Mackinaw Have you ever watched the TV show, “The Incredible Dr. Pol”? Well, my foster mom has been binge watching the show and trying to figure out a name for me and since the show is based in Michigan, she came up with my name, which is Mackinaw. It means ‘large turtle’ in the Ojibwa language, one of the Indian tribes in the area. I don’t think I look like a large turtle but whatever…. I am probably a Bernese Mountain Dog mix of some sort, and I am very loveable and sweet. I was found in the middle of the road and my foster mom was concerned that I was thrown from a car because I was not using my left rear leg as well as I was using the right one. But after some crate rest for a week and a visit to the vet to get an exam and some x-rays done, I am happy to say that nothing is broken and I am using my legs like I am supposed to now. Very good news! I will probably be a large medium or a small large size, if that makes sense. About 50-60 pounds or so. But since my breed is based on my handsomely good looks, it is hard to tell how big I will be when I grow up. And my breed is just a guess anyhow, only a DNA test will tell for sure, but I am 100% purebred lover boy. I was born about the third of November of 2025 and will be available for my new forever home after I get fixed in January 2026. Adoption fee in Texas is $250. Out of State adoption fee is $550 with transport and fuel surcharge.

Coco is the sweetest of girls and is looking for her forever family. She is a little shy and prefers a calm environment. She loves other dogs and plays well with her 3 foster siblings. She loves a good game of chase, and she loves to chew on antlers and toys that squeak. Coco gets excited to go on car rides and is ready to go whenever you pick up the keys. She rides very well in the car. She has had some training and is great with 'sit' and 'down' and offering her paw. She is working on reinforcing the 'stay' and 'come' commands with her foster parents. She would do best with a fenced yard and supervision (at first anyhow). Her previous family reported a tendency to run off. Her foster family has seen no such behavior. Coco is housetrained and is a bit afraid of her crate - which is being worked on. She sleeps all night on her dog bed in the master bedroom. She is a cuddler and wants to be close to her people. Hannah is a 6 year old Bernese Mountain Dog/Cavalier King Charles mix and she weighs about 30 pounds. She's a big fan of other dogs and we think she'd be fine with cats, too! She's a bit nervous when meeting new people, but hasn't shown any aggression at all. Hannah is doing well in her crate and has not had any accidents in the house! She's also doing very well walking on leash! The most important thing this beautiful girl will need in her forever home is patience and kindness. She's curious but still decompressing, so her future family will need to give her time and space to get comfortable in her new life. Meet Nellie Nellie, a Great Pyrenees, joined BAARK when her owner was no longer able to care for himself, much less her. As such, she was in pretty rough physical condition when she was surrendered, but clearly had received plenty of attention and love. Nellie is estimated to be 7-8 years old and weighs about 80 lbs. When meeting new people, Nellie is a little shy at first. We believe that this is because she had very little exposure to new people when with her previous owner. However, in her foster home, with patience and, in following the lead of her new canine friends, Nellie has really blossomed. She now gives kisses and lots of tail wags when her foster mom and dad get home from work. She gets along wonderfully with dogs of all sizes. In typical Great Pyr fashion, she loves patrolling the fence line and she is especially in tune to large birds flying overhead. Her foster family appreciates her level of alert, as Nellie watches over her much smaller foster brother and sisters in the home. Nellie is housebroken and is just fine being un-crated at home by herself. Nellie joined our rescue organization back in June. She is just becoming available for adoption as she has a long recovery from a mass removal on her paw pad (benign). She has 3 toes on that paw but gets around just fine. Nellie is in overall great health. She’s spayed, microchipped, up to date on vaccinations, heartworm negative and on preventative. Frosty 1 year old Female Great Pyrenees Spayed already Housebroken and crate trained Good with other dogs Good with cats Not sure about kids...just say over 12 years old. Fenced yard required. No apartment or condo. Frosty joined BAARK along with her sister, having been found in Boone County. We are told that the girls had been living in a barn stall…so of course had had no experience with wearing of a collar, leash walking, housebreaking, and just living in a house. But all that has changed…for the better. While Frosty is a growing puppy (she’s just over a year old), she is making plenty of progress as she evolves into the best version of herself!! Frosty is very sweet, and very shy. She’s calm and sometimes timid, as well as submissive. She enjoys being with other dogs and is good with cats too! Frosty is doing very well with housebreaking and crate training, especially when motivated by treats!! An ideal home for Frosty has a secure, large fenced yard (one she can not climb over!), and another dog, to teach her the ropes and help build her confidence! A patient family willing to provide Frosty the daily attention, affection, and training she deserves is important. And, Great Pyrenees is definitely a plus when considering a forever home for Frosty. Frosty is fully vetted, up to date on vaccinations, heartworm negative and on year-round preventative, spayed and microchipped. She is working on housebreaking as well as her leash manners.
