Story
Sadie is going up for adoption. My back is to the point that I can't handle her anymore (I can barely walk now). She's very strong. She pulls on a leash, and escapes from her harness. Always comes back home. I'd like to find her a good home. Barring that, she goes back to the humane society, which might be the end of her. She's extremely friendly. Gets along with cats and dogs. She is a handful (2 hands anyway). Spayed, current rabies. Approximately 6 years old. Come get her. We're in Wamego Kansas. Good watchdog. Absolutely house-trained. Note: She has killed chickens.

Story
I adopted Annie from the Lawrence Human Society December 2023. I need to re-home her because I had a health issue in June and am unable to care for her any more. She a smart, gentle dog. I live in the country and she has been using the pet door to let herself in and out. She especially loves the snow! She likes investigating the farm - chasing squirrels, checking out the cattle, etc. We have established a ritual: Everytime I return home after being gone any length of time ( 2 minutes to 2 weeks 😄), she meets me at my driver's door in the garage. I scratch her rump about 5 seconds, give her two pats on the rump, then she's off - back to doing her thing. She knows commands: come; sit; get/go; to your bed. I would like to give 5 months Rx flea/tick treatment and her wire kennel to whomever adopts her. She likes hanging out in the kenned when she is in the house, and goes there when she thinks she's in trouble. I'm sure I'll cry when I re-home her.... just a fair warning .....

Good with dogs, Needs experienced adopter, House-trained,
Story
Winnie is a sweet girl who loves to snuggle and run around the yard. She's a little nervous and needs kenneled until she feels safe, but she will snuggle up to you every night and give you comfort and love.Winnie is independent - she will hold the leash in her own mouth on walks because she's not just a puppy anymore.I'd recommend Winnie get placed with adults or with someone with kids that can understand dogs can be nervous and they need their space to feel comfortable and get to know everyone. Once you build a relationship, this dog will be a lifelong companion.I am leaving town and can't take her with me but she has been a great dog.

Story
Listing this pet for a neighbor who just had triplets. Unfortunately I cannot take him as I already have 2 rescue dogs of my own. Bubby is a super sweet boy who needs more attention and exercise. He is playful and affectionate. He seems to love other dogs and doesn't seem to be territorial or possessive of food or toys.

Story
We got Joey from Wayside Waifs over a year ago. He is 17 months old. He is very active, but gets hot easily. He growls when he plays and that has been scary for our kiddos. He can be very sweet and would be a great pet for a calm 2 person family without kids and with another dog. He does get bored easily, but he is not a chewer. He LOVES to fetch!!! It really kills me to rehome him, but my kiddos are scared of him and he needs a better home with someone where he is loved more than we can give him right now.

Story
Max is the perfect family dog. He is a total sweetheart, and loves to play. He is originally from KHS, and has been apart of our home for a little under a year. He would do great in a house with other big dogs or kids for him to play with, but would also make a great solo companion.
