Story
Newt is a young, playful rescue dog from Panama. He was found in a rural village and brought to the U.S. to find a good home! He has been with us for the past months as we get him ready for adoption. Newt is very friendly with all people and kids. He would love nothing more than to play and snuggle all day. He loves strangers. He is crate trained, house trained, and not a big barker. He can be left alone during the work day with no problems. Newt loves to play with other dogs once he knows them, and he has done well with other dogs at dog sitters' houses. However, he can be leash reactive to other dogs out and about. He would need someone willing to work on this with him. We are not sure how Newt would do with a cat, as we do not have one. He is very food motivated, and has great training potential. He knows basic commands. Some other details: He weighs around 40 pounds, is around 1.5 years old, unknown breeds. No known allergies.

Story
Smart, Active Puppy Seeking the Right Home We are looking to rehome our 6-month-old puppy to a home that better fits his needs. This has been a difficult decision, but we want to find him an environment where he can thrive. He is a very smart, loyal dog who already has a great foundation. He is crate trained, does well on a leash, enjoys car rides, loves outdoor adventures, stays close by, comes when called, and rings a bell to go potty outside. He forms strong bonds with his people and is happiest spending time with those he trusts. His biggest challenge is that he can be fearful and selective around new people. Despite our efforts, he still struggles to feel comfortable with strangers and would benefit from continued training and confidence-building. Because of this, he would do best in a quieter, low-traffic home with an experienced owner who understands shy or fearful dogs and can provide structure, patience, exercise, and ongoing training.

Story
Nellie is a sweet 6 year old girl but has anxiety. She has trouble adjusting to new people but warms up quickly. She is house trained and finds a safe place in her crate. I’m hoping we can find a home that can give her the love and attention she needs to feel calm and fill the rest of her life with peace and joy. She is originally from Colorado but has lived in 4 states total. She has spent time in California, DC, Colorado and now Washington. She is the best travel buddy and will spend her time looking at the views from her window.

Story
Rescued from Oregon Humane Society in Portland on 9/17/2023. Estimated age at that time at 1 year. May be slightly older. She had been transferred there from Medford. Very energetic, very intelligent. Freddie has come a long way since we took her in. She has separation anxiety and is on medication for it. I can provide that information to any interested parties She is very lovable. Her favorite activities are playing keep away with any number of her toys, tug/pull, fetching tennis balls, chewing on bones and finding the treat. Our biggest challenge is that Freddie is very protective and is aggressive with other dogs, older males (especially wearing ball caps or hoodies) or if someone she doesn't know surprises her. As I had spinal surgery late last year, it's very challenging for me to walk or control her and has become an issue for my wife who feels she can't leave the house or take her anywhere with her I am happy to answer any questions, and hope to find her a new home

Story
Named after Willie Nelson, Willie was rescued as a puppy in Southern California. He’s approximately 1 and a half years old. He is a very sweet, energetic boy. He loves kids and other dogs. He needs a lot of love, affection and exercise. He’s a happy boy that would do well in an active family with other dogs and a lot of space. He has a bit of anxiety, but overall is a joyful dog.

Story
We adopted pancake 6 years ago from the humane society, we believe she is 9. She is a total love bug and is happiest when sitting on your lap or cuddled up next to you. Unfortunately she has not been getting along with our other senior dog and now that we have a baby it's too much to manage. She was diagnosed with glaucoma earlier this year and had one eye removed. She is on medication to slow the progression in her other eye, but it will eventually need to be removed. She is potty trained but will go on a pee pad if unable to be taken outside. She is shy around strangers and prefers her family. Ideal family wouldn't have other pets and able to shower her with love and attention.
