Hi, I’m Faith and I'm ready to find my forever home. Dog’s Name: Faith Location: Chicago, IL Date of Birth: 01/17/2026 Gender: Female Breed: Newfoundland Mix Color: Fawn Dog's Weight: Gets along with: Dogs?: All Dogs  Cats?:  Unknown Kids?: All kids Training: Leash trained: We're working on it Crate/Kennel:  We're working on it Potty trained: We're working on it Car:  We're working on it Meet Faith Faith is a cautiously curious little puppy who is still learning about the world around her. She may be shy and a bit nervous at first, but with a little patience, gentle pets, and some playtime, she quickly begins to warm up. Once she feels safe and comfortable, her personality truly shines—she becomes a bouncy, playful girl who isn’t afraid to use her voice to join in the fun. New sounds and unfamiliar environments can make Faith unsure, and she’ll definitely let you know when she’s not thrilled about crate time. However, she’s a smart pup who will thrive with a consistent routine and patient guidance as she continues to adjust and grow. While she has an independent streak and isn’t overly snuggly, she absolutely loves belly rubs and attention on her terms. Faith would do wonderfully in a home with another confident dog. She really looks up to her foster sibling, gaining both comfort and courage from having a furry friend nearby. As a young puppy, she will need continued training, structure, and reassurance—but for someone willing to invest the time and consistency, Faith will blossom into a loyal and loving companion. Hi, I’m Cleo and I'm ready to find my forever home. Dog’s Name: Cleo Location: Cuba, IL Date of Birth: 01/17/2026 Gender: Female Breed: Newfoundland Mix Color: Black / Brown Dog's Weight: 24 Gets along with: Dogs?: All Dogs Cats?:  Unknown Kids?: All kids Training: Leash trained: We're working on it Crate/Kennel:  We're working on it Potty trained: We're working on it and making great progress Car:  We're working on it Meet Cloe Cleo is a fun-loving, playful puppy who brings joy wherever she goes! She loves toys, sticks, and anything she can carry around on her adventures. Like many puppies, she’s going through a chewing phase, so she’ll do best with plenty of appropriate toys and guidance as she continues to learn. Cleo is already doing pretty well on a leash, though she can get a little excited and pull at times—she’s just eager to explore the world! Cleo would thrive with an adopter who is committed to continuing her training and helping her grow into a well-mannered adult. She could be a great fit for a first-time giant breed owner who is ready to learn and stay consistent with her training needs. A home with access to water would be a dream for Cleo, as Newfoundland dogs are natural water lovers and she would absolutely enjoy opportunities to swim and play. While a fenced yard isn’t required, it would be a great bonus for safe playtime. With her happy personality and playful spirit, Cleo is truly a wonderful puppy who is ready to bring love, fun, and a little bit of mischief to her forever home! Until the profile is removed from the public’s view, this dog is considered available for adoption. To apply to adopt from Just Giants Rescue fill out an online. Hi, I’m Pip and I'm ready to find my forever home. Dog’s Name: Pip Location: Mokena, IL Date of Birth: 01/17/2026 Gender: Male Breed: Newfoundland Mix Color: Black Dog's Weight: 36 Gets along with: Dogs?: All Dogs  Cats?:  Unknown Kids?: All kids Training: Leash trained: Walks loose on leash Learned to go up and down stairs and sits on command Potty Trained:  Almost completely potty trained Meet Pip Pip is a bright, playful, and high-energy pup who brings enthusiasm into everything he does. He loves to run, wrestle, and engage with other dogs, and he thrives in an active environment where he can stretch his legs and use his mind. Smart and eager to learn, Pip is a quick study who will do well with consistent guidance and positive reinforcement training. He is still in his “puppy brain” stage and will need help learning basic obedience, manners, and impulse control. With structure and patience, he has all the potential to grow into a well-mannered, well-rounded companion. Pip would do best with an adopter who understands or is excited about training a young, energetic dog. A first-time giant breed owner could be a good match as long as they are committed to training, exercise, and consistency. He would greatly benefit from an active household that can meet his daily exercise needs, whether through a securely fenced yard or regular long walks, hikes, and play sessions. He may also enjoy having another playful dog companion to help burn energy and support social learning, though this is not required if his exercise and enrichment needs are met in other ways. In the right home, Pip will reward his people with loyalty, joy, and a fun-loving personality that makes every day more exciting. Until the profile is removed from the public’s view, this dog is considered available for adoption. To apply to adopt from Just Giants Rescue fill out an online. Hi, I’m Dru and I'm ready to find my forever home. Dog’s Name: Dru Location: Mokena, IL Date of Birth: 01/17/2026 Gender: Male Breed: Newfoundland Mix Color: Black Dog's Weight: 27 Gets along with: Dogs?: All Dogs  Cats?:  Unknown Kids?: All kids Training: Leash trained: Walks loose on leash Potty Trained - indicates need to potty and doesn't have