Story
Meet Luna… She is an 11 year old pitbull lab mix who has been a beloved member of our family since she was a puppy. She loves belly rubs, snuggles, walks, and sunbathing! She’s really sweet and loyal and once she knows you she will love you! Luna does have a history of not liking kids but when we had our son we had to be cautious. As Luna has gotten older, she has become more sensitive to the high energy and unpredictability of our young son. Due to a recent accident where he got nipped, we have made the heartbreaking decision that the safest and happiest place for her is a quiet, adult-only home. She would thrive with someone who: * Has a predictable daily routine. * Does not have young children or frequent young visitors. * Wants a loyal companion for low-energy activities. We love her dearly and want to ensure she is loved and her remaining golden years are stress free. Serious inquires ONLY . She would have to meet you first to make sure it’s a good placement.

Story
We adopted Anakin right before the COVID pandemic hit. He integrated extremely well with our other animals (cat and dog). He is extremely sweet, loving, and very well behaved. He just is not good with kids and we have two little ones now. His unprovoked aggression towards our young infants is scaring them and they are starting to be afraid of all dogs so we really need to rehome him. He is a giant teddy bear who loves to cuddle and will be your forever friend, as long as there are no kids in your home.

Wonderful dog with children. Has separation anxiety and needs someone who can be home with him more. Does not get along with other dogs. He’s a huge couch potato and just wants to cuddle all the time.

Story
Chato was adopted from the shelter at approximately 1 year old. He was very shy but had been through their training program and we had hoped that he would warm up and come out of his shell in a secure home. Once home, we noticed some scars that show evidence he may have suffered abuse prior to arriving at the shelter. He is a very sweet dog and loves his people, but is very protective of his home. He did bite on the hand a workman who accidentally arrived in the yard at the same time Chato was going out to potty. He also struggles to get along with the larger dog living in the home, though he's great with the smaller dogs and cats. Chato really needs a home with fewer people coming and going and no other pets (or just one or two other small dogs). He will need socialization training and possibly medication for his anxiety. He loves walks, belly rubs and yak cheese. He will need a fenced yard, but is making strides on recall. He is up to date on all vaccines and medications.

Story
We got Bruce at the humane society here in Wichita a couple years ago and he is about 9 years old. He is house trained and does not get kenneled however has recently started getting in the trash when we are not home (something to keep in mind). He is a very sweet dog he is just very rowdy when guests come over or when he hears something outside which is a concern for us bringing a baby home in a few months. He does have a bad habit of chewing things up like boxes/anything left on counters when nobody is home, he will tear up anything that is left out. He loves toys and cuddles and he is very energetic for his age. He loves to play and sleep. He matches energy very well so if you’re laying around all day he will also, if you want to play with him and get hyper he will do that with you also. He has never bitten anyone since we have had him or been aggressive with any humans.

Story
Charlize / Leezy is a 6 ish year old medium sized mixed breed that we think is at least part boxer. She is very lovable and energetic and generally well behaved. She is crate trained and house trained. She has never been aggressive towards people however to be most certain there's no issue, I would not recommend a house with kids younger than 10-ish. I would not recommend a home with other pets. She is currently one of two dogs in my household and about once every 3 to 6 months something will prompt her to feel the need to either guard something or correct the other dogs behavior and she will go from happy and calm to 100% with little to no warning. But without other pets she is happy go lucky.
