DISCLOSURE: The adoptable pets in our program are still in the care and custody of owners who wish to re-home their pet. Owners have enlisted Rescue Well to provide marketing and screening of applicants as a service, free of charge. All fees and adoption conditions are determined by the owner. We advise that adopters do not send payment or deposits for pets prior to adopting.  ***** Fezzik (Fez) is 3yo, weighs 130lbs, is neither neutered, nor up to date on his vaccines, nor microchipped.  "Fez is a big boy with a big voice, but a sweet, gentle soul.  He would be best in a home with adults or older kids.  He loves kids and cats and wants to play with them but doesn't always realize how big he is.  Fez loves bath time, playing tug-of-war, and being around people.  He loves to have access to his crate and toys.  He can be protective of his food if other animals are around.  He knows the commands sit, down, off, crate and touch.  He also knows spot and come but is more often than not stubborn and will not listen.  Fez dislikes having his backside touched and is terrified of the vacuum, but he's very good during car rides." Fez's guardian states the reason she has made the difficult decision to rehome him: "Our yard is small and he does not have space that a dog his size needs to roam and exercise. We live in a small 3 level townhouse that he is scared to go up and down one of the larger flights of stairs. We have been unable to leash walk him did to his size. We have tried private and group training. I don’t feel like we are giving him the best life and want him to be in a home where he can be happy, comfortable, and have the space he needs to play, sleep, and live." Fez's guardian states the following regarding children:  Fez lives with children, ages 10 and 16, so his guardian recommends his living with children, stating "He gets excited and will jump around and sometimes barks for attention.  Both of these can be intimidating for kids, especially younger ones." Fez's guardian states the following regarding dogs:  Although Fez doesn't live with dogs, his guardian recommends his living with dogs, stating "He's excited and pulls to get to them and barks at them." Fez's guardian states the following regarding cats:  Fez lives with cats, so his guardian recommends his living with cats, but has not been around cats outside the home. Fez's guardian describes him as: Playful Friendly Likes to be touched Affectionate Always at your side Indoor dog House-Trained Crate-Trained Likes men Likes women Fez's guardian describes his ideal future home: "Fez preferably needs a large, fenced in yard.  He would love space to roam, run, and play.  He loves water, so a pool, pond, or something on property or close would  be nice.  He would do fine in a home with cats, but most cats would not appreciate his playfulness and size.  I think he would do well with other dogs." Story
Macy is an approximately 2 year old, 100 lbs. female Pyrenees/Shepherd mix. See results of her DNA test, which includes health information as well. She is house trained (at foster home), great on a leash, and does well in a crate. Macy enjoys long walks, romps in the yard, and snuggles. She will do best in a home with no other dogs and no small children. For Macy, you need a large yard, preferably fenced. She is spayed, current on vaccines, and heartworm negative. She needs adopters who will give her exercise and train her to be her best doggy self. If interested in adopting, email marysmutts05@gmail.com for a dog adoption application. The Adoption Fee is $400.00. We appreciate your interest in adopting from a rescue organization. We understand the desire to meet our "cuties" as soon as possible, but because we operate entirely out of foster homes, we need to limit visitation to approved applicants only. Once your completed application is submitted by you and approved by MASR, we will be glad to schedule your visit. This dog has been examined by our vet, spayed or neutered (if not previously done), vaccinations updated, heartworm negative, and has been microchipped. Breed Selection is 'Best Efforts' given by shelter staff, veterinarians and rescue volunteers. NO guarantees are implied. We do not guarantee housebreaking. Consistency and patience are key! Dogs benefit greatly from Obedience Training - and we encourage you to check out http://www.pupsdogobediencetraining.com/ . They offer a great discount for training of dogs coming from MAS Rescue! Please note that small breeds are not well designed for families with young children as everything about them is more delicate and will require careful handling. Please be sure you have the TIME to have a dog. Please be aware that it is the opinion of this rescue group, in conjunction with dog behaviorists, that a young puppy benefits greatly with proper socialization. We will only place puppies in homes where they have the opportunity to be with someone all day, travel to work, or have special arrangements, such as Puppy Day Care, Dog Walker, etc. Remember adoption is a commitment for the lifetime of your new furry friend; dogs could live 15 years or more!!