indoor accidents No indoor accidents 1 full week, will sit for a treat, can do stairs up and down, sleeps 7-8 hours at night Meet Dru Dru is a playful, affectionate pup with a big heart and an even bigger love for people. He’s happiest when he’s close to his humans—whether that means snuggling on the couch, following you from room to room, or soaking up attention after a good play session. He’s also a quick learner, which makes him a great candidate for someone excited to continue his basic training and help him grow into his best self. Dru is still a puppy, so he’ll need guidance with basic commands, manners, and consistency as he learns how to navigate the world. With his eagerness to please and bright personality, training should be a fun and rewarding experience for both him and his adopter. He is friendly with other dogs and enjoys being around people of all kinds, making him a social and adaptable companion. He loves to run and would thrive in a home with an area where he can safely stretch his legs, especially if there’s a ball involved—fetch and chasing games are right up his alley. Dru would do best in an active home that can give him structure, daily exercise, and lots of interaction. He could be a great fit for a first-time dog owner who is ready for the puppy stage and committed to training, as long as they’re prepared for his energy and need for guidance. A fenced yard would be ideal for his zoomies and play sessions, but most importantly, he needs a family that will include him, teach him, and love on him plenty. With the right home, Dru is going to grow into an incredibly loyal, fun-loving companion who brings joy and laughter wherever he goes. Story
NO LONGER ACCEPTING APPLICATIONSMeet Archie—the one-eyed wonder pup with a heart twice the size of any ordinary dog. With his soft, fluffy coat and soulful gaze, Archie looks like a well-loved stuffed animal come to life, and honestly, he lives up to that reputation. He’s the kind of pup who turns heads not just because of his unique look, but because of the quiet resilience and sweetness he carries everywhere he goes. Despite having only one eye, Archie navigates the world with growing confidence and curiosity, proving every day that nothing can slow him down. Archie is equal parts playful and cuddly. He loves a good game of tug or chasing squeaky toys, but he’s just as happy curled up next to his people for a cozy nap on the couch. He’s doing well with house training and thrives in his crate, where he sleeps soundly at night and settles when left alone. On walks, Archie is a polite gentleman on leash, taking in the world at his own pace while building confidence in new surroundings. He knows “sit,” is highly motivated by treats, and gets along wonderfully with other dogs—he truly loves everyone he meets.Like any young pup, Archie has a playful mischievous streak, but he’s easily redirected and eager to please. Loud noises or fast movements can sometimes startle him as he adjusts to seeing the world a little differently, but his progress has been nothing short of inspiring. Archie is looking for a home that will cherish him for exactly who he is—a resilient, affectionate, and utterly lovable companion who just wants to be someone’s whole world. We love our dogs. We want happy lives for all of them and are looking for the home that provides the best fit for each dog’s individual needs. Please understand that there may be multiple families interested in this dog. Also, please know that the breed mix listed is simply a guess. In most cases, we don’t know their background. We encourage you to base your decision on individual personality and pet qualities instead of relying on our guess. Please understand, we only adopt our animals out near the Chicagoland area. Questions? Email us at adoptions@sccrescue.org. Hope to see you become part of the SCCR family!

Story
Meet Nellie Nellie, a Great Pyrenees, joined BAARK when her owner was no longer able to care for himself, much less her. As such, she was in pretty rough physical condition when she was surrendered, but clearly had received plenty of attention and love. Nellie is estimated to be 7-8 years old and weighs about 80 lbs. When meeting new people, Nellie is a little shy at first. We believe that this is because she had very little exposure to new people when with her previous owner. However, in her foster home, with patience and, in following the lead of her new canine friends, Nellie has really blossomed. She now gives kisses and lots of tail wags when her foster mom and dad get home from work. She gets along wonderfully with dogs of all sizes. In typical Great Pyr fashion, she loves patrolling the fence line and she is especially in tune to large birds flying overhead. Her foster family appreciates her level of alert, as Nellie watches over her much smaller foster brother and sisters in the home. Nellie is housebroken and is just fine being un-crated at home by herself. Nellie joined our rescue organization back in June. She is just becoming available for adoption as she has a long recovery from a mass removal on her paw pad (benign). She has 3 toes on that paw but gets around just fine. Nellie is in overall great health. She’s spayed, microchipped, up to date on vaccinations, heartworm negative and on preventative. If you are interested in adding this wonderful senior to your family, please contact BAARKDogRescue@gmail.com or 847-852-0895.
