Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Jesse is a handsome pup who is looking for a home. Jesse came to us from our rescue partner in Louisiana and is now in a NJ foster home. Pictures don't do this handsome boy justice. Jesse has the personality of a lab, and the colors of a catahoula/german short-haired pointer. He's just stunning, especially in the sunlight. Since being in a NJ Foster home, Jesse has quickly adjusted to home life! He has picked up his foster families schedule and has been learning so much with them. Please see his foster moms feature of Jesse below! Jesse is fixed and up to date on vaccines. His adoption fee is $450. Adopting a dog is a commitment that will require annual veterinary care at a minimum, training, exercise, enrichment, etc. Pet care is not cheap or easy and adopters should consider the costs, time and training prior to adoption. After all these dogs have been through, they deserve a loving, committed home. How to Adopt Me! If you are interested in learning more about me, and possibly making me part of your family, please go to wag-on-inn.com. To apply, click HERE or on our website, go to Adoptable Pets and Adoption Application. A Wag On Inn volunteer will be in touch soon! Foster Feature General Personality: Jesse is a lovebug. He loves to hang out with humans. He is playful in spurts but loves to cuddle. He loves to go for a walk - he has good leash manners but does perk up when he sees a person - he is very friendly. Daily Routine: Jesse quickly figured out my routine but seems to just go with the flow. Is the dog housebroken? Yes Behavior Around Dogs, Cats, or Kids: Jesse lives with three dogs in his current foster home. He has done well with them and also with some visitor dogs. His pre-transport foster reported that he tested well with cats. He is also good with kids but needs consistent direction to not jump - his previous foster reported that Jesse would gently jump up to "hug" people, but he has been working hard and doing very well at keeping "four on the floor" but he will need his new people to be consistent with encouraging only polite greetings. He is more likely to jump when spoken to in a high-pitched voice. Energy Rating (1 = very high; 5 = very low): 3 Leash Walking Rating (1 = difficult; 5 = perfect): 3 Leash Behaviors: Jesse mostly walks on a loose leash. He sometimes walks at end of leash when he sees a person (he loves people!) or a squirrel but does not pull. At worst he gives a small tug but is very receptive to a small correction. Crate Rating When Left Alone: Cries and/or barks for a few minutes and then calms down Does the dog sleep through the night? Yes What makes him/her happy? Jesse loves to lay next to me or cuddle. He romps with my dogs in the yard for short spurts. He is not particularly interested in toys but will occasionally chew on a Benebone or Nylabone. He also seems to enjoy taking a ride in the car. He lies down on the seat and enjoys the ride (I use a seat belt clip to keep him safe). What makes him/her nervous or unhappy? Jesse bounces by the door if I go out for a quick task (get the mail, take out the trash). I plan to have a friend come over to help me practice. Other Quirks: Jesse drinks a lot of water, leading to lots of potty breaks. He had a full vet workup and was given a clean bill of health. Other Displayed Behaviors: Jesse is trying to figure out vehicles that drive by when we are out on a walk. he will bounce away or towards them. It is easy to manage but I need to pay attention, so he doesn't catch me by surprise. Current Walking Device: Regular leash and martingale collar Currently Eating: Hill's Science Diet Adult 1-6, Adult 1-6 Premium Nutrition, Small Kibble, Dry Dog Food, Chicken & Barley. two meals per day, three cups each.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.December 6, 2025, 11:33 am
