he is with other dogs because I havent had him around any&#44 but his info from the shelter when he was there said he was good with them. He is happy to go for long walks and also just as happy to snuggle on the couch with you. He sleeps in bed with me every night and is such a cuddler! He can be low-key&#44 if needed&#44 but he would do best with an active owner who could take him on runs or hikes. I think he would also do best with someone who could be home with him all the time&#44 such as someone working from home or who had teenagers to keep him busy. I live in an apartment&#44 and hes fine&#44 but someone with a home and a yard for him would really be ideal. Hes very well trained and will immediately sit at attention when you tell him to sit. He also knows: stay&#44 up&#44 down&#44 and easy (when walking). Hes a very good dog&#44 and he deserves to be in a stable and loving home. It breaks my heart that I cant keep him&#44 but my health and finances right now dont allow me to give him the care he deserves.

BARC introduces CROSBY to rescue. A little over a month ago they came in as 2 pound puppies with parvo from GCAS. They had to be treated and quarantined for a month so we did. It has been a month since they had any symptoms and are ready for their forever home. They look just like miniature labs but I’m sure there is a small pup in the mix as they are still pretty small. They have been vetted and then some and are ready to rock and roll. They have the most lovable personalities and would be a beautiful addition to any family. Many adult dogs do arrive “house broken” however due to animal behavior any change in environment will make an emotional impact on the animals and therefore initiate unwanted behaviors during the acclamation period.
