Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Sweet Alyssa is ready to begin her next chapter! This beautiful girl arrived in her New Jersey foster home on 1/10, and little by little, she’s discovering how wonderful life can be. At just about 40–42 pounds and around 1 year old, Alyssa is the kind of dog who quietly steals your heart. Shelter life was overwhelming for Alyssa. Loud noises and constant activity left her shy and unsure — but behind her soft eyes is a deeply loving, loyal soul who truly wants to connect. With patience and reassurance, she has started to blossom. She happily takes treats, leans in for gentle pets, and each day grows a little braver. Alyssa absolutely adores other dogs and feels safest with a canine companion by her side. Right now, she’s besties with her foster brother Gus, and she follows his lead with comfort and confidence. Because she gains so much reassurance from another dog, we believe Alyssa would thrive in a home with a friendly, confident pup to help guide her. She’s also true “best friend” material for her person. Once she bonds, she bonds deeply. Alyssa is very attached to her foster mom and loves with her whole heart. When she feels safe, she’s happiest cuddled on the couch, soaking up affection and simply being near her person. Alyssa at a glance: About 1 year old, ~40–42 lbs Spayed Housebroken & crate trained Walks beautifully on a leash Loves other dogs and would thrive with a canine companion Very devoted and forms a strong bond with her person Best in a home without small children, as sudden noises and movements can frighten her Shy at first, but incredibly loving once she feels safe Alyssa doesn’t need a fence — just a calm, patient home filled with kindness, understanding, and ideally, a doggy friend. In return, she will give you a once-in-a-lifetime bond and the sweetest, most loyal love. If you’re looking for a gentle soul who will blossom right before your eyes and become your very best friend, Alyssa is waiting for you. Alyssa is fixed and up to date on shots. Her adoption donation is $450.  Adopting a dog is a commitment that will require annual veterinary care at a minimum, training, exercise, enrichment, etc. Pet care is not cheap or easy and adopters should consider the costs, time and training prior to adoption. After all these dogs have been through they deserve a loving, committed home. How to Adopt Me! Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Ben is with our rescue partner down south and can come to NJ if we find a foster or adopter for him.   Meet Ben    Sweet, gentle, and full of love — Ben is great with kids, plays nicely with other dogs, and is okay with cats (he may chase if they run).    from his foster in LA....I fostered Ben for six months, and he was so easy to love — gentle, affectionate, and great with children. He listens well and just wants to be part of the family. If he’s bored, he’ll dig for fun, so chew toys and bones help keep him happy.   Ben became best friends with another foster, Rocky — they play beautifully together and would love a home as a pair, if possible, or another dog.  Ben’s ready to be someone’s loyal, loving companion. Could that be you?    Ben is up to date on vaccines and treatment. He is already fixed and his  adoption donation is $550.  Adopting a dog is a commitment that will require annual veterinary care at a minimum, training, exercise, enrichment, etc. Pet care is not cheap or easy and adopters should consider the costs, time and training prior to adoption. Story
Puppuccino is also a social butterfly, so sweet that she will fly right into your heart! Puppuccino is about 3 years old and weighs 60 lbs. Puppuccino loves everyone she meets, big and small! She has incredible leash manners and according to her foster, "walks like a dream". Puppuccino is an athletic gal and enjoys zoomies around a yard. Ladybug is super affectionate, nuzzling her nose into your neck and fall asleep. Her foster says "she makes you smile and fills your heart with joy!" Ladybug is super smart and quickly learning her manners. Poor Ladybug was found as a stray in the big city, and taken to the over crowded shelter. She was terrified at the shelter, and that fear led her to be at risk for euthanasia. Thankfully, a loving foster stepped up to give this precious soul her second chance at life. Now, Puppuccino gets to enjoy learning how to be a dog while she waits for her forever home! Ladybug enjoys the company of select male dogs, but has not done well with female dogs or cats. She would do best as your one and only pet, but she sure is ready to soak up all that love! She adores children and is very respectful and shows great manners around small children. Puppuccino is fully vetted, spayed, micro chipped, and ready to go home with YOU! If you can open your heart & home to dear Puppuccino, please contact AmsterDog by call/text at 917-689-8414 or by email at info@amsterdog.org. Apply to adopt Puppuccino at AmsterDog.org. Thanks for caring about a pet in need! Come meet Puppuccino, she is a gem of a girl, just waiting to shine for her new family! Ladybug is currently being fostered in East Stroudsburg, PA
